Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited Bukit Mertajam on Friday (Aug 30), making key stops at Bukit Mertajam Hospital, sharing a nasi kandar meal with locals in Simpang Tiga Kubang Semang, and performing Friday prayers at Kubang Semang Mosque.

00:00Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited Bukit Mertajam on Friday, making several significant
00:08stops during his visit.
00:10At Bukit Mertajam Hospital, Anwar toured the children's ward and the newly installed computerised
00:16tomography CT scanner examination room.
00:19He also visited the former staff quarters building where he and his family lived from
00:231955 to 1959, before relocating to Cherok Tokkun.
00:29Anwar's late father, Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, served as an assistant medical officer at
00:34the hospital during that time.
00:36For lunch, the Prime Minister joined locals at Kedai Tok, Simpang Tiga Kubang Semang,
00:42where he enjoyed nasi kandar.
00:44Accompanying him were Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul
00:50Tengku Abdul Aziz, Human Resources Minister Stephen Sim, and Penang Police Chief Datuk
00:57Hamzah Ahmad.
00:59Anwar spent about 30 minutes mingling with visitors, who were treated to a free lunch.
