00:00We talked about last week.
00:03We dug into how do you prepare for the season that God is pulling you into next.
00:09And so as you remember, we talked about number one is to live by the Spirit.
00:15Number two, to overcome fear and discouragement.
00:18We don't want anything to paralyze us or to stop us from moving forward into the good
00:23things that God has for us.
00:25Number three, we talked about be ready to get up and move.
00:29And this morning we were singing put your shoes on and have your lamps lit so we can
00:36be ready to move with God so that we can see in the darkness.
00:41And then number four, we talked about radical obedience.
00:44How do I prepare for the next season that God is pulling me into is through an area
00:49of radical obedience.
00:51And one of the things that God said to me is that I'm still the same God that gives
00:55crazy instructions that yield supernatural results.
01:01And so God is a God.
01:02He's not changing.
01:04He's the same yesterday, today, and forever.
01:07And so the same God that we read about in the Bible, the same God that we hear about
01:11in the revivals of old, the same God that we've heard through our neighbors around us,
01:16God is still that same God.
01:18And so he's looking to give you the instructions that will yield supernatural results in your
01:23life.
01:24And whether or not we're listening to them, and then whether or not we're obedient to
01:27them when he gives it to us.
01:29And so we dug into last week the story in Judges chapter seven with Gideon and his army
01:35and how they were radically obedient to God.
01:38And here they were in this position where God had him narrow down his army, which was
01:42over 20,000 people, and whittled it all the way down to 300.
01:47And then when he has those 300 men, do y'all remember what he put in their hands?
01:51He put in their torch and a horn.
01:55And so this didn't make any sense to go to war with a torch and a horn, but here, because
02:01they were obedient to God, when they cracked those clay pots that was covering the fire
02:07and the light was exposed, it began to dispel the darkness.
02:10And as they blew those horns, it says the enemy ran around and killed themselves.
02:15And so here was, they didn't even have to fight their own war.
02:17Why?
02:18Because they were radically obedient to God.
02:21And so you can imagine if you're radically obedient to the instructions that God has
02:26given you, what will he do for you?
02:28Like it may not be a whole army of people coming after you to kill you, but there is
02:32some opposition that the enemy wants to keep you from moving into your destiny.
02:36There are things that the enemy would love to keep you out of, that he would love to
02:40keep you broke, that he would love to keep you sick.
02:42He would love to keep you in depression and in defeat, and God is putting some things
02:46in your hand.
02:48He would destroy every enemy that is coming against you.
02:53But this morning, I wanted to look a little bit before this story, right?
02:58And you know, in this story, in Judges chapter six, we find out why they got in this position
03:03in the first place, or why they had to defeat this enemy.
03:08And I wrote this, that sometimes, you know, you may find yourself in a season that you
03:12should not be in because of disobedience.
03:15And so, of course, radical obedience propels me, or puts me in a place to walk into my
03:19next season, but disobedience will have you being somewhere you shouldn't be longer than
03:24you should be.
03:27And so the Israelites, or in this story, God's people have found themselves in a place where
03:32they had to go to war against an oppression because of their disobedience.
03:38And so I want to look at that in Judges chapter six.
03:43In verse one through six in the New Living Translation, here's what it says about their
03:48story.
03:49It says, the Israelites did evil in the Lord's sight.
03:51It says, so the Lord handed over them to the Midianites for seven years, and the Midianites
03:56were so cruel, it says that the Israelites made hiding places for themselves in the mountains,
04:02caves, and strongholds.
04:04And whenever the Israelites planted their crops, it says, marauders from Midian, Amalek,
04:08and the people of the east would attack Israel.
04:11It says, camping in the land and destroying crops as far away as Gaza.
04:16They left the Israelites with nothing to eat, taking all the sheep, goats, cattle, and donkeys.
04:23These enemy hordes coming with their livestock and tents were as thick as locusts.
04:28Since they arrived on droves of camels, too numerous to count, it says, and they stayed
04:34until the land was stripped bare, and so Israel was reduced to starvation by the Midianites.
04:40It says, then the Israelites cried out to the Lord for help.
04:43And so here in this story, we find the children of Israel, God's people, it says, they did
04:47evil in the sight of the Lord, and because of their evil, all of these things came about.
04:51They began to then be oppressed by the Midianites to the point, it says, they couldn't eat.
04:56They were hiding.
04:58They were depressed.
04:59It says, they were overcome with evil, it says, they took away their livestock, it says,
05:04to the point that they were stripped bare.
05:07And there are times like when you're disobedient to God, when you're doing evil before him,
05:11it seems like nothing's working out.
05:13You feel like you're stripped bare, you're beat down, you're beat up, like nothing's
05:16working out because you're in a place that you have no business.
