00:00:00The opponents, the team of JDC, Eddie Edwards and the most progressive wrestler, Brian Stokes.
00:00:30Smiles and moves, together they are The System!
00:01:01As seen, TNA dominated by The System.
00:01:05They first made their presence felt back in Hardingville in January.
00:01:09The night that this company was reborn as TNA Wrestling.
00:01:13The night Moose drew the TNA World Championship from Alex Shelling.
00:01:18Ever since, they have mowed down anyone that's opposed them.
00:01:24And here they are, in my mind, united stronger than ever.
00:01:30And to reclaim what they feel is rightfully theirs, the championships they've lost.
00:01:36The pride that's been taken from them by the likes of Joe Hendry, by the likes of Mike Santana and The Hardings.
00:01:43I do not envy our referee, Quinton Page-Principale here, trying to maintain control of these eight very dynamic, very chaotic forces in this matchup.
00:02:04You can feel the tension, this sold out crowd here in Louisville.
00:02:15Stalking against The System.
00:02:20Most people who know what's good for them are against it at first, Tom.
00:02:30Your parents had to make you take medicine when you were a kid too, but eventually you learn that it's good for you.
00:02:40And not exactly the reception that Moose, Myers, Edwards and JDC expected.
00:02:48Let's go Eddie! Let's go Eddie!
00:02:52Let's go Eddie!
00:02:59Now Mike Santana staring right at Moose, the face of the franchise.
00:03:04Remember, it was Moose who gave the order to JDC to take out Mike Santana and beat up The Slam of Mercery.
00:03:12Now the strategy begins.
00:03:16That's a team that sticks together, that strategizes together.
00:03:21The team that huddles together, wins together Tom.
00:03:25That's football.
00:03:27It's like taking a time out after the first play of the game.
00:03:31Hey, strategy is strategy.
00:03:36Now Moose climbs back inside.
00:03:40The bell has rung, this match is officially underway.
00:03:44There's Moose, that's a leader, former world champion.
00:03:48The Caleb Williams of the system, if you will.
00:03:51You like that? How do you feel about that one?
00:03:53One Bears player ever.
00:03:56That's one more than I've ever known before.
00:04:00Outside of Walter Payton, and speaking of which, it's the Walter Payton of the system, JDC.
00:04:05Moose wanted no part of Mike Santana, back out for JDC.
00:04:10I think it's mind games, I think it's intentional.
00:04:13You think a former multi-time world champion in Moose is afraid to take on Mike Santana?
00:04:20No, no, no, he's just playing the man.
00:04:22Uh-huh.
00:04:23Now Santana, having some fun at the expense of Johnny Dango Curtis,
00:04:28who's that old adage, don't shoot the messenger.
00:04:30I don't think Mike Santana gives a damn about old adages.
00:04:34JDC is the one who assaulted him and cost him a TNA World Title shot in Slam of Mercery.
00:04:40There is still a lot of bad blood between these two.
00:04:45I agree with you.
00:04:47JDC has done a lot and done a great job of proving his loyalty to the system.
00:04:51That's very true.
00:04:56Great sparks to the top turnbuckle.
00:04:59Santana all smiles right now.
00:05:04Line up JDC here in the corner.
00:05:11Santana has been laser-locked on the system,
00:05:15and everybody foiled with them, raining down the punches here in Louisville.
00:05:26Santana is clearing out the system.
00:05:33You got to pay attention to the guy in the ring.
00:05:36There's a lot to distract you in these eight-man tag teams.
00:05:40Going back suplex there.
00:05:43It was about a week ago, on August 23rd,
00:05:46that Santana marked one year back in wrestling
00:05:50from an extremely difficult leg injury that he sustained.
00:05:54Wasn't sure if he was ever going to be able to make it back.
00:05:57He's made some critical changes in his personal life,
00:06:00changed his physical condition,
00:06:02and it's now thriving here in TNA Wrestling.
00:06:06Tag made.
00:06:07Here's Matt Hardy who also wants to get his hands on JDC
00:06:11any time he possibly can.
00:06:15Look at this.
00:06:19Jeff Hardy says yes.
00:06:20A little poetry in motion from Matt Hardy and Santana.
00:06:25And now Jeff Hardy wants in.
00:06:29Jeff Hardy on the JDC.
00:06:33And credit where it's due,
00:06:35the teamwork on the side of the Hardys,
00:06:38Santana and Hendry, is paying off.
00:06:41Remember, it was the lead up to Slammiversary.
00:06:43Hold on, cover here, and a kick out.
00:06:46The hitter for the system, JDC.
00:06:49Assaulted Jeff Hardy and Rebecca Hardy backstage that night.
00:06:54Billy and Matt Hardy dispatched JDC with prejudice at Slammiversary.
00:06:59Look, there's no doubt about it.
00:07:01You put your hands on someone close to anybody else,
00:07:05especially in this business,
00:07:07you're going to pay for it.
00:07:09As weird as it sounds,
00:07:11I give a lot of kudos to JDC,
00:07:14not for doing it,
00:07:15but for the lengths he was willing to go to
00:07:18to prove himself to Moose and to the system.
00:07:23Edwards and Matt Hardy going at it here.
00:07:27Remember the mixed tag team matchup
00:07:29that we saw between Eddie and Alicia
00:07:32and Matt and Rebecca Hardy over a month ago?
00:07:36It was by winning that matchup
00:07:38that the Hardys were granted a tag team title shot,
00:07:41which they got against Edwards and Myers.
00:07:44That was the same night in Philadelphia
00:07:46that Jeff Hardy got sent to the hospital by the system.
00:07:50Again, all instigated by JDC.
00:07:53He's done a great job of standing out here.
00:07:55Look at this.
00:07:57Everybody's starting to get tied up here.
00:07:59Oh!
00:08:00Middle of the ring!
00:08:04Joe Henry and the Hardys!
00:08:11A little three-for-two action.
00:08:18What is this?
00:08:28I just can't believe it.
00:08:30One in, one out!
00:08:32Those are the rules of a tag match,
00:08:34or in this case, three outs.
00:08:35Get out of the ring!
00:08:40The damnedest things happen around Joe Henry, I swear.
00:08:43Joe Henry, who by the way, this Sunday at NXT No Mercy,
00:08:46is going to be challenging Ethan Page
00:08:48for the NXT Championship.
00:08:50Oh!
00:08:52We could see a TNA wrestler
00:08:55capture a WWE title for the first time ever.
00:09:02Oh, Henry looking to make history this weekend.
00:09:06Wants to start it off here obviously
00:09:08with a big tag team win here.
00:09:10Send a message to the system.
00:09:13Look out!
00:09:14Now the system isolating Santana
00:09:17and wiping out any tag options.
00:09:19This is basically four on one.
00:09:25Oh!
00:09:26Santana though trying, staying defiant to the end.
00:09:29Trying to fight all four members of the system here.
00:09:35Santana somehow staying in this fight.
00:09:38Double drop kick there by Santana
00:09:40sending the system to the outside.
00:09:46And JDC over the top!
00:09:50Been a rough outing for the system thus far.
00:09:52No kidding.
00:09:53Santana holding his own here against everybody.
00:09:58That is the level of passion Mike Santana has.
00:10:02And look at Santana off of the top!
00:10:14Take another look at Santana,
00:10:16the four time TNA World Tag Team Champion
00:10:19against every member of the system.
00:10:23What a tear.
00:10:25Not only in TNA in general,
00:10:27but in this matchup that Mike Santana has been on here.
00:10:31He is relentless.
00:10:32Outlined and chopped the OIC.
00:10:34Hooked the inside leg
00:10:35and there's the entirety of the system to break that up.
00:10:39Wait a second.
00:10:41That's also a referee trying to control this matchup.
00:10:45Good luck.
00:10:46Looks like it's about to break down again.
00:10:50And all eight men go to war here at Emergence.
00:10:56Picking up where these men left off a number of weeks ago.
00:11:00We saw that beat down to the soundtrack
00:11:02as Joe Henry's music was playing.
00:11:07No kidding.
00:11:08And now everybody's spilling everywhere.
00:11:11We're left with Matt Hardy with Eddie Edwards.
00:11:16Santana who dispatched Eddie Edwards last night on impact.
00:11:22Laying the boots to Eddie Edwards here.
00:11:28Now getting a semblance of control once again.
00:11:31Matt Hardy made legal into this matchup.
00:11:40And Hardy with the elbow right to the spine.
00:11:44Hardy wants to put this one away, Tom.
