00:00see what does happen in this second 45. Chris Sutton, Neil McCann are alongside Ian Crocker.
00:05Dyson Mida got things going. Keogh thought he had but his effort was ruled out. However,
00:12he did go on and score eventually. Of course he did. Keogh has only scored four goals from
00:19outside the box in the Scottish Premiership and three of them have been against Rangers.
00:2622 of Celtic's last 28 Premiership goals against Rangers have come in the first half. That's when
00:33they get the job done for the most part on derby day and yet again they have a firm grip on this
00:44derby. Stirling quickly onto that though. Desses it bounced off his boot allowing
00:51Carter-Wickers to clear. Yeah it's certainly not job done yet for Celtic. Complacency
00:59I don't think Brendan Rodgers will allow that to kick in but
01:03what we do know is the next goal in this game absolutely crucial.
01:11Rangers did manage a recovery in that remarkable 3-3 game at Ibrox back in April.
01:22And they need something similar here.
01:29Already forced into a change with Ravi Matondo injured and Ross McCausland on.
01:38Proper. Here is McCausland. Skipped away from Johnston and found Jeff Day but Bernardo there.
01:48It's a good opportunity that for the FD takes a really poor touch.
01:53Alistair Johnson had been rolled in that full-back position by McCausland so it opened up for the FD.
02:04Over the side of the summer Celtic have won their last nine Premiership games
02:08but here's Desses with some other weak effort from Rangers. He's got to do better.
02:17I'm sorry it's a really good opportunity brilliant from McCausland catching Bernardo
02:24and I mean he's just trying to shape it but it's so weak.
02:29It's a couple of sniffs that Celtic have given Rangers though.
02:32Yeah I would say that Celtic have started a second half just a little bit sluggish.
02:37Caught in possession where it was Rangers that was getting caught in possession in the first 45 minutes.
02:43One or two little opportunities. Desser's been the the best one but you have to take them.
03:18Firm game. Bernardo.
03:40Atate.
03:44McGregor.
03:49Into a couple of minor scares at the start of the second half. Celtic are back at it and have a corner.
03:56They're not going to change the way they play Celtic. They're confident with their build-up
04:00play. I think Roger's build-up play is better than the Rangers press.
04:05Scales and Kartivic is there to add a threat.
04:24Bernardo fizzing it in. Minor just behind Kiyoko. That's unbelievable and that's again I mean Rangers
04:31going zone a marking but again Mieda just walks right across the front of the four of them
04:36and gets a header right on the edge of the six yard line. They need to sort that out.
04:44Celtic need to sort out somebody attacking that back post area. Again.
04:52Nicholas Kuhn has kept this in. Bernardo.
04:55Kiyoko actually does make a run inside the back post on that occasion.
05:25Anticipates the flick but just behind him.
05:43Diomande is one of those on a yellow card. SchÀfte and Sterling also for Rangers and
05:49Alistair Johnston for Celtic after that earlier clash with Diomande.
05:57Familiar feeling at the moment for Philippe Clermont.
06:04They were close at times in the games last season.
06:10But coming close is not good enough in Glasgow. Quick kick here though.
06:15I couldn't see if Bernardo caught Diomande or not.
06:22From their position up here. One beating certainly.
06:26Pretty convinced about it. Just tries to step inside. Yeah that's a free kick isn't it?
06:41VĂĄclav Czerny making the signals. Suter and Prapa. Far post. Sterling in there too. Johnston met it.
06:49Prapa helped it on. Might have briefly stayed down but he's back up.
06:57Conor Barron pings that towards McCausland. Prapa.
07:01Czerny.
07:09In a position to cross and Suter. Sterling can't get there. Karthikov sneaks it away.
07:15That's a big chance you know. I think John Suter knows it as well. Czerny on the outside. We used to
07:20see him with in swingers but he's on the overlap there. There's a really good ball in over Sterling.
07:25I think he's got lots of time to see it coming just to get a better connection.
07:31It's a good period of the game for Rangers but they need to make it count any which way they can.
07:39Savanier hoisting it high. Schmeichel toiling. Suter knocking it back and the whistle has gone.
07:48Yeah the ball crossed the line I think when John Suter wins it at the back post.
07:53Comes off the post doesn't it? It's worked down there. I can see the shape of the ball.
07:59I don't think it was out actually was it? Has it come over the back of John Scales head maybe?
08:04Trying to work that out. It's a little sharp isn't it? The ball's not out.
08:13I didn't see what happened to Dessers just a couple of moments ago.