05:21And so, but here it is, when the children of Israel found themselves in a place where
05:24they had no business, what did they do?
05:26They cried out to the Lord for help.
05:29And God is such a good father that at any time, somebody say at any time, you find yourself
05:36in a place that you have no business.
05:38You realize, God, I've been disobedient, I've been out of line, I've been in places I shouldn't
05:42be.
05:43If you just cry out to the Lord for help, he will cause you, remember, to destroy you,
05:49he will cause your enemies to be destroyed.
05:53And so sometimes we find ourselves in places of oppression because of our own sin.
05:59And we don't want to be in those places.
06:02Verse seven through 10 says, when they cried out to the Lord because of Midian, the Lord
06:07sent a prophet to the Israelites.
06:09So here it is, right in the middle of your mess, sometimes God will come and give you
06:13a word to pull you out of where you've been.
06:17It says, verse eight, the Lord sent a prophet to Israelites.
06:20He said, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says, I brought you up out of slavery
06:25in Egypt.
06:26I rescued you from the Egyptians, from all who oppressed you.
06:29I drove out your enemies and gave you their land.
06:33Here it is, the prophet reminding them what God has already done and what he'll do for
06:37them again.
06:38Verse 10, he says, I told you, I am the Lord, your God.
06:43You must not worship the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live.
06:48It says, but you have not listened to me.
06:51And so again, we never want that to be our story, that we are somewhere that we shouldn't
06:55be, that we're oppressed, that we're hiding, that we're beat down because we just didn't
07:00listen to God.
07:02Remember, God has given us signs of what he wants to do in you.
07:06He's putting signs about what he wants to do around you, what's to come, and it's just
07:10whether or not we're listening.
07:13And so we don't want to be the people who says we just ignoring God, we're not listening
07:16to him.
07:17And because of that, we find ourself in a season and we're wandering around the desert
07:20when God wants to bring us into the promised land.
07:24Verse 11 through 12, says, then the angel of the Lord came and sat beneath the great
07:32tree at Ophrah, which belonged to Joash and the clan of Abiezar.
07:37Gideon son of Joash was threshing wheat at the bottom of a winepress to hide the grain
07:42from the Midianites.
07:44So here is Gideon, of course, this is before he had this amazing battle, and because they
07:48were oppressed, he's hiding.
07:50But here's what the angel of the Lord says to him in verse 12.
07:54He says, mighty hero, the Lord is with you.
07:59Now this is crazy.
08:00Like, why would you come to somebody who's hiding from the enemy and say, you're a mighty
08:04hero.
08:05It's like, God, do you see what we see?
08:08I'm like, he's a punk, like, you know, like he has no guts.
08:14There's no bravery in him.
08:16He's hiding, but here it is.
08:18God is calling him out of where he is into his destiny.
08:21He's calling out who it really is on the inside of him.
08:24And you know, God sees us for who we really are, even when we don't.
08:29Like there's times when it's like you live in this city, God will come to you like, daughter,
08:33you're pure.
08:34And it's like, I was just sleeping around last night.
08:36God, you're holy.
08:37I was just smoking weed.
08:38You're blessed, you're prosperous, I'm broken.
08:41God will call you names to pull you out into your destiny because he can see your future
08:47before you.
08:50He knows who we really are, even when we don't know ourselves.
08:55I remember when God first gave me the name of being the great adventurer and I laughed
09:00because I grew up shy and not outgoing and I didn't want to go anywhere and people would
09:04invite me to go on mission trips and I'd be like, where are we going to sleep and where
09:08are we going to eat?
09:09And I'd be like, no, thank you.
09:10I'll pass.
09:11Like I have no, I'm good with American luxury.
09:14Like I grew up as underneath my mama, like I was the kid, people would talk to me and
09:18I would cry.
09:19Like here it was.
09:20But God was like, no, like there's something on the inside of you that's greater than what
09:24you're even aware of.
09:27And fast forward years later, we've been to Mexico, China, Nicaragua, Zimbabwe, and the
09:31gospel is being preached.
09:33And so here, God wants to call you names.
09:38He will tell you things about yourself.
09:40He will come to you right in the middle of your mess and give you a word to set you free
09:44because he doesn't want us to stay in that place of oppression.
09:51And so sometimes he will give you a name or he will give you a word that doesn't match
09:55where you are, but it's meant to propel you into your next.
10:00And so if you pay attention to the words you're receiving right now, what God is saying about
10:06you today, you will begin to see, okay, where are we going next?
10:10Like God, wait, why would you say that about me?
10:12Like I don't even have the confidence for that.
10:14Like I've never done that before.