00:11:47Over the twist of fate, center of the ring.
00:11:49Went for it.
00:11:50Oh, went into Myers.
00:11:52Contact there and Edwards used it to his advantage.
00:11:58Tag made.
00:11:59Now JDC is legal.
00:12:01Taking an opportunity to go after Matt Hardy.
00:12:05Like a wild dog you see JDC immediately in there.
00:12:09Tag.
00:12:10And in comes the face of the franchise.
00:12:12The two-time TNA world champion Moose.
00:12:15Hardy and Moose battled in a broken rules match
00:12:19earlier on this summer at Against All Odds live in Chicago.
00:12:24The TNA world title was on the line that night.
00:12:26Moose walked away with the championship
00:12:28but it was the night that Jeff Hardy returned to this company.
00:12:31One of the biggest moments in TNA in 2024.
00:12:35But now it's the system.
00:12:37Just like that.
00:12:39Taking over like a pack of wolves.
00:12:41Picking apart, broken Matt Hardy.
00:12:54Driving down Ryan Myers.
00:12:59Tag made.
00:13:01And Jeff Hardy no doubt has been craving this opportunity
00:13:05to get his hands on Myers and Moose.
00:13:08Former TNA world tag team champions
00:13:11who were a part of him going to the hospital
00:13:13well over a month ago.
00:13:15There's the cover.
00:13:16Oh, that's broken up quickly by Edwards.
00:13:20Great wherewithal from Edwards there,
00:13:22but he's got to be careful.
00:13:24He's got to be careful.
00:13:25He's got to be careful.
00:13:26He's got to be careful.
00:13:28Great wherewithal from Edwards there,
00:13:30protecting his tag team partner.
00:13:33Edwards volley trying to control the Hardy's corner.
00:13:37It's never an easy job in these matchups.
00:13:40Look out.
00:13:41And a whisper in the wind from a charismatic enigma.
00:13:48And Moose over the top.
00:13:53Twist of fate.
00:13:57Hardy, not done yet.
00:14:04Jeff Hardy's going to the top turnbuckle.
00:14:06He's in time for the Swanton Bomb.
00:14:08Oh, and JDC running interference.
00:14:11Jeff Hardy trying to collect himself.
00:14:14Once again, the aftermath of going was looking for Swanton
00:14:17again, but not enough time there.
00:14:21JDC bought enough time for the system in Myers to retaliate.
00:14:28They give the system an inch.
00:14:30They take 10 miles.
00:14:32And now it's Jeff Hardy who's in trouble.
00:14:46Remember, Jeff Hardy is still legal,
00:14:48so Matt Hardy, Santana, and Dentry
00:14:50trying to will Jeff Hardy back into the ring.
00:14:53He's got to make a tag here.
00:14:54That's easier said than done, as you well know.
00:14:56Absolutely.
00:14:59Just like that tag team specialist Brian Myers
00:15:02and Eddie Edwards here just using that cover.
00:15:06Oh, and a kick out by Jeff Hardy.
00:15:08Shoulders pressed down.
00:15:09Again, another kick out.
00:15:10Edwards out of frustration.
00:15:12A third cover and a kick out.
00:15:14Just relentless here with Jeff Hardy
00:15:17continuing to force him to kick out.
00:15:20Keep him going.
00:15:21Takes a lot more effort than most people say.
00:15:23I always say that.
00:15:26Cutting the ring off here at Santana now.
00:15:30Santana trying to protect Jeff Hardy there.
00:15:34I get the passion.
00:15:35I get the urge.
00:15:36But sometimes you got to be careful.
00:15:37That draws a lot of the referee's attention
00:15:39and cause more chaos than intended.
00:15:45Ripping at the nose Jeff Hardy.
00:15:53Jeff Hardy trying to scramble to the corner.
00:15:55Trying to make a tag.
00:16:00Moose positioning Jeff Hardy.
00:16:02Barry Wise in the corner.
00:16:04Jerry.
00:16:07Wise move there by Moose to drag Jeff Hardy
00:16:09immediately back to the corner.
00:16:13This has been tag team isolation 101 from the system
00:16:18when it comes to Jeff Hardy here.
00:16:25Jeff Hardy.
00:16:26Jeff Hardy.
00:16:27Jeff Hardy.
00:16:28Jeff Hardy.
00:16:29Jeff Hardy.
00:16:30Oh, stirring a burst into the top turnbuckle.
00:16:33Cover by JDC.
00:16:35And Hardy gets to the bottom rope.
00:16:37I believe in Jeff Hardy.
00:16:40Oh, Joe Hendry has infested this crowd here in Louisville.
00:16:47Now look at Jeff Hardy trying to fight through.
00:16:49Hiding into his corner.
00:16:50And DDC went to the eyes.
00:16:53Jeff Hardy into the system's corner.
00:16:58Look at this.
00:16:59Oh, Moose clearing a little bit of house
00:17:01on the opposite side of the ring.
00:17:05You can sense the frustration with Hendry and Santana.
00:17:10Jeff Hardy's been isolated.
00:17:11A cheap shot there on Matt Hardy.
00:17:13And Moose taking another swing at Santana.
00:17:18And Moose looking back at Joe Hendry.
00:17:20The only man who's been able to pin Moose in the past year.
00:17:24The reason why Moose is no longer TNA World Champion
00:17:28at this anniversary.
00:17:30Don't need any reminders of that.
00:17:32Look out.
00:17:33Over the powerbomb.
00:17:34Oh, the twist of fate by Jeff Hardy.
00:17:39That's a huge opening for Jeff Hardy here.
00:17:43With only one team member left on the apron.
00:17:47The door is open for the charismatic Enigma.
00:17:56Moose reaching for the system's corner.
00:17:59Jeff Hardy needs a tag.
00:18:01Here's Joe Hendry.
00:18:09Oh, and Hendry.
00:18:12Oh!
00:18:13All the way slam.
00:18:16Is there enough belief for Hendry to take down the entire system?
00:18:22Oh, and able to get out of the way.
00:18:26Now JNC charges after Hendry.
00:18:30All the way slam.
00:18:33Oh, now Myers.
00:18:34Myers was thinking about switching to Hendry,
00:18:36but he got Kermit's instead.
00:18:39How dare Joe Hendry.
00:18:42And another fall away slam.
00:18:46Look out though, look out.
00:18:47Oh, and a burp by Moose.
00:18:51Moose got all the way up.
00:18:52Went for the cutter.
00:18:54Nobody home.
00:18:58Simple, but very effective, Tom.
00:19:01I believe in Joe Hendry.
00:19:05I believe in Joe Hendry.
00:19:08Oh, the pop-up powerbomb by Hendry.
00:19:11Cover.
00:19:12Oh, and a kick out.
00:19:23And Joe Hendry has changed the complexion,
00:19:26has changed the entire energy makeup of this matchup,
00:19:30of this building.
00:19:33He's got a hold of Edwards, thinking about the standing ovation.
00:19:41And now Hendry and Edwards meet towards the center of the ring.
00:19:48Huge collision.
00:19:53And now it's Hendry who might look for a tag, and there it is.
00:19:58And now Matt Hardy, side effect to Eddie Edwards.
00:20:03Spear by Moose.
00:20:06Oh, and Santana trying to get involved.
00:20:09Spin the block.
00:20:11Folding Moose inside out, but look out.
00:20:15Myers able to sidestep Santana.
00:20:17Big roster cut by Myers.
00:20:21Face first goes Myers.
00:20:25Oh, look out.
00:20:26Not done yet, Tom.
00:20:30This sold-out crowd on their feet.
00:20:33Swan combo.
00:20:36But there's JDC right on his tail.
00:20:39Oh, the Falcon Arrow snuffed out Jeff Hardy.
00:20:42And now Hendry, Hendry.
00:20:45Standing ovation.
00:20:47Look out, there's Edwards.
00:20:49Oh, standing blue thunder bomb.
00:20:51It's Eddie Edwards and Hardy.
00:20:53Going for a twist of fate.
00:20:55Got it.
00:20:57Lance in the middle.
00:20:58Is that it?
00:20:59Cover.
00:21:01Oh, and Moose pulled Hardy off of the cover.
00:21:07Great job by Moose paying attention.
00:21:09Look out.
00:21:10Fate to Moose.
00:21:13Hardy dispatches Moose.
00:21:18And now it's back down to Hardy and Edwards.
00:21:21Oh.
00:21:22Oh, and a shot by Edwards.