08:16Even though in proper wins at header I'm not quite sure what Cyril Dessers is trying to do.
08:21Trying to help it on or is he trying to get it on target?
08:24But again like the first half it's been a bright start from Rangers.
08:34One of Celtic's new arrivals. The man brought in to take Matt O'Reilly's position.
08:41Engels is warming up at the moment. Dyson Maida away.
08:46Maida, Hatate.
08:58Tavernier keeping him occupied.
09:03And actually played for the Rangers manager Philip Clement at Club Brugge.
09:20He gave him his senior debut all being in a friendly game.
09:27They were talking to each other before the game.
09:34Lovely pass from Maida. That's I've got to say James Tavernier gives up on that one. It's too easy.
09:44Amazing Maida. You know what he's looking to do. He runs in behind.
09:48Brilliantly weighted pass. Tavernier no body language expert.
09:53Looks like Tom Lawrence might be coming on for Rangers.
10:08Maybe in place of Diamande we think. Yeah Diamande played on the periphery hasn't he?
10:13He's not really got involved at all. Looking for much more to speak about it.
10:18Boy he was talking about that number 10 position and trying to stop
10:21Callum McGregor but he's been totally out of the picture Diamande.
10:26John Vickery was born with a whistle.
10:30Dyson Maida was away. Freak it. Why not let that go?
10:37It's unbeaten. Dyson Maida unhappy with that decision.
10:43It's a foul of course but Tatti gets his body in well.
10:51You see there Dyson Maida's away.
11:02It's not happening that quickly either.
11:13It's coming eventually from Paolo Bernardo.
11:31Bernardo off the head of Tavernier.
11:38There was really no need to do it I don't think because
11:41Scales, Carter Vickers had both run offside for me. If it was going to eventually get to them it
11:46would have been flagged but that's the uncertainty that Chris is maybe speaking about. But James
11:52Tavernier he's been really giving a tough time on Maida today. The whole defensive back line
11:58have struggled. Tom Lawrence's arrival is imminent but first Rangers have this to deal with.
12:05Kuhn, Atate.
12:11They're not wrong about being one of Rangers best defenders. They get away again.
12:16Celtic fans let them know as well.
12:22A change will happen now. It is going to be a little bit Diamande who makes way for
12:32Tom Lawrence who does have an eye for a goal scored his
12:36first of this season in that demolition of Ross County last week.
12:42I was kind of surprised that he didn't start. I actually had him down to start after his
12:46performance last week scored and I think sometimes when players get feelings
12:50and confidence it's it's a good idea to continue with that.
12:54Tavernier
13:02scales on his case.
13:24It's
13:36so interesting watching Celtic play. You know I know it's been done for a while under Ange
13:40Postacodua with the how they move at least one of the fullbacks into a central area just to
13:45dominate the centre of the pitch and what that does is that that's when that left back moves
13:49into the right back it really isolates the white players.
13:55And with the speed that he had and couldn't have it's a nightmare. Atate.
14:00Kiyoko is in again.
14:04And this time he isn't scoring. Close but not close enough. Yeah it was tight again wasn't it?
14:11I actually thought Atate could have played it earlier. He's got to finish that.
14:16I think the dude's trying to lift it over Butland but that should be game set and match for Celtic.
14:22What a pass it is. I think he is onside. I might be wrong but I think when he when he just takes
14:28off and he's run he is onside. Yeah he is. He is. And you expect the little man to finish it.
14:35He's going for the audacious one.
14:40But again it's a domination in the middle of the pitch and the isolation
14:44and the isolation of the wide players it means that the full backs can't come in because they're
14:49holding their width. Kuhn and Mieda. So the overload in the middle of the park for Celtic
14:54is just too strong at the moment for Rangers to get a grip of this match.
15:14Firm but fair.
15:22Ingels is going to come on shortly for his Celtic debut in place of Paolo Bernardo.
15:29That crunching challenge a moment ago being with the Serie A dancers and Carter Vickers. I mean it's
15:35just a message being sent out by the centre-back to say that you're not going to get any change
15:40here today. It's been such a physical battle between both players because this is a big boy
15:46he's quite he's strong but that was a little one where I just think I'll get the ball and
15:50I'll leave the message.
16:00Lawrence. Rangers know the importance and significance of scoring the next goal in this
16:08Here's this challenge I'm talking about. He knows he's going to get the ball but he's also
16:11going to get maybe a little bit of the man. No question it's a clean tackle for Mieda.
16:23Palmer Barron. Kuhn racing across.
