00:00Terence breaks the ice.
00:04It was almost Christmas, and the tracks had become very icy.
00:13The fields and trees were covered in snow, and there was ice on the pond.
00:19But none of that was of any concern to Terence.
00:23Terence is a crawler tractor with caterpillar tracks instead of wheels.
00:28He was working with the woodsmen.
00:30They were cutting down trees to take to Tidmouth for the Christmas market.
00:35Hi, Terence!
00:37Hello, Thomas!
00:38Are these all my trees?
00:40We're just collecting a few more. Won't be long now.
00:48I see you're wearing your snowplough!
00:51Well, it's very snowy out here.
00:54Not that you've ever been bothered by snow and ice.
00:57Your caterpillar tracks are proving as useful as ever.
01:00Oh, now they're useful, eh?
01:03You didn't seem to think so when we first met, remember?
01:13Hello! I'm Terence. I'm ploughing.
01:17I'm Thomas. I'm pulling a train.
01:20Oh, what ugly wheels you've got.
01:22They're not wheels. They're caterpillar tracks.
01:26I can go anywhere. I don't need rails.
01:31See? It's easy when you have caterpillar tracks.
01:35I don't want to go anywhere. I like my rails.
01:42I didn't realise your wheels were useful then.
01:45And as I recall, you also didn't realise your snowplough was useful then either.
01:51I don't like this nasty weather, Annie.
01:55Neither do I, Clarabelle.
01:57Uh, Thomas, maybe you should go back for your snowplough.
02:03Just to be safe.
02:05I don't need that heavy, uncomfortable plough.
02:08Snow is silly, soft stuff.
02:12It won't stop me!
02:14Centres and ashes!
02:19I'm stuck!
02:22Oh! I'll have to stay here till I'm frozen solid.
02:27Oh, what a silly engine I am.
02:30But it was lucky snow never bothered me,
02:33and I was able to come to your rescue, Thomas.
02:45Thank you, Terence.
02:47I have to admit, your caterpillar tracks are splendid,
02:51and I'll never call them ugly again.
02:53And I hope you'll wear your snowplough in future.
02:56Remember, you have to be sensible...
03:01...if you want to stay safe.
03:05Ever since that day, I've always worn my snowplough in bad weather.
03:10That's the rest of the trees for Tidmouth, Thomas.
03:17TIDMOUTH
03:27Hmm, yes. Oh, they're all very nice, Thomas.
03:31And perfect for the Christmas market.
03:33But, oh, where's the big tree for Ulstead Castle?
03:38Er, what big tree, sir?
03:41Didn't I ask you to bring back a really huge tree for the Earl's Christmas Fair?
03:46You never said anything about that, sir.
03:49Oh, no. I must have forgotten to mention it.
03:53The Earl loves to have an enormous Christmas tree
03:57that he can decorate with tinsel and lights and...
04:00Don't worry, sir. As soon as I've unloaded this lot,
04:03I'll go back and ask the woodsman to find the biggest tree in the forest.
04:08Oh, thank you, Thomas. That would be marvellous.
04:13Oh, you be careful out there, Thomas.
04:15There's more snow on the way.
04:17Don't worry, sir. I'm wearing my snowplough.
04:29Phew! I really do need to be extra careful in this weather.
04:33Are you back for more trees, Thomas?
04:36Just one very big tree for Ulstead Castle, please, Terence.
04:41Ah, I know where there's an enormous tree.
04:45Just over there, on the other side of the pond.
04:49Don't go over the pond, Terence. The ice might not be strong enough.
04:53I told you, Thomas. Snow and ice don't bother me with my caterpillar tracks.
05:01Oh, look at me!
05:05See? I can go anywhere!
05:09Terence! The ice isn't safe!
05:35Terence! Come back! Come back!
05:40The ice is cracking!
05:42Don't worry! I'm almost at the other...
05:47Oh, no!
05:48Terence!
05:49Service!
05:54Oh, no!
05:55Oh, no!

06:11Quick! Go get help!
06:12That will take too long!
06:15Get some chains! I'll pull him out!
06:19Help!
06:33Get back! Get back! He's sinking!
06:36No! Service!
06:43That's it, Thomas! That's it!
06:46Ah!
06:48Ah!
06:50Ah!
06:55Ah!
06:56Ooh!

07:00Keep pulling, Thomas!
07:03Ah!
07:05We're almost there!
07:16I'm sorry, tree!
07:19I'm sorry!
07:24Thank you, T-T-Thomas.
07:27Are you OK?
07:28Yes. I thought I was being clever
07:31and I could g-g-go anywhere with my caterpillar tracks.
07:35I should have listened to my own advice.
07:38You have to be sensible if you want to stay safe.
07:49I'm sorry I lost the Earl's tree, sir.
07:52It's more important that you are safe, Terence.
07:56I am, thanks to Thomas.
07:59Oh, look! I think the Earl's ready now.
08:03Welcome, welcome, everyone!

08:33And a very Merry Christmas to you all!