00:21:25The referee was out on the floor checking on Moose
00:21:28after that twist of fate.
00:21:29And now.
00:21:30Boston Knee Party.
00:21:32Good knockout by Moose.
00:21:34Oh, look out.
00:21:35The referee was out on the floor checking on Moose
00:21:37after that twist of fate.
00:21:39And now.
00:21:40Boston Knee Party.
00:21:42Good night, Matt Hardy.
00:21:45The System wins.
00:21:50Here are your winners, The System.
00:21:55I don't know how many times I got to explain it.
00:21:58I don't know how many times I got to.
00:22:01Sometimes it takes a minute.
00:22:03Sometimes it takes an hour.
00:22:05Sometimes it takes more.
00:22:07But in the end, any which way you cut it,
00:22:10The System always works.
00:22:20We believe.
00:22:22Whoever wins that party tonight,
00:22:27I'm coming back to get what's mine.
00:22:33Moose making it very clear.
00:22:37He is paying attention to tonight's
00:22:39two-day world title match.

00:23:43It's going to be a great night.
00:23:45It's going to be a great night.

00:23:49It's going to be a great night.
00:23:51It's going to be a great night.
00:23:53It's going to be a great night.
00:23:55It's going to be a great night.
00:23:57It's going to be a great night.
00:23:59It's going to be a great night.
00:24:01It's going to be a great night.
00:24:03It's going to be a great night.
00:24:05It's going to be a great night.
00:24:07It's going to be a great night.
00:24:09It's going to be a great night.
00:24:11It's going to be a great night.
00:24:13It's going to be a great night.
00:24:15It's going to be a great night.
00:24:17It's going to be a great night.
00:24:19It's going to be a great night.
00:24:21It's going to be a great night.
00:24:23It's going to be a great night.
00:24:25It's going to be a great night.
00:24:27It's going to be a great night.
00:24:29It's going to be a great night.
00:24:31It's going to be a great night.
00:24:33It's going to be a great night.
00:24:35It's going to be a great night.
00:24:37It's going to be a great night.
00:24:39It's going to be a great night.
00:24:41It's going to be a great night.
00:24:43It's going to be a great night.
00:24:45It's going to be a great night.
00:24:47It's going to be a great night.
00:24:49It's going to be a great night.
00:24:51It's going to be a great night.
00:24:53It's going to be a great night.
00:24:55It's going to be a great night.
00:24:57Ah, that feeling.
00:24:59Yes.
00:25:03There were some real moments in pro wrestling.
00:25:07There are some surreal moments,
00:25:09and there were some absolute dream moments.
00:25:11A lot of people say finally became TNA world champion,
00:25:13and as much as that has been a goal and a dream of mine
00:25:15for the last year,
00:25:17more importantly it was about
00:25:19showing everyone I can still go.
00:25:21I didn't know if everything I had done had happened
00:25:23in this vacuum, in a bubble and I wanted to say I see myself as one of the
00:25:27greatest. Nick Nema's presence in TNA is something that upsets me because the
00:25:33welcome mat's been rolled out for him. You got a shiny new toy from another company.
00:25:38Nick, you're a sports entertainer. I'm a pro wrestler. My legacy not just in this
00:25:43company, this business that I've dedicated my life to, is tied to that TNA World
00:25:48Championship. I'm the longest reigning TNA World Champion of all time.
00:25:52Slammiversary, the main event, all the pressures on you, the brightest lights,
00:25:56the biggest show of the year, in front of the biggest crowd we've had over a
00:25:58decade. That was supposed to end with me holding up the TNA World Championship.
00:26:02It's to happen. It happened with Nick Nema's copying.
00:26:06What I've realized is I fit right in here at TNA. I fit right in here as the
00:26:11flag bearer. I know that I'm better than Josh Alexander because he told me so.
00:26:18A low blow lets me know he was out of options. No answer for everything that I
00:26:24had. He can't hang with me. I'm the Ironman of TNA. You're in for the
00:26:31hardest match of your life because you cannot get better. I am the f***ing
00:26:35standard. Then I'm gonna expose you for the sports entertainer you are because you are
00:26:39stuck in the ring with the best professional wrestler on earth. Josh
00:26:44Alexander made a pretty obvious point. There's a difference between a sports
00:26:49entertainer and a professional wrestler. Now, when there's someone like me that sees
00:26:53themselves as the epitome of both, I don't understand what the issue is. My
00:26:57collegiate background, my love for the business, my love for getting punched in
00:27:02the face and punching right back mixed in with wanting to put on a show and
00:27:06steal it. You think you're on the right side of this. I'm both. You're one of them
00:27:10and there's a reason the world knows my name and there's a reason I'm the world
00:27:14champion. What's your excuse?
00:27:24Ladies and gentlemen, this is your emergent main event of the evening.
00:27:33The following is a one-hour Ironman match and it is for the GNA World
00:27:41Championship. In this match, falls count via pinfall, submission, count out or
00:27:50disqualification. The competitor with the most falls before the time expires will
00:27:57be declared the GNA World Champion in the event of a...
00:28:06In the event of a tie when the time limit expires, both wrestlers will have
00:28:12to compete under sudden death rules where one fall will determine the winner.
00:28:27According to Josh Alexander himself, he has competed in five one-hour Ironman
00:28:47matches in his 19-year career. Two 60-minute matches on his resume have
00:28:54occurred in this company in the last three years. One back in 2021, he defeated TJP in a 60-minute Ironman match for the X-Division title.
00:29:04And then in this very building, he put on the match of the year in an impromptu TNA
00:29:09World title defense against Steve-O Mike Bailey in the back end of 2022 in a match that nearly went 60 minutes.
00:29:18He has a load of experience in this type of matchup.
00:29:23Josh Alexander believes the Ironman match is his match.
00:29:28There are few wrestlers on this planet with the conditioning, with the fortitude, with the intensity, with the guts, the ability.
00:29:38I could go on all night. There are few who can compete with the walking weapon when it comes to pro wrestling.
00:29:53Oh, God.
00:30:13This is just the second one-hour Ironman match in TNA's 22-year history.
00:30:19And it's just the second Ironman match in Nick Nemeth's entire career.
00:30:25The last one he competed in was a 30-minute Ironman match that was six years ago.
00:30:34There is a decided disadvantage against the champion tonight.
00:30:38And look, I get Nick Nemeth. I believe Nick Nemeth when he says he has the ability.
00:30:45He wants to prove to everyone that he can go.
00:30:48And he's always been one of the best wrestlers going at any given time for the better part of the last 10-plus years.
00:30:55It's not about that.
00:30:56But when you get into this territory, these types of matches, it takes another gear, another level.
00:31:04That's one that clearly is etched all over the resume of Josh Alexander.
00:31:09Nick Nemeth has a couple of question marks.
00:31:12Those get answered tonight.
00:31:22This is your one-hour Ironman match.
00:31:26And it is for the TNA World Championship.
00:31:30Introducing first, the challenger, from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, weighing in at 235 pounds,
00:31:38the walking weapon, Josh Alexander.
00:31:52His opponent, from Cleveland, Ohio, weighing in at 206 pounds,
00:31:57he is the reigning and defending TNA World Champion,
00:32:03the wanted man, Nick Nemeth!
00:32:08USA! USA! USA! USA!
00:32:26Right here, right now.
00:32:32It's not about companies.
00:32:34It's not about nationalities.
00:32:36It's not about resumes anymore, ladies and gentlemen.
00:32:38It's about that championship you just saw.
00:32:41The TNA World Title.
00:32:44Who can outlast who between two of the best of TNA wrestling?
00:32:49Two of the best going on the planet today.
00:32:55The first encounter between these two went to the 30-minute time limit draw
00:33:00per TV time remaining that night.
00:33:02Nick Nemeth wanted to go five more minutes.
00:33:06I believe Josh Alexander was surprised to see that Nick Nemeth
00:33:10still had gas in the tank, so to speak.
00:33:13That's what led to Alexander low-blowing Nemeth after the matchup.
00:33:18And then Alexander had the audacity to try and tell the referee,
00:33:22oh, now I'm ready for five more minutes.
00:33:26Alexander has been a very, it's no secret, very different person since Slammiversary.
00:33:31He's doing things, he's done things one way for so long.
00:33:35It's time to do things maybe a little bit differently.
00:33:38And sometimes growing pains, they can be a real, real, you know what.
00:33:43Trying to press the shoulders down there.
00:33:45Again, falls occur via pinfall, submission, disqualification or count-out.
