Channing Tatum has commented on the chances of his Gambit movie getting revived by Marvel Studios. Tatum was announced as the lead of a Gambit solo movie by Fox back in 2014. Sadly, the project would never get made, spending several years in development hell. After a decade, Tatum finally got his chance to play Gambit thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the hero being one of the shocking surprises of Deadpool & Wolverine's star-studded cast.

Talking to Variety, Channing Tatum revealed he has told Marvel he still wants to do his solo Gambit movie. Tatum wants to keep the momentum of his Deadpool & Wolverine appearance going, with the actor not letting go of his desire to lead a Gambit movie, which he has "been saying I want it for the last 10 years." Ultimately, after Deadpool & Wolverine's ending left Tatum's Gambit alive, the actor says a solo film is now "in Bob Iger (Disney's CEO) and Kevin Feige’s hands."