16:28So just over the hour mark a debut beckoning for Manor Ingels.
16:42It will be 21 next Sunday. Tavernier's cross and McCausland nowhere near.
16:50He's got to show great care McCausland.
16:53Tavernier's trying to pick out Dessas. Dessas the timing of his run is excellent.
16:59Carter Vickers sees him off. Can't take a touch there McCausland.
17:03Well Palmer Bernardo makes way and Celtic Fire will give a huge welcome.
17:09With a record signing. Palmer Ingels a player that the Rangers manager Philip Remond knows.
17:17Their days together at Bob Roos and the new boy he's going to get half an hour
17:23to say what he's about here. Brought in following the departure of Matt O'Reilly
17:29to Brighton and by the way we wish Matt all the well all the best as he recovers from that
17:36horrible challenge the other night. Absolutely phenomenal player for Celtic.
17:43O'Reilly. I've got to say Bernardo has had a good hour as well as fitness getting up.
17:51Ingels chasing that one.
17:55Space in behind. Spot of him.
18:03It's one of those ones when you come in for your debut it's nice to come into this fit so you've
18:07probably read all about it heard all about it but it's nice for the boy to come into an environment
18:12where they're comfortable in the match and he can come and show these fans what he's capable of.
18:17Tess is now for Lawrence and Jeff Day is available on the left. Lawrence will use him.
18:24Jeff Day across. McCausland had the initial swing at that I think.
18:30Cerny I think unhappy about something with it. He felt that McCausland took the ball away from him
18:37and he did. Yeah he did. Still I think McCausland should control that on target the effort.
18:45Rangers wasteful they've just got to concentrate on the connection there.
18:54Two rather wild attempts from
18:57Austin McCausland and Vaslav Cerny was waiting right behind.
19:12Ingles.
19:13Kiyoko.
19:29Sterling got a toe in.
19:30Scales always winning right ahead of Tess's.
20:00He worked so hard out of possession as well. Everybody associates Callum McGregor.
20:15Wonderful technician he is. Knits everything together. He's a grafter.
20:31Scales. Taylor.
20:45Kuhn. Johnston.
20:50Kuhn again. McGregor.
20:55Johnston.
20:56Oh. Diverted and Dutton reacted swiftly. Really good stop from Jack Butland. He was going to
21:02cover the cross which was a really good one from Alistair Johnston. Improper just takes a nick
21:07off the left foot there. He had to really change his stride pattern, change direction
21:13and get that left hand down there.
21:26The point of riding took the corners. Ingles is doing the same.
21:34Ingles in. Away by Suter. Look at this Kuhn blocked by Lawrence and
21:40seems to fall him a little awkwardly.
21:46Now Kuhn strikes the ball. It's a really good block I have to say but the momentum of Lawrence
21:53and then coming together just sends Kuhn flying.
22:03It's real. Desus has been booked there for presumably something he said to John Beaton.
22:10He's got a bloody lip there so he's obviously taking one and he's not been happy about it and
22:15going and ask the question to John Beaton probably too aggressively and he's having none of it.
22:21You don't want to know that captain's the only guy to talk to the referee on the pitch.
22:39Proper for Tavernier. Nicely taken by the Rangers captain. Desus goes back to Stirling.
22:51But a weak one for you.
23:09I think in defense of John Beaton he thought it was a head injury. I think he was gesturing
23:16but a couple of times Celtic have had the advantage. Does take one in the face.
23:27Yeah it's a blatant block from Tom Lawrence but I felt that Celtic were on the
23:30attack again there. But you're right because I think it probably does feel that it's a head knock.
23:36It's the safety of the player is paramount of course.
23:39I don't often stick up for John Beaton.
23:43Rangers have had five players booked now. There's only been two red cards in the last 16 All Firms
23:53which is quite good going but they were both received by Rangers here
23:57last season. Leon Balligan and John Lundstrom.
24:08We are about to see a major Celtic milestone shortly with James Forrest
24:17coming on for his 500th appearance.
24:20But here is VĂĄclav KĂŒrny.
24:51KĂŒrny.
24:55Taylor clears.
25:03Matate. Kyogo. Stutzer committed himself.
25:09Watch out Cotland's getting to that ahead of Kuhn. The pass wasn't what was required.
25:14What a pass from Matate there to Kyogo. The weight of it was sensational.
25:26My only surprise is because he doesn't keep going with it. I know he tried to play the early one
25:31but he just turns to one shooter and just eliminates him.
25:35Kuhn. Kyogo. Right down for now. Alistair Johnson has got himself into the box.