00:33:50Standard wrestling match rules apply.
00:33:52Whomever scores the most falls within the one-hour time limit
00:33:56will be declared the TNA World Champion.
00:34:01It's often true of any given championship match,
00:34:05especially between two wrestlers of this caliber,
00:34:07but it's going to be maybe a bit of a slow build here.
00:34:10You want to save some of what you got for the end of the matchup if necessary.
00:34:20Referee, Daniel Spencer trying to separate Alexander and Nemeth
00:34:24because Nemeth is amongst the ropes.
00:34:26Down to four, Alexander finally backs off.
00:34:31Pacing is everything in this matchup.
00:34:36Not just one fall to a finish,
00:34:38it's not a sprint to the finish line in this one.
00:34:41Any which way you like it,
00:34:43it is a marathon in every sense of the word.
00:34:53Alexander there was going to try to pick the ankle between.
00:34:56Nemeth trying to go to that amateur wrestling background.
00:35:00Wrestling the shoulders down and with a kick out.
00:35:02Bringing it back all the way from Kent State.
00:35:06The Kent State Hall of Famer is Nick Nemeth.
00:35:13Now shoulders down here.
00:35:15Alexander able to escape their first encounter.
00:35:19Alexander dominated the bulk of that matchup,
00:35:22I think that's fair to say,
00:35:23but it was late down the stretch that Nick Nemeth found his wind.
00:35:27There was that question of can Nick Nemeth go into those proverbial deep waters
00:35:32into a matchup like this?
00:35:34What did you learn about Josh Alexander within that matchup?
00:35:38Again, he was in control of a bunch of...
00:35:41That's exactly where Josh Alexander lives,
00:35:43in those long, drawn out matches.
00:35:45Now to your point,
00:35:47Nick Nemeth did, I think he had a lot.
00:35:50He came alive late in the matchup,
00:35:52which is a hard thing to do even at 30 minutes.
00:35:55And I do not want to downplay that,
00:35:57but ladies and gentlemen,
00:35:59that's half the length this match is guaranteed to be.
00:36:02We know we are going 60 minutes here tonight,
00:36:05that's twice...
00:36:06Cover by Nemeth,
00:36:07cover, kick out at two.
00:36:08Twice what we saw on impact.
00:36:11That's a totally different...
00:36:13That's what I was saying,
00:36:14there's another level, another gear you have to get to
00:36:17when you start pushing 40 minutes, 45 minutes.
00:36:20Those couple of minutes are miles
00:36:22in a wrestling match like this.
00:36:24When you've pushed your muscles,
00:36:26pushed your lungs,
00:36:27the very wind inside your body
00:36:29to its absolute limits.
00:36:35Here on Nick Nemeth,
00:36:36he's got to be careful here against Alexander.
00:36:38That's the right shoulder up in time.
00:36:44Alexander gets his hand there on the bottom rope,
00:36:47trying to reassume control.
00:36:49And Tom, the thing about these matches too,
00:36:51again, not one fall to a finish.
00:36:53It's the best of however many decisions
00:36:55you can get in that hour.
00:36:57So things in normal match,
00:36:59a submission,
00:37:00you might try to last as long as you can
00:37:02to get to a rope break if you can.
00:37:04But here,
00:37:05you might want to forego that.
00:37:06You might want to get a tap out
00:37:07so you can survive longer in the match
00:37:09and hopefully make up for it later on
00:37:11and not injure a body part.
00:37:13Decisions like that,
00:37:14strategy like that,
00:37:15is totally unique to the Ironman matchup.
00:37:18You absolutely have to think about the long game.
00:37:20It's about endurance.
00:37:21And if you do find yourself a hole
00:37:23in terms of falls,
00:37:24you've really got to start to get creative.
00:37:26You've got to protect body parts at certain times.
00:37:28And you can see the clock there in the corner
00:37:30as this match is in its infancy.
00:37:38Shoulders down there
00:37:39and a kick out by Alexander.
00:37:41So far, very methodical.
00:37:43It's exactly what I came to expect from these two.
00:37:47Scientific, if you will.
00:37:52Here's Alexander
00:37:53with a little bit of the power advantage
00:37:55I would give him
00:37:56in this matchup.
00:38:02See that confidence
00:38:03on the face of Josh Alexander?
00:38:05Absolutely.
00:38:06He knew it.
00:38:07The second that this match
00:38:08got made official
00:38:09was announced.
00:38:10An Ironman match
00:38:11for 16 minutes.
00:38:12The Walking Weapon believed
00:38:14that he had this one in the bag.
00:38:15But it's another thing
00:38:16to go in there.
00:38:17An extremely heated war of words
00:38:19as you moderated last night
00:38:20the final face-off
00:38:21before a merger
00:38:22is Nemethan and Alexander.
00:38:23This is as personal
00:38:25as anything we have seen.
00:38:27Look, if there's one thing
00:38:29I took away
00:38:31from that face-off
00:38:32between these two
00:38:33last night on TNA Impact
00:38:35being right there
00:38:36and feeling the energy
00:38:37just radiating from them.
00:38:39Look, you may not like
00:38:40some of the things
00:38:41Josh Alexander has done
00:38:42or said in the last couple of weeks
00:38:44but you can't take away
00:38:45from either one of these guys
00:38:47the passion they have
00:38:49to be TNA World Champion
00:38:51to be that flag-bearer
00:38:53look out
00:38:54for this company
00:38:55willing to do what it takes.
00:38:57Small joint manipulation
00:38:59there by Josh Alexander
00:39:01snapping the fingers.
00:39:03An injury potentially
00:39:04this early on in the match-up
00:39:05can be devastating.
00:39:07I keep an eye on that
00:39:08but Josh Alexander
00:39:09is targeting the left shoulder
00:39:11and we've talked about it plenty
00:39:12in the lead-up to Slammiversary.
00:39:14Sneak attack by Frankie Kazarian
00:39:16on Nick Nemeth
00:39:17led to Nemeth sustaining
00:39:18a torn labrum
00:39:20in his left shoulder.
00:39:21He did not get surgery
00:39:22doesn't often require surgery
00:39:24but cover there
00:39:25going for a fall
00:39:26and a kick-out.
00:39:27That is something
00:39:28that Nemeth is
00:39:29working through
00:39:30so to speak.
00:39:32It happens so often
00:39:33in pro wrestling
00:39:34you have those
00:39:36minor injuries
00:39:37things that you don't want
00:39:38to keep you from
00:39:39your obligations
00:39:40from your work
00:39:41from providing for your family
00:39:42so you do work through them
00:39:43as if it's
00:39:44if it's necessary
00:39:45you do what you gotta do
00:39:46and that's what
00:39:47Nick Nemeth is doing
00:39:48but
00:39:49how much is that
00:39:50going to come into play
00:39:51we know the intelligence
00:39:52the in-ring intelligence
00:39:53of Josh Alexander
00:39:55you know
00:39:56he will exploit that.