10:15And God is giving you words because he can see what's in you before you can see it.
10:21Even when you don't think you're capable, like how can I start this business?
10:24Like I don't, I don't know enough people.
10:25I don't have enough resources that God will continue to give you vision.
10:30He'll give you insight.
10:31He'll give you signs.
10:32He'll begin to speak to you because he's looking to propel you into your destiny.
10:38Let's look at verse 14 through 16, says, then the Lord turned to him, here's what he
10:45said to Gideon in the middle of his hiding, says, go with the strength you have and rescue
10:51Israel from the Midianites.
10:54He says, I am sending you, turn to your neighbor and say, God is sending you.
11:00Says, but Lord, Gideon replied, how can I rescue Israel?
11:05My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh.
11:09And I'm the least in my entire family.
11:12And the Lord said to him, I will be with you.
11:15Turn to your neighbor and say, God will be with you.
11:20Say it again.
11:21Say God will be with you.
11:24How can you do anything that God is calling you to do?
11:28It's simply because God is with you.
11:32Like in and of ourselves, we all can be like Gideon.
11:35There's nothing great about me.
11:37There's nothing special about me.
11:38There's nothing important about me.
11:40But if God is with me, if God goes before me, if God is in me, I can do all things.
11:48I may not know the words to say, I may not know the things to do, but as long as God
11:53is with me, we can do it.
11:59And so here he goes on to say, I'm the least in my family.
12:01And the Lord said to him, I will be with you and you will destroy the Midianites.
12:07It says as if you were fighting against one man.
12:11Here is the prophecy coming to him before it even happened.
12:14Before they got to that place where they had the 300 men fighting against the whole army,
12:18God says to him, you're going to fight this battle as if you're fighting against one man.
12:24That's supernatural.
12:26So God, he look, he will put you in places, look, he didn't take them out of the battle,
12:31but he put them in the place where they were fighting it supernaturally.
12:36And so sometimes remember the situation around us may not change, but your posture on your
12:40inside changes and you realize, hey, God is with me.
12:45God is for me.
12:47Who can stand against me?
12:53Many times we look at what we have to determine what God can do for us, but God, what God
13:01wants to do for us is supernatural.
13:04And so you can't look at your hands.
13:05You can't look at your feet.
13:06You can't look at your own mouth.
13:07You can't look at how you look, what's in your pockets to determine what God would do
13:11for you.
13:13What God wants to do for you is supernatural.
13:15I feel like we should say, we're doing a lot of confessions this morning, say what God
13:19wants to do for me.
13:22Supernatural.
13:25And God did just as he said on behalf of Gideon and he used a small army to defeat the Midianites.
13:33God is so good.
13:35So how do you prepare again for the season that God is calling you into?
13:40We say radical obedience and then next to allow Holy Spirit to guide you.
13:46Remember first Corinthians chapter two and verse nine in the mirror translation, it says
13:50it is written what has been concealed for ages in a realm inaccessible to the senses,
13:57what no human eye could catch a glimpse of, nor man's ear could hear a whisper of, neither
14:03could the inquiring mind decipher the code of that mystery, which God has already fully
14:09arranged and is ready to reveal to those who love him.
14:13And so those that there are things that have been concealed, which cannot be discerned
14:18by natural means.
14:20And it says it cannot be discerned by your human senses, meaning that you can't see with
14:23your eyes.
14:24You can't hear with your natural ears.
14:26You may not be able to taste it or smell it.
14:29It says, but there are things that Holy Spirit is looking to reveal to those who simply love
14:33him and he will reveal it to you by the spirit.
14:36And so we want to allow Holy Spirit to guide us because if we only live by our senses alone,
14:42we will miss it.
14:43If we only live by what we see, we will miss out on those things.
14:46So here is Holy Spirit coming alongside you to say, I know it looks this way, but let
14:51me tell you what's really happening in the spirit.
14:54Let me reveal to you those things that have been concealed.
14:57And so again, we just have to pay attention to the signs that God is giving us, pointing
15:03us to the season he's moving us into.
15:07First Corinthians chapter two and verse 10 in the New Living Translation, it says, but
15:14it was to us that God revealed these things again by his spirit, for his spirit searches
15:22out everything and shows us God's deep secrets.
15:27And so Holy Spirit will come alongside to you and he will reveal to you the deep secrets
15:32of God.
15:34And I feel like that's just such an honor and a privilege to hear secrets from God.
15:39I don't know if anybody's ever been in school, like maybe elementary school, high school,
15:44and it's like you, cause maybe we grown now, that don't happen anymore when you get old.
15:47But when you in school, right, and you hear people, they whispering and like giggling
15:51and laughing about something and you don't know what they laughing about.
