00:00:57When we start things off with Proving Ground action, our Ring of Honor Women's World Champion,

01:27:35that's almost like apples and oranges in the lucha world.

01:27:39They're two of the most accomplished trainers they are,

01:27:41but they have such different styles that they're almost

01:27:45tailor-made to face each other.

01:27:48Great matchup.

01:27:50But Helico was born with this flow state mentality, learning

01:27:54in Mexico.

01:27:55The only place he's really learned wrestling.

01:27:57But Moriarty, most of his wrestling was learned in the

01:27:59States and traveled to learn other genres of wrestling.

01:28:03And so this is going to be a huge test for Moriarty because

01:28:06of the background that Helico has.

01:28:09Because that background is what Moriarty uses against other

01:28:12opponents.

01:28:14Look at this.

01:28:15Great wrist control here.

01:28:16Double wrist lock takeover over the head.

01:28:19And a wrist lock here.

01:28:21On Helico, not flustered though.

01:28:22You don't see the urgency, and that's okay.

01:28:24He thinks one or two moves ahead.

01:28:26He has that calm breath, calm breathing.

01:28:28Staying calm is a big deal, Rick, because if you start

01:28:31breathing hard, you make your body think another way,

01:28:34and it starts to panic.

01:28:35He's able to keep his body calm.

01:28:41And look at that.

01:28:51And that was one of the keys, I think, against Wheeler Uta

01:28:59He was countering counters, as we see.

01:29:03I think an advantage of the period of vision is coming in

01:29:05to wrestle, not to fight.

01:29:07And when you have Wheeler Uta in there,

01:29:09it was very personal with Wheeler Uta and Moriarty.

01:29:12There's nothing too personal about this.

01:29:14It's a title defense.

01:29:15But the styles are what we have to worry about with Moriarty.

01:29:22Of course, it's two weeks ago.

01:29:24Moriarty successful in proving ground action against

01:29:30You see on Helico, remaining with the technical style.

01:30:54Now one interesting thing, a drop toe hold there on the outside.

01:30:58It's been made very clear since the pure division has been relaunched

01:32:11And he's got that wrist Caprice, which is not only for leverage,

01:32:14but I think out of necessity to hold on Helico's frame in place.

01:32:19able to move out of stuff with that flow state mentality.

01:34:26The way Helico's holding that shoulder is as if Moriarty knows something

01:34:30about Helico that Helico didn't know.

01:34:38Oh, you hear Shane Taylor, and that's got to be, Caprice,

01:34:41you've been on Shane Taylor's team.

01:34:43You've been on the opposite side of the ring against Shane Taylor.

01:34:46Shane Taylor just continuing to talk.

01:34:49It is not something that you can drown out.

01:34:52That's got to be weighing on the mind of Helico at this point also.

01:34:54You're absolutely right.

01:34:55Shane Taylor has an undeniable, unique voice that you can hear in the room.

01:34:59You know his voice.

01:35:02Nice inside ankle trip by Moriarty.

01:35:22And that's got to be just rattling, ping-ponging around in the mind of

01:35:26Angelico who's trying to fight back, who's trying to roll out.

01:35:28Goes down to one leg, through the legs.

01:35:30Angelico, look at that, leg switch.

01:35:32Traps the leg, pushes out.

01:35:34Has the ankle into the ankle lock, knee bar ankle lock combo here from Angelico.

01:35:38And Moriarty's got to get to the ropes.

01:35:40We thought about it.

01:35:46And it's rope break number two used by Lee Moriarty.

01:35:50You have to know how impressive this is, Rick Obani.

01:35:53It's very rare for Moriarty to reach for these ropes.

01:35:55He's won matches without rope breaks.

01:36:01And Angelico now, the trash talk.

01:36:03You hear Taylor saying breathe.

01:36:05Both men now resetting in that block position.

01:36:09There's the fake out.

01:36:10Picks the ankle again.

01:36:12Trying to step up, trap, holds on, great.

01:36:14Wow.

01:36:15Right back to that shoulder.

01:36:17And that all happened because Moriarty stepped on that wrist

01:36:20and was able to hold Angelico in place.

01:36:22It is those micro movements that make Moriarty so successful.

01:36:25Oh, my goodness.

01:36:26Stretching here at the delts on the shoulder.

01:36:28He's going to snap it back or just keep that bow and arrow type movement.

01:36:33We saw this earlier from Angelico and now we're seeing it from Moriarty.

01:36:41Into the bridge.

01:36:44I tell you what, Rick Obani, imagine being at the gym and stretching

01:36:46and you get to that point where you can't stretch anymore

01:36:48and then your chain is just pushing you down.

01:36:51That's exactly what happened.

01:36:52That's rope break number two used by Angelico.

01:36:55Wow.

01:36:57And we are at two rope breaks.

01:37:00And that's a great comparison.

01:37:01I think everybody knows that feeling, Caprice.

01:37:03The wrist lock here.

01:37:04And going back to the shoulder is the pure champion, Lee Moriarty.

01:37:10Here's the reason why Moriarty is the champion,

01:37:12putting the game plan together, sticking on a body part.

01:37:18And now looking for the Irish whip, drop down to one knee.

01:37:21Reversal.

01:37:24Moriarty swinging around, blocks the double ax,

01:37:26and now it's Moriarty back to the shoulder.

01:37:32And listen to Taylor encouraging Moriarty off the ropes.

01:37:36Moriarty shoulder tackle.

01:37:38He's got Helico down.

01:37:39Lateral press.

01:37:40Two.

01:37:41How important was that shoulder tackle, Ricky Bonnie?

01:37:43And what you normally see at the beginning of the match

01:37:45is Moriarty using it to weaken the shoulder.

01:37:49And now it could lead him to the Camara here, Caprice.

01:37:51He has it.

01:37:53Camara lock.

01:37:54Locked in.

01:37:55His right arm is locked in between the knees of Moriarty.

01:37:58And Helico's going to have to use those long legs to break him.

01:38:01It'll be the last rope break, though.

01:38:02You have to think about it.

01:38:03Think about it.

01:38:05Oh, and he needs to get there.

01:38:06He does.

01:38:09That is the third and final rope break for Angelico.

01:38:13Now, think about this, Ricky Bonnie.

01:38:14Each submission has been broken up by somebody grabbing the ropes.

01:38:20Yes, indeed.

01:38:21Next time someone grabs the ropes, if it's Angelico, it doesn't matter.

01:38:56The longer that move is in, the more damage it does.

01:38:58It's twisting the knee and the ankle at the same time.

01:39:00So it messes with the mobility of Moriarty.

01:39:02Moriarty had no choice but to grab the rope in his last one.

01:39:05Sudden death for Gabon.

01:39:07We are in the danger zone, Caprice.

01:39:09You're absolutely right.

01:39:10Both men have exhausted both rope breaks here.

01:39:12Either man could be pinned or submitted in, on, between, under the ropes.

01:39:23Angelico is the first one to exhaust the rope breaks of Moriarty.

01:39:27And he's been in control a lot.