00:40:05Alexander controlling
00:40:06the head
00:40:07the neck
00:40:08Nick Nemeth here
00:40:10as they start to get
00:40:11moving here
00:40:12watch Nemeth
00:40:13by the left shoulder
00:40:14there
00:40:15you can see
00:40:16how that
00:40:17damage
00:40:18to the left shoulder
00:40:19that lingering
00:40:20injury
00:40:21that we talked about
00:40:22pre-slammiversary
00:40:23it's evident
00:40:24there with Nemeth
00:40:29Don't think I need
00:40:30to say
00:40:31Nick Nemeth
00:40:32likes to finish
00:40:33his matches
00:40:34with the danger zone
00:40:35he leaps up
00:40:36uses his arms
00:40:37there
00:40:38he falls back
00:40:39on his own
00:40:40body parts
00:40:41there
00:40:42part of that
00:40:43to imply that
00:40:44impact
00:40:45you take a lot
00:40:46of that away
00:40:47when you destroy
00:40:48the arm of
00:40:49Nick Nemeth
00:40:53official in position
00:40:54there
00:40:55keeping an eye
00:40:56on Nick Nemeth
00:40:57and his shoulders
00:40:58no falls yet
00:40:59have been scored
00:41:00in this one hour
00:41:01Ironman match
00:41:02for the TNA
00:41:03World Championship
00:41:11so beautiful
00:41:12athleticism
00:41:13oh drop kick
00:41:14right to the face
00:41:15Alexander went
00:41:16to the ankle lock
00:41:17ankle lock
00:41:18on Nemeth
00:41:19and Nemeth gets
00:41:20to the bottom rope
00:41:21that will break up
00:41:22the submission
00:41:23by the count of 5
00:41:24you saw
00:41:25the tenacity
00:41:26the quickness
00:41:27the urgency
00:41:28Nemeth had
00:41:29to get to the rope
00:41:30normally
00:41:31again in a regular match
00:41:32you would try
00:41:33to see
00:41:34Nick Nemeth
00:41:35maybe got that
00:41:36one out
00:41:37try to counter
00:41:38but no second thought
00:41:39got right to the rope
00:41:40short time
00:41:41how much damage
00:41:42was done
00:41:56back to square one
00:41:57grappling
00:41:58center of the ring
00:42:08down goes
00:42:10Alexander
00:42:11think about that
00:42:12cover here
00:42:13doesn't have the
00:42:14shoulders completely
00:42:15down
00:42:16Alexander
00:42:17numerous times
00:42:18has taken
00:42:19he's been the
00:42:20aggressor
00:42:21he's been
00:42:22the one
00:42:23taking
00:42:24Nick Nemeth
00:42:25off his feet
00:42:26bringing him
00:42:27back down
00:42:28to the mat
00:42:29controlling
00:42:30a lot of
00:42:31the early
00:42:32goings
00:42:33to this matchup
00:42:34Nemeth
00:42:35has his
00:42:36shoulders down
00:42:37gotta be careful
00:42:40I believe
00:42:41in Nick Nemeth
00:42:44looking down
00:42:45Nemeth
00:42:46is Alexander
00:42:47all tied up
00:42:48goes Alexander
00:42:49has that
00:42:50twice surgically
00:42:51repaired neck
00:42:53Alexander though
00:42:54managed to
00:42:55separate the legs
00:42:56and break free
00:42:57of that
00:42:58head scissor
00:42:59and right back
00:43:00to the headlock
00:43:02it's almost
00:43:03surgical
00:43:04from Josh
00:43:05Alexander
00:43:10and look at
00:43:11tearing
00:43:12and there you go
00:43:13but look
00:43:14shoulders down
00:43:15counter there
00:43:16from Nemeth
00:43:17there at the
00:43:18head of Josh
00:43:19Alexander
00:43:20to get a quick
00:43:21cover back
00:43:22to their feet
00:43:23here
00:43:24the ground
00:43:25game of Josh
00:43:26Alexander
00:43:27has been
00:43:28absolutely
00:43:29spectacular
00:43:30at this point
00:43:31in the matchup
00:43:32he understands
00:43:33the time
00:43:34that these two
00:43:35still have to go
00:43:36trying to wear
00:43:37on Nemeth
00:43:38as much as he can
00:43:39going after
00:43:40the left leg
00:43:41going after
00:43:42the left ankle
00:43:43one more time
00:43:44went for the ankle
00:43:45wait wait wait
00:43:46saw how Nemeth
00:43:47evaded it
00:43:48Nemeth
00:43:49scored a pinfall
00:43:50the winner of
00:43:51the first ball
00:43:52Nick Nemeth
00:43:53he leads
00:43:54one to zero
00:43:55Nick Nemeth
00:43:56is taking the lead
00:43:59and Tom
00:44:00look at Nemeth
00:44:01bouncing around
00:44:02we saw
00:44:03after the leap frog
00:44:04he grabbed
00:44:05that ankle
00:44:06that was in the
00:44:07ankle lock
00:44:08with Josh
00:44:09Alexander
00:44:10you and I
00:44:11have known
00:44:12Nick Nemeth
00:44:13for a long time
00:44:14as you can see
00:44:15over ten minutes
00:44:16have gone by
00:44:17so far
00:44:18this one hour
00:44:19Ironman matchup
00:44:20perhaps
00:44:21Nick Nemeth
00:44:22pulled a fast one
00:44:23there on
00:44:24Josh
00:44:25Alexander
00:44:26let it
00:44:27where it's due
00:44:28it was effective
00:44:29first ball
00:44:30goes
00:44:31to Nick
00:44:32Nemeth
00:44:33but now
00:44:34now you've got
00:44:35the little bit
00:44:36of the issue
00:44:37Josh
00:44:38Alexander's face
00:44:39has completely
00:44:40changed
00:44:41he went from
00:44:42dare I say
00:44:43having fun
00:44:44controlling
00:44:45and toying
00:44:46with Nick
00:44:47Nemeth
00:44:48the ground game
00:44:49that we talked
00:44:50about
00:44:51now this is
00:44:52about punishment
00:44:53and I think
00:44:54especially
00:44:55the fashion
00:44:56in which
00:44:57that first
00:44:58ball
00:44:59happened
00:45:00Josh
00:45:01Alexander
00:45:02whatever you
00:45:03feel about him
00:45:04right now
00:45:05is the title
00:45:06if you want
00:45:07to put me
00:45:08in the right
00:45:09hold
00:45:10and submit me
00:45:11I'll take it
00:45:12that's the kind
00:45:13of wrestler
00:45:14he is
00:45:15I think
00:45:16he takes
00:45:17exception
00:45:18to being
00:45:19hoodwinked
00:45:20like that
00:45:21by Nick
00:45:22Nemeth
00:45:23oh Alexander
00:45:24out of the corner
00:45:25oh the back
00:45:26breaker
00:45:27cover
00:45:28trying to
00:45:29even this up
00:45:30oh what a
00:45:31kick out
00:45:32by Nemeth
00:45:33that was
00:45:34that was
00:45:35the best of
00:45:36Nick
00:45:37Nemeth
00:45:38busted
00:45:39open by
00:45:40shots
00:45:41from Josh
00:45:42Alexander
00:45:43I understand
00:45:44that Josh
00:45:45Alexander's
00:45:46ticked off
00:45:47after that
00:45:48fall
00:45:49that Nemeth
00:45:50was able to
00:45:51score
00:45:52but you
00:45:53can't allow
00:45:54something that
00:45:55early
00:45:56a fall
00:45:57that early
00:45:58in an
00:45:59Ironman
00:46:00matchup
00:46:01like this
00:46:02to completely
00:46:03derail
00:46:04Alexander
00:46:05has had
00:46:06a history
00:46:07of letting
00:46:08his emotions
00:46:09rule the
00:46:10day
00:46:11from time
00:46:12to time
00:46:13but he
00:46:14knows what's
00:46:15at stake
00:46:16here
00:46:17he knows
00:46:18the sandbox
00:46:19for playing
00:46:20in here
00:46:21in this
00:46:22Ironman
00:46:23match
00:46:24and so
00:46:25he has
00:46:26found that
00:46:27composure
00:46:28once again
00:46:29another
00:46:30back
00:46:31breaker
00:46:32by Alexander
00:46:33that's the
00:46:34right shoulder
00:46:35up
00:46:36talked about
00:46:37the damage
00:46:38done to the
00:46:39shoulder
00:46:40earlier on
00:46:41in the match
00:46:42up
00:46:43damage to
00:46:44the back
00:46:45too
00:46:46that'll
00:46:47take away
00:46:48the danger
00:46:49zone
00:46:50just as
00:46:51much
00:46:52you
00:46:53moderated
00:46:54the final

00:51:23Mammoth here is already on the back foot in a way that he does not want to be
00:51:31this early into the matchup
00:51:36look at Nick Mammoth battle back forearms shivers right to the side of the head of Josh
00:51:41Alexander trying to quicken the pace knee right to the midsection of Mammoth
00:51:49that shuts down that flurry from the two-time world champion
00:52:09crowd here Louisville Kentucky trying to make this about something it's not
00:52:16a kick out Alexander got cocky there it nearly cost him now into the cover oh
00:52:22and a kick out by Mammoth I almost thought Mammoth was going to pull
00:52:28another fast one on Josh Alexander the walking weapon quickly shut things down
00:52:46now Alexander once again back it was very deliberate attack here on Nick
00:53:03Mammoth choosing his moments choosing his tactics look out Alexander through
00:53:10the ropes momentum the walking weapon against and Nick Mammoth now he has an
00:53:21opening
00:53:28remember standard natural supply falls can occur be a pinfall submission count
00:53:33out for disqualification there is no safe haven
00:53:38you see we are just north 20 minutes into this matchup one-third done that
00:53:47fatigue clearly setting in for Nick Mammoth I hate to point out the obvious
00:53:52Josh Alexander though looking pretty fresh looking pretty confident still
00:53:58Alexander rolls back inside to reset the ten count per the officials orders and
00:54:02now Mammoth with a straight headbutt to the challenger look out Alexander
00:54:11shoulder first into the stale steps and that's redirecting the momentum of Josh
00:54:18Alexander once again and now it's Josh Alexander who might have to be a little
00:54:26bit more concerned about injury less than halfway through this matchup and
