00:00Released in 2001, Beast Wars Transmetal's Tripredacus Agent represents a revived and
00:21upgraded Predacon Ravage, explored in fiction tied to the Beast Wars cartoon. The toy is
00:27a redeco of Transmetal 2 Cheetor, which if you recall, not a fan. They went a bit wild
00:33making a more mature and edgier Cheetor, to the point where, I'd argue, they deliberately
00:39hampered the articulation to help pull off that aesthetic. Sadly, the limited posability
00:45was not fixed here, nor the permanent hunchback. However, I have a far, far easier time accepting
00:52this brutal-looking design as the savage Ravage than cyber-puberty Cheetor, especially
00:58since, again, Ravage was killed off in the Beast Wars cartoon, and the twisted, asymmetrical
01:04nature of the Transmetal 2's arguably creates a Frankenstein's monster or zombified motif
01:10for him. And that's not getting into the deco. The black, silver, red, gold, chrome,
01:16yes, even the flat grey, works a treat. Some of the red and black has unfortunately chipped
01:22off, but most of the gold has surprisingly remained intact.
01:28For Robot Mode, IDW's 2006 Beast Wars comics, literally is the Beast Mode stood up, same
01:35head and everything, with the forearm guard still on the left, and the torso details upside
01:40down from Cheetor. To this mould's credit, the Beast Mode can actually stand on its hind
01:46legs to pull that off, though the thumbs are still on the wrong sides. Well, it's not
01:51like the hands were of much use before. As a Cheetor recolour, Tripredacus Agent's
01:56actual Robot Mode, as seen in the 3H comics, marks one of the few occasions where a Ravage
02:02has a humanoid-ish head, which definitely suits him what with that fierce expression.
02:08Again, posability is not much of an improvement from Beast Mode, and partially affects his
02:13ability to wield his weapons, but man, that design absolutely rocks this colour scheme.
02:20As a Transmetal 2 redeco, Tripredacus Agent retains the spark crystal gimmick, with his
02:26hidden inside his left leg. You know what faction to expect this time.
02:32If there's a case where the character choice makes or breaks a toy for me, it's here.
02:37Tripredacus Agent wears this mould like it was always his own, to the point where I'm
02:42actually bumping this redeco up to a bronze. No higher than that given the mould's limitations,
02:48to say nothing of the barebones transformation, even for a deluxe. Also, Tripredacus Agent
02:54is pretty rare compared to Cheetor, but if you're completing your Beast Wars collection,
02:58he's mildly worth the hunt.