15:53You're like, what y'all whispering about?
15:55What y'all giggling about?
15:56It's like, you want to get it on the secret.
15:58And here it is.
15:59Like there are whispers that are happening in heaven.
16:02There are whispers that are coming from the mouth of God.
16:05It's like, who's like, Hey God, like what's happening?
16:07What are y'all laughing at?
16:08God, what are you doing?
16:09What are you saying?
16:10Like, what are the whispers that are happening in heaven?
16:11It says God is looking to reveal to you the deep secrets of God.
16:20We are privileged to be those who get to hear the secrets from God that are being whispered
16:26in the heavens.
16:27And he's looking to reveal it to you and I.
16:31Matthew chapter 13 verse 11 through 15 says, he replied, you've been given insights.
16:39Say I've been given insight into God's kingdom and you know how it works.
16:46Not everybody has this gift or this insight.
16:49It hasn't been given to them.
16:51Whenever someone has a ready heart for this, the insights and understandings flow freely.
16:57But if there is no readiness, any trace of receptivity soon disappears.
17:03So that's why I tell stories to create readiness, to nudge the people towards a welcome awakening.
17:10In this present state, they can stare until doomsday and not see it.
17:14They can listen until they're blue in the face and not get it.
17:18It says, I don't want that for you.
17:19It says, I don't want Isaiah's forecast repeated all over again.
17:23That your ears are open, but you don't hear a thing.
17:25That your eyes are awake, but you don't see a thing.
17:28It says, the people are stupid.
17:29They stick their fingers in their ears so they won't have to listen and they screw their
17:34eyes shut so they won't have to look.
17:36It says, so they won't have to deal with me face to face and let me heal them.
17:40This is painting a picture of what they look like in Judges chapter six.
17:43It says, you had your ears, your fingers in your ears, so you can't hear what God's saying
17:47to you.
17:48They weren't listening to God and because of that, they were oppressed.
17:50So they had their eyes shut so they couldn't hear what God was saying because they didn't
17:55want to face God face to face.
17:56And he says, and here's what would happen.
17:58God says, if you let me get in your face, I'll heal you.
18:04And it's like, you know, sin makes you be like the Israelites.
18:07It makes you hide.
18:09It makes you be in a place of oppression, makes you run away from God.
18:12And God's like, no, when you're in your mess, when you're in your sin, when you're disobedient,
18:17if you just let me get in your face, I will heal you.
18:23And so how do I move from being in this place?
18:25I shouldn't be in God.
18:26I know I shouldn't be here.
18:27I know I shouldn't be talking to this man.
18:28I know I should have been drinking that water.
18:29I know I should have been doing the things that I'm doing.
18:30God's like, I'm looking to move you.
18:31He says, just get in my face.
18:32I want to heal you.
18:33And so how do we get out from one season we shouldn't have had no business in is to get
18:43in the face of God.
18:46And that's what we're going to do.
18:47We're going to get in God's face.
18:48We're going to allow Holy Spirit to guide us.
18:53So we can heal us because when you're against change or when you don't prepare yourself
18:58for the season, it says now receptivity disappears and we never want to be in a place where it's
19:05like God is whispering things to us.
19:07God is speaking to us.
19:09He's looking to lead us, but we don't even have no area, no way to receive it because
19:14of our disobedience because we're not listening to God because we're not looking him face
19:18to face.
19:19So any receptivity that we had to the spirit of God disappears and you can do that sometimes
19:25like you can get so far gone in your sin, you get so comfortable in it and you can be
19:30surrounded by other people who tell you, you good, you all right, it don't take all that.
19:35You don't need to go to that church.
19:36You don't need to be in prayer.
19:38Like it's okay if you do this or do that.
19:40And now receptivity to the voice of God is slowly disappearing.
19:45He says, but God says, if you just get in my face, I'll heal you.
19:50If you just get in my face, I will open up your ears.
19:52I will open up your eyes to see what is happening in the realm of the spirit.
19:56I will cause you to live by a greater reality than the things that are happening in this
20:00world.
20:02In the scripture it says, here's what God's looking to do with you.
20:05He says, I'm looking to nudge people towards an awakening.
20:09So God is looking to wake you up.
20:13Don't be sleeping.
20:14Don't shut your ears.
20:16Don't close your eyes to God.
20:17He wants to wake you up.
20:20You know, in this story, again, in Judges chapter seven, we talked about how God had
20:25given them instructions and they had a horns in their hands.
20:29And so horns again were used as trumpets representing power and authority.
20:35They communicated what a kingdom was doing or what was coming.
20:40And so God wants to give you signs, remember, of what is happening and what is to come.