00:54:35Alexander's hurting after that one said to the stale stairs and now Nick Mammoth
00:54:41has an opening here already a one-nothing advantage in this Ironman
00:54:44match starting to come alive here
00:54:52Lentless is Nick Mammoth oh backbreaker delivered by the wanted man
00:55:07here we go through those ripped lentless elbows a lot of punishment it takes a
00:55:13lot of energy to inflict this all to
00:55:27I'll wait for the 10th shot to the heart there and Alexander was able to evade
00:55:32Alexander trying to get out of the ring and away from Mammoth space from the TNA
00:55:39world champion plants Josh Alexander now Mammoth what's he got in his mind
00:55:45going up to the top for hope here Mammoth go to the top turnbuckle a
00:55:49rarity from Nick Mammoth as we've seen here in TNA
00:56:002.99 but look out for the hookup for the c4 spike
00:56:06Mammoth felt it coming shot right to the knee Mammoth off of the ropes one of the famous sir
00:56:13all down the back shoulders down oh Mammoth Mammoth now Alexander's shoulders are down
00:56:20and a kick out back and forth oh and a kick out at two
00:56:25oh center of the ring is it enough to score a second fall oh and a kick out by Alexander
00:56:39you can see the pace starting to pick up a little bit here
00:56:44at certain moments trying to take advantage of these bursts
00:56:50but either way it remains at one fall for Nemeth
00:56:55none for the walking weapon so far
00:57:00and now Nemeth is going for danger zone Alexander held onto the top rope to prevent
00:57:05it in a big right hand Nemeth goes down to his knees good night
00:57:13Alexander was trying to set up but he's caught the danger zone
00:57:18up to the inside leg it's two nothing Nemeth
00:57:24the winner of the second fall Nick Nemeth he leads two to zero
00:57:31just like that the TNA world champion is up two to nothing
00:57:39USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA
00:57:46well over 20 minutes of a lapse here in this one hour iron man match for the TNA world
00:57:52championship we are sold out tonight in Louisville Kentucky at emergence what a way to cap things off
00:58:00and Alexander is getting rocked right now
00:58:03You can see the headgear starting to come a little loose the barrage of Nevin and especially able to finally look out cover
00:58:12Going for a third fall and a kick out. That would mean a commanding lead for Nemeth
00:58:17Emmett
00:58:19Finally being able to hit that danger zone has opened up a huge window
00:58:24Neck breaker look to the inside leg. Does he have a belt?
00:58:29Alexander is now having to take down deep
00:58:31Every single time he gets covered here
00:58:39And now it is Nick Nemeth in control trying to bend Josh Alexander in half
00:59:02Once again
00:59:04Walking up and going to that small joint
00:59:06Manipulation a little bit wherever he can the wrist a couple of the fingers there and Emmett to break that hold of a modified attempt
00:59:11at the bow and arrow there
00:59:13and down goes Alexander and a heap in the corner
00:59:18Nemeth grabbing at his wrist there even the small things like that were effective Josh Alexander
00:59:24Oh
00:59:29Josh Alexander two falls to nothing for Nemeth against Alexander in this TNA world title match
00:59:42Shot for the heart, can he score a third ball a kick out by Alexander?
00:59:47I
00:59:49Quite frankly if you're Nick Nemeth, you're up two to nothing. You can contemplate defense if you wanted to
00:59:55But Nick Nemeth trying to just can grow that lead. He's trying to continually cover Josh Alexander dish out that punishment
01:00:03Oh
01:00:11You're gonna bend the walking weapon trying to bend him like a pretzel here
01:00:17Oh
01:00:27As we close in on the 30-minute mark almost halfway through a nasty ankle lock
01:00:33But what a kick could have broken the nose there a Josh Alexander
01:00:38Nemeth
01:00:40By the TNA world champion
01:00:42He was grabbing at his left ankle after that ankle lock hook to the inside leg to score a third ball
01:00:48And that will not happen just yet, but I don't believe
01:00:52Nemeth is fainting this time. It feels like some damage was done. I
01:00:58Think we're at the point in the matchup where yet those kind of games are out the window
01:01:03We're nearly to the halfway point here
01:01:06Heading into that deep water as you like to call it
01:01:10The irony is that this is around the point
01:01:14The first encounter between these two were Nemeth started to find his groove all in a very similar
01:01:21Circumstance here tonight at emergence
01:01:26Hanging them up on the top rope there
01:01:29Alexander rolls back inside the ring. Remember falls a curvy a pinfall or submission
01:01:36Disqualification
01:01:40Now these two slugging it out here
01:01:4530 minutes deep into this Ironman matchup
01:01:52Shot to the left me by Alexander and that bought him some time
01:01:57Alexander again, Alexander again goes after the left ankle and twisting at the knee as well
01:02:07Can you take that face away from Nick Nemeth you take away almost everything from the man
01:02:13You can see in the TNA world champion in your mind should Josh Alexander begin to be stressing about time remaining
01:02:25To
01:02:32Exhaustive
01:02:34The alligator
01:02:36World Champion. In your mind, should Josh Alexander begin to be stressing about the time remaining?
01:02:42Well, Josh Alexander, if you can control, look out!
01:02:47Nemeth going into Josh Alexander's book there, snapping the fingers.
01:02:59And Alexander, a German suplex as we have reached the halfway point in this one hour Iron Man match.
01:03:06For the TNA World Championship, more German suplexes by The Walking Weapon.
01:03:12To your point, Tom, maybe something like this is more akin to that strategy you're talking about,
01:03:18going a little bit heavier, dropping the bigger bombs at this point in the match-up to try to
01:03:22catch up to Nick Nemeth. That being said though, if I know The Walking Weapon like I think I do,
01:03:30again, he knows how long this is still going. We're only halfway. This is the point in the
01:03:35match-up where five minutes don't feel like five minutes. Five minutes feel like an hour unto
01:03:41themselves. So pick and choose your moments. You've still got to pick and choose your strategy.
01:03:48Reminiscent of the great TNA Hall of Famer Kurt Angle himself, a series of German suplexes and
01:03:55everything Nemeth is trying to do to break the grip of Alexander, it's not doing the trick right
01:04:00now. More damage to that left shoulder, to the back of the head, the back of the neck, the spine.
01:04:07Just brutalizing, knocking the wind out of you at every suplex. Got a smile on the face of Josh
01:04:13Alexander. This is what he needed to get back into this, so to speak. Another German. This is
01:04:19where Josh Alexander lives.
01:04:33The gen is set for a ride and finally Alexander relinquishes, if only to mock Nemeth.
01:04:43Made it to the double digit mark there.
01:04:46Dropping Nemeth over and over again.
01:05:01You heard Alexander trying to tell the crowd here, you want 10 more? He's ready to go. He's
01:05:05ready to give it. I ask the question if Josh Alexander should be stressing about the time
01:05:11remaining. He does not appear to be. He feels like he's in control but not for long. Nemeth
01:05:17has turned it around and now Nemeth with German suplexes to Alexander. Yeah, look, I get the
01:05:25thought process. I don't know how wise this is though for Nemeth considering the damage
01:05:30just done to him. You talk about playing a little bit of defense and Nemeth is going on offense
01:05:35right now.
01:05:40Nemeth at five here. We saw Alexander land 10 of these moments ago.
01:05:50Alexander trying to reach out for the top rope but he couldn't save himself.
01:05:54Still in the clutches of the TNA world champion.
01:05:57With the walking weapon who's getting worn down bit by bit suplex by suplex.
01:06:16And another German suplex delivered. What a sequence.
01:06:2120 German suplexes over the last several minutes.
01:06:29And up to this point that has got to be the most physically exhausting
01:06:33portion for both these guys. Look, look, look at how now Alexander with authority
01:06:41fires off a single German suplex to reassume control. At least attempts to and now Nemeth
01:06:47retorts. Nemeth though not able to take, whoa, I was going to say both guys got to their feet
01:06:55but immediately back down to the mat.
01:06:58The amount of energy exerted by both these men for the TNA world championship has been incredible.
01:07:22Nemeth is stirring here now. Alexander starting to make his way up too.
01:07:38Count of nine and both men back up to their feet. This one hour Ironman match rolls on.