25:49Kyogo's effort is blocked by Suter.
25:57Now there's going to be another
25:58error card and this time it's for Celtic and it's for Kuhn.
26:05Yeah he gets there late. Cleans out Yefti. I think it's a good part of Yefti's game is
26:09balling but look at this. That's the touch. Great pass that Chris is talking about. I just
26:13felt he could have maybe just gone on and really committed Yefti. A bit of frustration from Brendan.
26:21Just wants that third doesn't he?
26:24Celtic a bit. A bit more breathing space. Still a lot to do.
26:33The Rangers are hanging in there knowing that they need to score the next goal.
26:43Some better signs in this second half after a good general start to the game.
26:53And so James Forrest is about to make it to 500 games for Celtic Football Club.
27:02He scored six minutes into his debut as a sub back in 2010 against Motherwell when he was 18.
27:10He replaces Nicholas Kuhn and he becomes the 13th Celtic player to notch up 500 matches.
27:23It's quite unbelievable isn't it? The kid that comes through the academy gives such an
27:30impact on this football club. 500 appearances is something very very special you know.
27:37From Celtic ball boy to 500 games for the club.
27:4424 trophies along the way. Only Bobby Lennox has one more and only one more.
27:50So Forrest could become Celtic's most decorated soon enough.
28:08Tremendous servant to Celtic throughout his career and played a pivotal part in that
28:17magnificent run-in at the end of last season.
28:20Always felt that James Forrest is slightly under-appreciated.
28:32Tessas surely can't get to that.
28:38Tim Forrest.
28:43Tavernier. We're in a position now.
28:48Forrest is not going to score is he on his 500th? Not with Stirling about there.
28:52Although he's on to this again.
28:57Souter. Celtic cry handball. That will be checked by Andrew Dallas on VAR.
29:06And here come Rangers with Tom Lawrence.
29:09Look at Keogh getting back. That's unbelievable.
29:13I mean that little man going 60 yards at full tilt.
29:17Followed by Hatate. The energy and the driving willingness of the Celtic team.
29:22It's clearly a separation never mind the quality of Celtic half.
29:26I can't believe he hasn't got back up front yet.
29:31Come on.
29:32There won't be a penalty for that potential handball against Souter.
29:43Arms by the side apparently but we'll have a look at that in a moment.
29:48Forrest trying to slide it through to Engels but Chepty in the way.
29:54Neglected the easy pass. He's made of working.
29:58Miner crashing in. McGregor fancies another screamer.
30:03And he's only gone and done it for the third time this season.
30:10Absolutely magnificent from the captain.
30:16He is setting the standard already. Celtic are setting the standard already.
30:22In Glasgow and in Scotland.
30:26What a finish this is. It's a trademark effort from Callum McGregor this season.
30:34Another wonderful strike but winning the ball back high up once again.
30:39Working so hard out of possession. Shifts it onto that left foot to get a yard.
30:46And he fizzes it. I just wonder does it come off Sterling?
30:49Sterling starts. Matt does not to Celtic.
30:52And their captain. 3-0. Three points.
30:58And a golf. A massive golf between the teams.
31:03Well just about to say he just felt something was coming.
31:05That it was either going to be a penetrating pass or something up from the captain.
31:10But then again he's been immaculate hasn't he? Let's be honest.
31:13And yes it's a huge deflection off of Sterling.
31:16Stunning again despite the deflection as a Celtic fan comes on for his debut.
31:24What a story this is for Luke McCallum signed from Dundee.
31:29Played previously for Air United. Outstanding for both.
31:33He's going to make his Celtic debut in an Old Firm with a 3-0 lead in place of Rayo Hatate.
31:40And Diogo is also going to be replaced by Adam Ida who came on to score
31:48the Scottish Cup final winner against Rangers at the end of last season.
31:54A first taste of playing for Celtic for Luke McCallum and when he walked out here
32:00when he signed the smile on his face was one of the one of those football moments wasn't it?
32:06Yeah he's absolutely wonderful supporter of the club.
32:10It's a dream for him but he'll have that determination now to go and perform.
32:15The only slight concern I have from Celtic's point of view.
32:19Hatate hobbled off. Diogo hobbled off.
32:24Hopefully there's no real injury concerns.
32:29A couple of really key players but Celtic a bit of strength in depth now off the bench.
32:36The Rangers are going to make a triple change themselves shortly and we will see a debut for
32:42Hansa Igamane. The Moroccan Danilo and Nico Raskin are also going to come on.