20:45And so they were used to give instructions and usher in a new proclamation or a new system.
20:51And so here's what the horns represented.
20:53Well, I come to tell you this morning, we are living horns.
20:59Say I am a living horn.
21:03And so we must take a good look at those around us, those that are alive in this season.
21:09Remember to honor them because they are the living strategies and the answer prayers of
21:15God in the earth.
21:16We are the living horns of God declaring there's a new system in place.
21:21There's a new proclamation.
21:22Jesus is coming.
21:27Our lives are living prophecies of what God is going to do.
21:34One day God said to me, if you want to know what I'm doing in the earth, look at what
21:38I'm doing in you.
21:41And if you would just pay attention to the signs, if you pay attention to what God is
21:45doing in your spirit, if you pay attention to how Holy Spirit is leading you, you will
21:49recognize that you are the living sign.
21:51You are the living horn of heaven.
21:53And if you just announce what God is doing in you, things would change.
22:01And John chapter three in verse eight, it says the wind blows wherever it wants.
22:07Jesus says you can hear the wind, but you can't tell where it comes from or where it
22:11is going.
22:12It says, so you can't explain how people are born of the spirit.
22:15And I say to you, we are like the wind.
22:19It says those that are born of the spirit, those that have given their lives to God,
22:22those that walk in the spirit says you are like the wind and God is blowing new winds
22:28upon the earth.
22:29And so every time a new person is birthed into the earth, there's a new wind that's
22:33blowing.
22:34There's something that's happening.
22:35There's a strategy of heaven that has been released because God is answering the prayers
22:40of those that have gone before us in the wombs of men.
22:45And so you are the new winds blowing in the earth and you, and God needs the winds to
22:53fulfill his plans of what he wants to do in the earth.
22:57He is in need of you to fulfill the plans of what he wants to do in the earth.
23:02And so the question is, well, what happens when new wind blows?
23:07Ezekiel chapter 37, you're going to look at this story.
23:15Ezekiel chapter 37, verse four through 14, we'll look at in the New Living Translation.
23:23Okay, so then he said to me, speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, dry bones,
23:37listen to the message of the Lord.
23:39Listen to the word of the Lord.
23:41This is what the sovereign Lord says, look, I am going to put breath into you and make
23:46you live again.
23:48I will put flesh and muscles on you and cover you with skin.
23:52I will put breath into you and you will come to life and then you will know that I am the
23:57Lord.
23:58It says, so as I spoke this message, if y'all got that, that track for me, y'all can play
24:03it now.
24:04It says, verse seven, it says, so I spoke this message just as he told me.
24:09Suddenly as I spoke, it says, there was a rattling noise all across the valley.
24:14It says, the bones of each body came together and attached themselves as complete skeletons.
24:20It says, then as I watched the muscle and flesh formed over the bones, then skin formed
24:25to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them.
24:29Then he said to them, speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man, speak a prophetic
24:35message and say, this is what the sovereign Lord says, come, oh breath from the four winds,
24:43breathe into these dead bodies so that they may live again.
24:47It says, so I spoke the message as he commanded me and breath came into their bodies.
24:53They all came to life and stood upon their feet, a great army.
24:59Verse 11, then he said to me, son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel.
25:05It represented people that have been dead, that represent the people that have not been
25:09alive.
25:10Since they are seven, we have become old and dry bones since all hope is gone.
25:15Our nation is finished and therefore it says the prophecy to them says, this is what the
25:19sovereign Lord says, oh my people, I will open your graves of exile and I will cause
25:25you to rise again.
25:29God says, I will cause you to rise again.
25:35Let me tell you, there is a wind that is blowing in the spirit.
25:38There are winds of change and God is saying he is coming to put flesh and muscle back
25:44on every skeleton, back on every dry bone, there are winds of change of what God is doing
25:49in the spirit.
25:50It's just who is listening to it?
25:57In verse 14, he says, I will put my spirit in you and you will live again and return
26:03home to your own land and then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken, I have done
26:08what I said.
26:09Yes, the Lord has spoken.
26:12You know, sometimes it seems like you are in a valley of dry bones, just like he was
26:16in this passage.
26:17It says, you're asking God, is there still life in this place?
26:21God, is there still life in me?
26:22God, can you do anything with me?
26:24God, I know I haven't been in the place where I've been.
26:27I've just been bones.
26:28God, is it possible for you to breathe life for me again?
26:31God, is it possible for you to breathe life in our church?
26:34Is it possible for this place to be filled with the presence of God?
26:38Is it possible for every seat to be filled in this sanctuary?
26:41Is it possible?
26:44And we're asking God, is it possible?