01:07:45Now we're here into a slugfest. You see the fists of Nick Nemeth up
01:07:53ready to box it out with the walking weapon now.
01:08:03Oh and a headbutt by Nemeth knocking the headgear clean off.
01:08:07Now wait a minute, go for the ankle lock. Alexander picked the ankle. Here we go again.
01:08:20Center of the ring. He's waiting for the right moments
01:08:25for these ankle locks. Center of the ring, dead center. And Nemeth has got to think about all
01:08:32the time remaining in this Ironman matchup. Well over 20 minutes remaining. That's right.
01:08:38Can he live to fight another fall? He's two ahead, he can afford it.
01:08:43Damage has been done to the ankle prior to this. Up two falls to nothing. Is it self-perseverance
01:08:50or did he get to the bottom rope and keep on fighting?
01:08:56Obviously Nemeth trying to dig down deep, trying to get to the rope.
01:09:00Whether it's a point of pride or not, I don't know.
01:09:06Alexander just leaning on Nick Nemeth right now.
01:09:09Putting his boot right on the back of the head of Nick Nemeth.
01:09:12Nick Nemeth in a horrible situation right now.
01:09:15Running into the bottom rope and Alexander great finds the leg.
01:09:20And now dragging his prey back into that proverbial deep water. Center of the ring.
01:09:29What's Nick Nemeth gonna do? Nowhere to go. There's nowhere to go, Tom.
01:09:41Big Nick, there you come on. Scratching and clawing trying to find his way to the bottom
01:09:47rope. He refuses to submit to Alexander. Gets to the bottom rope.
01:09:53Alexander using every bit of that five count.
01:10:14Nick Nemeth showing a lot of fortitude. No doubt about it. Hats off to him. A lot of
01:10:20a lot of respect. But you have to wonder just how much that was taken. It's the classic question,
01:10:27right? How much was taken out of Nick Nemeth in holding on that long?
01:10:31In getting to crawling to the bottom rope?
01:10:37Again, you understand self-preservation by Nick Nemeth. If he had tapped out there, yes,
01:10:44it would have been two to one. But still think about the damage that is done now to the left
01:10:48ankle. Exactly. Look at Josh Alexander looking like he could go all night. He's just getting
01:10:58started here. And again, Alexander is grabbing for the left ankle of Nick Nemeth. At the end
01:11:08of this thing, he might snap the leg of Nick Nemeth completely off the bone here.
01:11:14Alexander using the bottom rope there. Smashing the left ankle into the canvas.
01:11:30I mean, Nemeth has been, he made it to the rope, but he's been on the ground
01:11:34grabbing at his ankle, grabbing at his lower leg ever since.
01:11:37Remember, this is still a two nothing lead for Nick Nemeth in this one hour Ironman match.
01:11:51Nemeth, the way he's turning to face Josh Alexander here, keep his ankle away,
01:11:56just trying to play a little bit of D. It's a little over 20 minutes remaining here,
01:12:00and this has got to be the point at which Josh Alexander has got to put his foot on the gas.
01:12:05You can see him stepping up the intensity here, continuing to assault the ankle. Well,
01:12:10despite that ankle lock not going the way he wanted it to, getting him his first decision,
01:12:16getting him his first fall, I think Josh Alexander is very much smelling blood in the water here
01:12:22with Nemeth. Alexander adding insult to injury there.
01:12:35I talked about the emotion of this earlier on in the matchup,
01:12:37when Nick Nemeth was able to surprise Alexander and score that first fall.
01:12:42It really got to the head of Alexander. Now, is it the frustration that's wearing
01:12:46on the walking weapon? Nemeth, Nemeth, whoa, one of the DDT nearly sent into the official,
01:12:53down goes our referee. Wrong place, wrong time.
01:12:59Oh, the referee is down as Alexander launches Nemeth clean across the ring.
01:13:12Look, Nemeth is out, Nemeth laid out there by Josh Alexander. Referee down, no decision.
01:13:20No, what is on the mind or the walking weapon here?
01:13:26And again, the referee is down. And the ref's eyes are turned away.
01:13:33Josh Alexander clearly going to play here tonight. As we said from the outset, standard match rules
01:13:41apply. Falls occur via pinfall, submission, count out, or disqualification.
01:13:50Well, there's two thoughts at play here, Tom. One,
01:13:53while the referee is still recovering to do some damage out here, or two, even if we get him back,
01:13:59Tom, if he does enough damage here, he can pin Nick Nemeth six times potentially,
01:14:06depending on what happens with this table here at ringside.
01:14:10What is in the mind? Oh, you see it, I see it.
01:14:25God, not this. Trying to hook Nemeth for the C4 spike from the apron.
01:14:32And Nemeth, Nemeth holding on. Oh, wait a minute. Alexander goes down,
01:14:39spine first on the apron. And Nemeth needed that, Tom.
01:14:45That was going to be a nasty way for this match to go. As you look here, watch,
01:14:49Nemeth able to get that backdrop hard onto the spine of Josh Alexander.
01:14:57Oh, and a straight headbutt by Nemeth. The referee is still down inside the ring as these two battle
01:15:04on the outside. Alexander returning the favor, spine first into the apron there.
01:15:18As this one spills back into the ring.
01:15:23Oh, now Nemeth, Nemeth trying to hit the DDT. Hold on, hold on, Alexander. Oh, hits the tombstone,
01:15:30spinning into the tombstone. Referee's back. Can Alexander score his first fall? No!
01:15:40And now, now you see the frustration starting to build for Josh Alexander.
01:15:46Understandably so. We've wrestled for over 40 minutes and Alexander still can't score a fall
01:15:54against Nemeth. Now Alexander grabbing the chair at ringside here.
01:16:11And Alexander's climbing into the ring with a chair. The referee has come too. Remember,
01:16:16a fall can occur via disqualification. But again, I have to imagine Alexander potentially thinking
01:16:24if I can do enough damage, but the better part of Valorant. Oh my god,
01:16:31Alexander just pulled something out of his knee brace. It just hit the evidence. What the hell
01:16:36was that? It was a part of the brace itself. The official never saw it. Alexander got rid
01:16:45of the evidence. Save for Spike. Good god, that's gotta be.
01:16:53Alexander scores a fall. The winner of the third fall, Josh Alexander. Nick still leads two to one.
01:17:04Now that's one, one step closer.
01:17:07Alexander still has plenty of work to do, but now he's got, he's got Nemeth on the back foot
01:17:14of all back foots. Look at this, going for number two here, Tom. Less than 20 minutes remaining
01:17:19in this one-hour Ironman match for the TNA world title. Another C4 Spike.
01:17:28The winner of the fourth fall, Josh Alexander. They are tied two to two.
01:17:47Well, Tom, it may have taken longer than he liked, but in a matter of about 60 seconds,
01:17:53Josh Alexander has evened this match up. Just about 15 minutes left in this Ironman match.
01:18:02Two-two between Nemeth and Alexander. That's the thing, at this point, what's left? He's
01:18:09gonna score a third fall here. Oh, and Nemeth got the left shoulder up in time. Alexander
01:18:15going for another cover. Another cover and a kick out by Nemeth.
01:18:22Somehow, so I don't know if it's instinct. I don't know if it's just a tremor
01:18:29going through his body, but Nick Nemeth is defying all odds here.
01:18:34Oh, now Nemeth going for a sleeper. Trying to surprise Alexander.
01:18:49Doing whatever he can to wear out Alexander.
01:18:55Relentless here, though, as Nemeth tried to hold on.
01:19:04Oh, and now down goes Nemeth. Oh, and now Nemeth with another sleeper.
01:19:14Another sleeper by Nick Nemeth, center of the ring. Alexander, is he gonna go out? Is Nemeth
01:19:20gonna score a submission and make this three-two? What a way to counter this unbelievable momentum
01:19:27that Josh Alexander just built up here.
01:19:38Oh, up onto the shoulders now. Nick Nemeth refuses to let go of this sleeper hold.
01:19:45Alexander, though, tenacious to the end. Oh, face first into the top turnbuckle. Now,
01:19:52back into the sleeper hold.
01:19:58Nemeth refusing to quit. There is no, I think there's no quit,
01:20:02neither one of these guys, quite frankly. Alexander. Oh, dear God. What is?
01:20:10Alexander. Oh, my God. Alexander and Nemeth fell clean out of the ring.
01:20:16Oh,
01:20:20exhaustion taking over here deep into the matchup.
