00:00Many of you are aware that following the Notting Hill Carnival we shared
00:03information about two people with very serious injuries. I'm very sad to tell
00:10you now that both have since died. First I'll talk to you about Monsieur Imnatil.
00:19Monsieur was 41 years old and he was visiting the UK from Dubai. He was found
00:25unconscious with a head injury in Queensway at 11.22 on Monday the 26th of
00:32August. Officers and paramedics provided emergency first aid and Monsieur was
00:39taken to hospital where despite the best efforts of medical staff he sadly died
00:45on Friday afternoon. A 31 year old man is already charged with causing grievous
00:52bodily harm with intent and the matter is now being treated as a murder
00:58investigation. I will now talk to you about Cher Maximin. Cher who was 32 years
01:07old was stabbed on Goulburn Road shortly before 6 p.m. on Sunday the 25th of
01:14August. Officers and paramedics provided first aid and Cher was transported to
01:20hospital in a critical condition. Despite the hard work of medical staff
01:27Cher sadly died this morning. Cher was at carnival with her young child who is safe
01:35and is being cared for. On Tuesday morning officers arrested a 20 year old man who
01:42has already been charged with attempted murder.
01:46This case is also now a murder investigation.
01:52The news of both Cher's and Monsieur's tragic deaths is devastating for both
01:58families. My thoughts are with them as they come to terms with their imaginable
02:03loss.
