Boresight awarded $2.2 million for their drone prototype

Canberra company, Boresight, has been awarded $2.2 million for their drone prototype by the federal government

00:00In our facility here, we do all of the manufacturing, so we 3D print the airframe of the drone.

00:10We design and create the flight control systems.

00:16Everything is then assembled with all the manufacturing, shipping and distribution done

00:21out of this facility here in Fishwick, where we're making over a thousand drones, or we've

00:26made over a thousand drones so far, and we have the capacity to make about 3,000 a year.

00:31This is our BQ400 target drone.

00:34This is actually drone number 1,000.

00:37To date, we're at about 1,800 drones, and number 2,000 will come out of the factory

00:42in the next few weeks.

00:43This drone is used as a target for counter drone training.

00:47Many of them only fly once, and they get shot out of the sky.

00:51These drones also fly hundreds of hours, emulating drone threats for militaries and companies

00:58that do counter drone systems.

01:01So far, we've exported to Scandinavia, the Netherlands, UK, Spain, many customers in

01:09the US, and of course, Australia and New Zealand.
