00:00August 16, a 37-year-old man from Quezon City started having symptoms of mpox.

00:09Six days later, he was admitted to the hospital.

00:12Then, a specimen was taken to the RITM for a test.

00:16August 26, the result came out.

00:19He was the first resident of Quezon City who tested positive for mpox.

00:23According to the Quezon City Health Department Epidemiology and Surveillance Division,

00:28the patient has a local travel history and is now admitted to San Lazaro Hospital.

00:33The QCLGO is now monitoring the 15 infected patients.

00:37Five of them are still recovering.

00:39Because skin-to-skin contact is the way to fight mpox,

00:43should there be social distancing again to avoid spreading like COVID-19?

00:49We don't see the need for social distancing.

00:52COVID-19 is airborne.

00:55Mpox is skin-to-skin.
