00:00Welcome back to our van build. As if putting in three huge skylights wasn't enough, we decided
00:04to take it a step further and try to mimic the view from inside a slot canyon. And spoiler,
00:09this took a few tries. First we laid out the ceiling panels, marking off where the current
00:13skylights were. Then I transferred the design onto the panels and Ed and made the cuts. All the
00:17panels went from this to this. But when we put them up we realized the mistake that we made and
00:22I'll just let Ed and tell you. One little wrong measurement. Because that line is an inch too
00:26short. All three of these panels now just don't line up. And all three of them need to be remade.
00:31We also realized that the curve needed an inner wall to block the straight frame behind it,
00:34so we came up with this idea of making a lip along the curve and using bendy ply to make
00:39that wall. Even though bendy ply is bendy, some spots needed even more bend, so we steamed the
00:43wood and clamped it in place while screwing it in. Then we primed and concreted the panels,
00:48and once that was done, they went in. This took a team and a few adjustments, but voila,
00:52we have ourselves a canyon skylight. And the best part? We absolutely love how it came out.