01:20:25Just both guys tumbling to the apron in the floor below.
01:20:33A horrific fall for champion and challenger.
01:20:37And a count of three here from the official. Both men enter the count of ten to get back inside the
01:20:43ring. If it's a double count out, it's a fall apiece. Alexander climbs back in. Count of seven,
01:20:53Nemeth's got to get back inside the ring. Alexander rolled outside, resetting the ten count,
01:20:59but Nemeth saved himself as well. And saved the match,
01:21:03saved both these guys a fall. We remain at two to two. Just a little over ten minutes left now
01:21:12in this Ironman match for the TNA World Championship. Desperation time for both men.
01:21:19A little over eleven minutes left, which means we've gone nearly 49 minutes here, Tom.
01:21:26It's been a hell of a battle. And now look at Alexander's got a hold of Nemeth and dumps him on the floor.
01:21:31It's a nasty way.
01:21:44And Alexander rolls back inside the ring, happy to take a count out to score a fall.
01:21:49At this point in the matchup, you take what you can get.
01:22:05Count of seven, Nemeth's got to get back inside the ring. Count of eight. Can he do it? Can he
01:22:11pull himself back together? Count of nine. Count of nine, Nemeth just barely beaten the count.
01:22:18Where is Nick Nemeth finding this?
01:22:23The score is still two-two between Nemeth and Alexander.
01:22:27But the walking weapon wanted another C4 spike. He's close to getting it. Nemeth fighting.
01:22:33Oh, wait a minute. Alexander threw the table.
01:22:45The standard has been broken.
01:22:55And I was curious to see how the official was going to rule this. Would he call this a
01:22:59disqualification? The official was down when Alexander was setting up the table. The referee
01:23:05never saw which member of the match put the table into play. So he can't disqualify either member
01:23:13technically. Lord knows Nick Nemeth, he probably didn't even know which direction he was in
01:23:21when he was hooked up for that C4 spike. Just tried to heave Josh Alexander off of him.
01:23:26Count of eight. Is Nemeth going to get a count out full here against Alexander?
01:23:31Count of nine. Count of nine. Alexander beat the count.
01:23:37The fortitude from both these guys is absolutely commendable here.
01:23:43Oh, wait for the super kick. Smash the right ankle. Alexander, C4 spike for a third time.
01:23:51Oh, and Nemeth got his foot on the bottom rope. Alexander cannot score a third ball.
01:24:07After the third C4 spike in this matchup, the six operating neurons left in Nick Nemeth after that
01:24:17somehow told his body to move his foot just in the nick of time.
01:24:37At this point in the matchup, you can take nothing away from either guy here, but
01:24:42what is it going to take to strike the finishing blow?
01:24:56Count of three from the official.
01:25:13Count of seven. Nemeth toss back inside the ring. Alexander in pursuit. Nemeth launches himself.
01:25:28Nemeth had been looking for that for a long time in this matchup. Finally able to get it
01:25:33not enough to put the walking weapon away. And look at Nick Nemeth
01:25:38retying his shoes to smash to the right ankle by Josh. Alexander perhaps did the damage.
01:25:46It's not just even trying to keep devices tight so you don't slip on it. I mean, it's,
01:25:51it's increasing that stability within the boot. That's a huge key of any wrestlers arsenal,
01:25:58especially if you've had any injury to your ankle, which Nick Nemeth has had in this matchup.
01:26:02Look at Alexander. Looked like he was crumpling there for a moment, trying to keep Nemeth at bay
01:26:08and does. Alexander going up to the second rope here. What's in the mind of the walking weapon?
01:26:18Shot to the head there by Nemeth.
01:26:27Nemeth looks like he's climbing. He's going to try to meet
01:26:30Josh Alexander here up on the top rope.
01:26:39And it's deep into the matchup. These guys still going
01:26:43to the high rent district. Alexander desperately fighting off Nick Nemeth here.
01:26:49Down goes Nemeth and Alexander's got an opportunity, but he's got to act quickly.
01:26:56Wants to walk out with the TNA world championship.
01:27:01This deep into such a match. It's hard to do anything quickly, Tom. That that's the hard
01:27:07part about it as Nemeth though, digging down deep to rain down this offense on Josh Alexander.
01:27:17And now Nemeth is going up to the top turnbuckle to meet Josh Alexander.
01:27:26Look out below.
01:27:30On a superplex by Nemeth.
01:27:38Alexander's in a heap. Nemeth falls into a cover. Alexander kicks out.
01:27:49A little over five minutes left now in this one hour Ironman match.
01:27:56Remember, if time expires and we have a tie, we will go to an untimed
01:28:07sudden death period where the first ball determines the winner.
01:28:13I mean, if nothing else, this does go to show you just how evenly matched
01:28:17these guys are. Two of the best going today, proving it right here in the middle of a TNA ring.
01:28:26That's right.
01:28:38Nemeth proving what he's made of. Oh, Alexander kicks out the ankle.
01:28:44Superkick! Superkick! Did Nemeth get him? Oh, and a kick out by Alexander.
01:29:01Four minutes remaining.
01:29:05Absolutely out of nowhere superkick.
01:29:10A hit and strike, but still not enough to put Josh Alexander down. We remain tied here in the
01:29:17closing minutes of this Ironman matchup. A sense of urgency for both men. We're tied in two balls
01:29:25We're tied in two balls apiece.
01:29:34Here we are with Nick Nemeth.
01:29:38Just trying to control Josh Alexander much like how this match started.
01:29:48And Alexander goes back to the German suplex.
01:29:56And now three minutes remain in our main event tonight at Emergence.
01:30:05Somebody needs to reach into the back pocket, reach into the playbook, go maybe somewhere
01:30:12they did not intend to go here tonight to get this one done before time expires, Tom.
01:30:19And now Nemeth. Nemeth, look at this burst from the wanted man.
01:30:26Oh, now Alexander. Oh, and look out, look out. Oh, my God, going for the
01:30:30leg, going into the exposed turnbuckle from earlier on in the match.
01:30:36Oh, and Alexander, it's dangerous. Cover! Oh, and a kick out by Nemeth.
01:30:44And Alexander. Alexander is irate. He is incensed.
01:31:01Two minutes remain.
01:31:05Who will emerge as the TNA world champion?
01:31:14The frustration is very real for Josh Alexander.
01:31:19Frustration, the anger. Alexander is intent on putting this away. He's got to do it.
01:31:26He's got to do it now.
01:31:32And now Nemeth caught up. Go for another C4 spike is Josh Alexander.
01:31:38How is Nemeth continuing to fight this?
01:31:43Oh, Alexander trying to get him up. Nemeth resists. Shoulders down, shoulders down.
01:31:55Oh, a kick out. Look at this though. Alexander holds on.
01:31:59Going for another C4 spike. One minute remaining. Headbutt.
01:32:04Look out now, Nemeth. Nemeth's got him lined up here. Danger zone.
01:32:10Danger zone. Alexander though is on his knees.
01:32:14He's not down yet though, Tom. Can he get the third ball on the danger zone?
01:32:23All right, Nemeth has something else in mind. Oh, you're wading away.
01:32:27Nemeth with the C4 spike. Nemeth takes the lead.
01:32:43The winner of this round, Nick Nemeth. He leads three to two.
01:32:48With seconds remaining, Tom. Seconds remaining.
01:32:52Nemeth wants to fight though. Continue.
01:32:58Alexander couldn't continue. Nick Nemeth is champion. Nick Nemeth is the Iron Man.
01:33:07Here is your winner and still GMA World Champion, Nick Nemeth.
01:33:17What fortitude, what will and tenacity from two of the finest professional wrestlers on the face
01:33:27of the planet today showing you why they are the best of the very best and Nick Nemeth showing
01:33:35absolutely everyone that he can be everything he says he is and more.
01:33:48When Nick Nemeth stepped foot in this company, he said this was a new chapter in his career
01:33:54and he was prepared to fight every step of the way.
01:34:00Since Slammiversary is clean, he will be a fighting champion.
01:34:12What the hell is going on? John Layfield is in TNA.
01:34:24Earlier tonight, I asked what timeline we're in, Tom. I've lost track of everything at this point.
01:34:54Oh
01:35:02So
01:35:19Post a moment in Mexico between these two.
01:35:23Some words were spoken tonight that only Nick Nemeth and John Layfield will truly understand.
01:35:32What is unraveling in front of our eyes?
01:35:39Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for joining us tonight
01:35:43from a sold-out Louisville, Kentucky. This has been Emergence.