32:51Yeah that's a change that might come on. It's an interesting one. Igamane has no experience
32:59whatsoever of Scottish football and you throw him into a game like this in an arena like this
33:04I'm not sure what he's expecting but here is Jessup who's about to be replaced.
33:12McCausland have Rangers got anything to offer?
33:16Tavernier and Schmeichel there wasn't as much to do this season is equal to that.
33:22I'm just just gonna say that the decent effort from Tavernier but it's a decent save.
33:30Churley's cross away by Ida.
33:34David just wondering Chris you fight him don't you?
33:38No absolutely. Let's it drop Tavernier but yeah I think that's the first proper save Schmeichel's had to make Ian.
33:48Yep Sante Park is rocking again and the Rangers are going to make
33:57those changes now as the fans the milk of the moment once more a familiar
34:04sight in Scottish football on this famous old arena is actually bouncing.
34:18That's what's trying to get me to join in there I wasn't having it close.
34:34In fact Rangers having to
34:38bring on Leon Baligan because Robert Proper is having to go off with a mock apparently.
34:45So one of those subs will change but Igamane is still coming on Liko Raskin isn't.
34:56So here we go then Robin Proper.
35:00His old firm debut ends and Leon Baligan comes on.
35:07Liko Raskin is actually coming off for Dijon Sterling.
35:12And the Moroccan Hamza Igamane just 21 years of age
35:19will make his Rangers debut in place of Vaclav Churley.
35:27Did you stop the bleeding here Rangers?
35:30We're talking about Igamane just getting a little taste of Scottish football what an introduction
35:34that is but good to see Raskin back for Rangers he's really struggled to get game time.
35:40Long injury last season then picks up one in the pre-season which doesn't help the group.
35:47I mean I felt at half time that this could be four or five just the way the
35:51the game was going the threat that Celtic possessed and Rangers need to try and stop this.
36:02Tom Lawrence.
36:05Pisses.
36:06Staying on for now.
36:15Rangers have some forlorn figures out there now.
36:19Hasn't clicked in the final third at all has it but Rangers real combination play and link up and understanding.
36:29Been well beaten in every department.
36:35So
36:54and then it's the second biggest game in Britain today Manchester United against Liverpool.
37:06Oh
37:28Jeff Tate.
37:36So
37:47Jeff Tate.
37:50Kosovic is there naturally.
38:06Barron.
38:16Oscar-winning actor Kristoff Valtz taking the game in today played Blofeld in the Bond film Spectre.
38:25It is a day for heroes and villains.
38:32Taylor.
38:36So
38:43Balogun turned that away from Maida.
38:47Here's McCowan.
38:55So
39:04he also carries a big threat.
39:10Rangers may well take three nil right now.
39:16Darren got there ahead of Johnston.
39:18I don't see what it's come to hasn't it.
39:21Guy Brookes.
39:24Taking a mauling from the greatest rivals.
39:27That's not good.
39:30Tom Lawrence.
39:34McCausland.
39:36Held up by scales but here is Lawrence.
39:40Costas Michaels having that.
39:47I could read Casper.
39:52Michael there you could see that Tom Lawrence is trying to find an army out in the left side
39:56coming in just trying to clip it over the top of Carter Vickers.
40:01That's first Michael lost his only other game against Rangers for
40:05Falkirk back in 2007 when he was beaten by Chris Boyd of all people and Barry Ferguson.
40:12Lawrence McCausland.
40:21McCausland having another go.
40:24Scales in the way again.
40:28And the former Rangers captain is here watching on all smiles.
40:37Ambassador for the club now.
40:39Yeah they've missed somebody like his leadership drive.
40:45He was very very important in this picture.
40:47Well his ability to pass.
40:48Yeah yeah.
40:49He pulls you on the ball yeah.
40:50You're right.
40:54Okay McCausland and Maida had a bit of a coming together there.
40:58John Beaton stepping in.
41:00Final five minutes of the 90.
41:04Chavanier's corner.
41:10With McCallum chasing it down.
41:14She'd been perfect from Celtic's perspective, Brendan Rodgers' perspective.
41:23Came up against your biggest rivals.
41:25Able to to bludgeon new additions.
41:29Game's already over.
41:31Get that understanding with the teammates.
41:37Celtic feeling good.
41:38Very good going into the international break.
41:42Not so much the case for Rangers who once again will
41:45McCausland.
42:15Forrest.
42:35Taylor.
42:38McCowan.
42:38McCallum.
43:01Give me the ball anyway.