26:47And God says that he will answer our cries with wind.
26:54And so in the scripture it says, speak to the winds, tell them to blow.
27:00So we have the right to command the winds to blow and to bring in the winds of change
27:05of what God wants to do.
27:07We cannot settle.
27:08We cannot be complacent for a church that is not filled with people that are hungry
27:12for the power and the presence of God.
27:17We're not satisfied with just doing church as normal.
27:21There's a world that is waiting for the winds to blow.
27:26They're waiting for people to rise up and say, God, we're looking for you to show up
27:30and cause us to rise again.
27:34Here's what we need.
27:35There is a community of people waiting for the winds of change.
27:40They're in need of God.
27:41There are people that are still sitting at home watching service on TV and they're missing
27:46out on the winds of change.
27:47God is looking to draw us back into his heart.
27:55And so we tell them to blow.
27:57When we tell the winds to blow, what are we commanding to happen?
28:03In the passage it talks about, come, oh breath from the four winds.
28:09Says there's an east wind.
28:11And that east wind brings in correction and judgment against the forces of darkness.
28:17Let me tell you, there have been darkness that are trying to keep people in bondage.
28:21There are people that try to keep them at home.
28:23There are people that try to keep them in their sin, keep them hiding, keep them oppressed.
28:26And it says when you command the east wind, here's what's happening.
28:31It brings correction and judgment against the forces of darkness.
28:35You no longer have access in this place.
28:39We saw the east wind in the passage of Exodus chapter 14 and verse 21 when the Moses part
28:46at the Red Sea and they drowned their enemy.
28:49Here was the east wind coming in to destroy the darkness, to keep what was keeping them
28:54out of the promised land.
28:55It drowned their enemies.
28:56And so we're going to command the east wind.
29:00Then there's the west wind.
29:03And when you command the west winds to blow, it says it brings deliverance and mercy.
29:08And there are people that we are in need of God's deliverance.
29:11We are in need of his power for our country, for our nation.
29:14We need God's mercy upon us.
29:16And so when you command those winds to blow, it says it's bringing in deliverance and mercy.
29:23We saw the commanding of the west wind happening in Exodus chapter 10 and verse 19 when it
29:29says the west wind took away the locusts, which was one of the plagues that happened
29:33when Moses was coming against the Egyptians.
29:36When the west wind blew, it took away the locusts.
29:39And so we need God's mercy upon us.
29:41We need the winds to blow.
29:44Because the wind has both, even though it has destructive power, but it is essential
29:49for progress.
29:52Then there's the north wind.
29:55And the north wind brings the calming, soothing presence of God, driving away all that was
30:01against us.
30:02We are in need of God's presence.
30:05Like if God's not here, what is the point?
30:08We need the presence of God.
30:10We need his calming.
30:11We need his peace.
30:12We need his presence in the middle of the storm to drive out anything that comes against
30:16us.
30:17And so when you command the winds, when you command the north wind, it comes with the
30:21presence of God.
30:23We see this in Proverbs chapter 25 and verse 23, and this is when it comes and it brings
30:29unexpected rain.
30:31It's like there's times when God's presence showed up and it just rains and it's just
30:34good like God didn't even anticipate you in this way, but his calming, soothing presence
30:39shows up.
30:40You know, there's sometimes I can just be doing regular, normal life, sitting on the
30:44couch, driving my car, all of a sudden waves of his presence begin to blow.
30:48You begin to feel his presence.
30:50Anybody had that happen to you before?
30:51It's like, like you wasn't praying, you wasn't worshiping, all of a sudden you just start
30:54to feel him.
30:55It's like, hey, here's the winds of his presence blowing upon you and it's like, okay, God,
31:01what do you want?
31:02What do you want to do?
31:03Like, why are you here?
31:04I'm just coming with my presence.
31:07And then we have the south wind.
31:09It says it brings prosperity, blessing, provision, and restoration.
31:14Like we've been broke too long.
31:16Like we've been allowing money to, to determine what we can and cannot do too long.
31:20When you command that wind to blow, it says there's prosperity, there's blessing, there's
31:24restoration.
31:25God says when you command the winds to blow, there's everything that you need.
31:30Everything that you need to fulfill God's plan for you.
31:33Everything that you need for your next season, it comes in the wind.
31:37We saw this in Psalms chapter 78 in verse 25 through 27.
31:43I'm not reading these passages, but when it talks about how they rain, God rained down
31:47a quail from heaven.
31:48When the children of Israel were in need of food and God supernaturally supplied them,
31:53it's because they commanded that wind to blow.
31:55The wind blew and quails started dropping out of heaven.
31:58They was able to eat for days.
31:59And so I want some, I want some winds to blow so that we can have everything that we need.
32:05We can send as many people overseas that we can affect the community, that we can bless
32:09as many people as we need to because the winds of change are blowing and they're blowing
32:13in prosperity.
32:18And so what happens when new wind blows?
32:23Let's look at Acts chapter 2.
32:28It says, when the feast of Pentecost came, I feel like I want that wind sound again.
32:36Can you play it for me again?
32:39It says, when the feast of Pentecost came, so they were all together in one place and
32:45then it says without warning, somebody say without warning, there was a sound like a
32:50strong wind, a gale force that no one could tell where it came from.
32:56It says it filled the whole building, it says then like a wildfire, the Holy Spirit spread
33:02through their ranks.
33:03So good.
33:04It says, and they started speaking in a number of different languages as the spirit prompted
33:11them.
33:12There were many Jews staying in Jerusalem just then, devout pilgrims from all over the
33:16world.
33:17And when they heard the sound, they came on the run.
33:21So here it is, it says without warning, the winds of the Holy Spirit blew in that place.
33:26The Holy Spirit filled their ranks and there was a sound that began to come out of the
33:30people of God.
33:31They begin to pray another time, they begin to, and as they begin to pray, it says people
33:40heard the sound and they begin to run towards the sound.
33:49I'm trying to tell you, when we command the winds to blow, there will be a sound that
33:54will come out of you.
33:55There will be a sound that will come out of this house that will cause people to run into
34:00the house of God.
34:01Like what's happening in there?
34:02Who's moving?
34:03How, what is Holy Spirit doing?
34:04Let me get to church.
34:05Here's what's going to happen.
34:06God is going to cause people to run and sprint into the house of God.
34:14Look, the word wind in this passage, it says it comes from the Greek word, pnoe, p-n-o-e,
34:23however you pronounce it.
34:26It says, which describes wind so loud that one may be tempted to cover his ears from
34:32the overpowering noise of it.
34:35And so this means that when the Spirit was poured out, it was not a quiet affair.
34:40It was loud.
34:41It was noisy.
34:42It was violent.
34:43And here's what happened in that space.
34:46It says there was over a hundred people gathered in that room.
34:49That wind blew in there and transformed over a hundred people to be the ones that were
34:54radically changed the face of this globe that will preach the gospel to the ends of
34:58this earth.
34:59Here it is.
35:00The winds blew and it caused transformation.
35:05Here it was every day, men and women were radically changed by the winds of God.
35:12And so here's what God's going to do with you and I.
35:14When the winds blow, you'll be radically transformed into preachers of the gospel.
35:22I love how it says, when people heard the sounds of the new winds, it says people came
35:27on the run.
35:31They came sprinting towards God like, I got to get in church.
35:35I got to get to God.
35:36Like they heard something that caused them to run towards God.
35:41We talked about this in Philippians chapter 3 verse 14 in the voice translation.
35:45It says, I am sprinting.
35:47Here's what we want to do.
35:48Towards the only goal that counts.
35:51To cross the line.
35:52To win the prize.
35:54And to hear God's call to resurrection life found exclusively in Jesus the anointed.
36:00And so there was a sound that came out of those when the Holy Spirit showed up that
36:05drew others to come and sprint.
36:07That drew others to say, hey, I'm coming towards God now.
36:10And so I believe that will happen.
36:13You know, when God formed man in the beginning, he formed him perfectly.
36:19But he had no breath in his lungs until God breathed his spirit went into him.
36:24Then he became a living soul.
36:26Then he became filled with the power and the presence of God.
36:29And so it was the same way with those church in that day.
36:32Here they were assembled on the day of Pentecost.
36:34And they had no power.
36:36And it says, until the Holy Spirit breathed into that place.
36:40And now when the wind blew, they became empowered.
36:43They became a mighty force in the earth as a result of the winds that were blowing.
36:47And so there are winds of change that are happening in our church.
36:50There are winds of change that are happening among us.
36:53And so when that winds blow, it's going to empower you to be a radical transformer of
36:58the kingdom of God.
37:01And so wind produces energy.
37:06And when Holy Spirit blows as the wind, it produces supernatural energy to accomplish
37:11the plans of God.
37:13Look, this is not in your natural efforts.
37:15This is not in what you can do or how you can make it happen or how you can figure it
37:19out.
37:20It says when the winds of change blow, when Holy Spirit begins to blow, it says he will
37:24blow upon your natural efforts and it will become supernatural.
37:30The wind of his spirit empowers us to do what we could not do on our own.
37:38Acts chapter 2 and verse 22.
37:42It says, fellow Israelites, listen carefully to these words.
37:47Jesus, the Nazarene, a man thoroughly accredited by God to you.
37:51The miracles and wonders and signs that God did through him are common knowledge.
37:57It says this Jesus was following the deliberate and well-thought-out plan of God.
38:02And so God wants to do miracles, wonders, and signs through you, fulfilling his deliberate
38:09and well-thought-out plan.
38:11And so we get to be the living horns, announcing the new season, announcing what God wants
38:18to do.
38:19Hey, there's a God that loves you.
38:20There's a God that's bringing change.
38:21There's a God that's empowering us to do great things.
38:24We get to be living horns.
38:26We also get to be announcers of who Jesus is.
38:29And we got to see this in the life of John the Baptist.
38:32Like he is an example of somebody who was a living horn.
38:35He was announcing the coming of Jesus before people were even aware.
38:41And remember we talked about how you have to honor each other on the point.
38:44Because there's somebody else, like somebody may be a John the Baptist and they're aware
38:48before you are.
38:49Like, hey, Jesus is here.
38:50He's on the scene.
38:51Let me point you to the one.
38:53If we honor them, we'll be able to see as well.
38:56But here it is.
38:57God is calling us to be living horns, announcing change.
39:01We are to be the living winds of God in the earth.
39:05That when we are born of the spirit, when we give our lives to God, it says we are like
39:09the wind.
39:10And so everywhere you go, on your workplace, in your school, in the grocery stores, you
39:16are the living wind of God.
39:17And there's an empowerment by Holy Spirit for you to transform the world around you
39:22with his power and with his presence.
39:26In Psalms chapter 104, in verse 4, in the voice translation, it says, you make your
39:34messengers like the winds.
39:37The breeze whispers your words.
39:40And so here's what God is doing again.
39:42We are messengers of God.
39:43And God says he will make you like the wind.
39:47That as you breeze through, you will be whispering the words of God.
39:50That you'll be carrying the presence of God.
39:52And that with each one of those winds described, it will be carried with you.
39:56That as you go, they will be like, hey, there's an east wind blowing.
39:59I see there's correction and judgment to darkness.
40:02That in this place where there was darkness, now there's light.
40:05Hey, I sense there's a west wind blowing.
40:07There's deliverance and mercy for you that you encounter somebody on the street who's
40:11in need of God's saving power, who's addicted.
40:14And all of a sudden, there's a deliverance and mercy being poured out upon them because
40:18there's a wind blowing.
40:19Then there's a north wind that's bringing the presence, the soothing presence of God.
40:23There's somebody who's in need of his peace that, hey, as soon as you show up now, there's
40:27peace on the scene.
40:28Why?
40:29Because there's a wind that's blowing.
40:31There's a south wind bringing prosperity.
40:34People are in need of God's saving power of his goodness and his mercy.
40:40And here it is, the wind blows and there's prosperity and there's restoration.
40:45And so sometimes as his signs, as his wind, as his trumpets, we are announcing the season
40:52of God's favor.
40:53And when you would do it in the spirit, when Holy Spirit comes upon you, when you're praying
40:57in new tongues, sometimes even when you're prophesying in English, you could be prophesying
41:01things you don't even know you're saying.
41:03Don't even understand what you're praying into.
41:06God's like, you have no idea what I'm about to do.
41:10Sometimes we're announcing things in the spirit we don't even know.
41:13You know, last week at the end of, I shared the message and I began to pray a little bit
41:18in tongues.
41:19And it was a little bit crazy because there was a comment that went online saying, how
41:22could you pray in tongues?
41:23There was no interpretation.
41:24And I'm like, you just got to follow Holy Spirit sometimes.
41:27Because after service, I get home and my brother texts me and he's watching the service online.
41:33He says, hey, when you were praying in tongues, he said, I paid attention to, it was three
41:36sounds that you made, three sounds that came out of your mouth and I felt led to look them
41:40up.
41:41He says, when I looked it up, he says, one of the sounds you made was a Hebrew word.
41:45He said, that means satiety, which means to satisfy an appetite and abundance or fullness.
41:51He said, and then it was another sound you made and God and Holy Spirit drew my attention
41:55to it.
41:56He said, and they represent a oath or the house.
41:58He says, and I heard that God said he is promising favor and abundance and fullness for everyone
42:03that's in the house.
42:04I'm like, you be praying things, you don't even know what you're praying.
42:08Like you just, and God was like, there is favor, there's abundance, there's fullness
42:14for everyone in the house.
42:20And so I believe this morning, God wants us to be living horns.
42:24Stand with me.
42:25God wants us to be the living winds of God.
42:28I feel like there's a sound God wants us to make.
42:33Cue the worship, worship team.
42:36Amen.
