00:00Ah, yes, the last grand slam of the season, the U.S. Open in New York City, obviously
00:09underway.
00:10A lot of upsets already happened.
00:11We are going to determine who is going to win a men's and women's championship at the
00:15Open.
00:16Having said that, Dubs, have we been enjoying the tennis action here in Flushing Meadows?
00:21It's been fantastic.
00:22You know, the slams in tennis hit a little differently, Donnie, and there's a couple
00:26of big storylines with a couple of big names not a part of the picture.
00:30On the men's side of things, I mean, the American players, this is the best tournament we've
00:33seen in 15, 20 years.
00:35I daresay Carlos Alcaraz, he's no longer a part of the picture.
00:40We don't get to see the likes of Rafa Djokovic, so to say maybe it's a changing of the guard,
00:46but I'm certainly welcoming it and starting to see some of this new young blood coming
00:51through on the men's side.
00:52That's what we want to see.
00:53We need to see new profiles, new characters.
00:55Everyone's sick of seeing the big three and then all this being about Carlos Alcaraz.
00:58So, yeah, I've absolutely been getting amongst it.
01:01Taylor Fritz, what a performance from the big fella, 26-year-old from out here in California,
01:07came in to the quarterfinals here at the U.S. Open with an 0-4 record.
01:11Just hasn't managed to take that forward step.
01:14Well, ultimately shows up, gets it done out there on the hard court.
01:18The bad news for Taylor Fritz, Donnie, he's now going to go against one of his best mates
01:22in TIFA on Friday to see who's going to the first final of a Grand Slam.
01:28At least one moves through there.
01:29And it's been a long time.
01:30Like we used to, look, Agassi back in the day, Jimmy Connors, McEnroe, took some great
01:35U.S. men's tennis players.
01:37And it's been some time, which it should be dominant.
01:40I always get upset with that.
01:41Like why does the rest of the world dominate in tennis, but we can't step up to the plate?
01:44Maybe making a breakthrough in this U.S. Open.
01:47We take a look at some of the major scores yesterday here, Dubs.
01:50You had that Fritz beat Zverev three to one yesterday.
01:53Also, Tiafoe.
01:54These are the ones that I think you do get a little bit of benefit of because he had
01:57the lead and you also had an injury, which knocked Dimitrov out, which means you have
02:01to spend like an extra two hours in that heat on the court and play the wear and tear.
02:05Maybe a slight advantage now for Tiafoe going up against Fritz.
02:08And on the women's side, Savalenko beat Zhang 2-0.
02:11And then you also saw Emma Navarro beat Paula Badosa 2-0 as well.
02:15So we're setting up for some good tennis here as we move forward.
02:18Now, if we take a look at the Wednesday U.S. Open odds today with a couple of matches,
02:22Yannick Sinner, a minus 280 over Daniil Medvedev, who's a plus 220 as a dog.
02:27Alex D. Menor, how about that?
02:29Minus 128 versus Jack Draper at a plus 106.
02:32And then on the women's side, Igor Sviantek, minus 360, a heavy favorite over the American
02:37Jessica Pagulia at a plus 285 number.
02:39And then we have Haddad Maya, plus 225 versus Muchova at a minus 280.
02:45We're trying to get through these names here, Dubsy, but we got some big tennis on the horizon.
02:48Hey, Donnie, you're an absolute expert.
02:51What about D. Menor, my Aussie?
02:53He's known as the demon.
02:55Young Alex going against the UK lad there in Jack Draper.
02:57A couple of great matchups.
02:59Look, Yannick Sinner, having a lot of people go after him coming into this tournament,
03:03had two failed tests with advanced substance, but has still managed to play some fantastic
03:09tennis there.
03:10He's up top of the world rankings as well.
03:13But it does not get any easier going against Medvedev, who's still at plus 440 in the futures
03:17market.
03:18He was a value place for us on the show here last week.
03:21He's the hardcourt specialist, and this is a dog who enjoys playing in this kind of environment.
03:26Medvedev is going to get every kind of abuse thrown at him, and he loves it.
03:30He eats it up.
03:31He's had a win here at the US Open back in 2021, so I think we could be getting set for
03:35a bit of a takeover.
03:36If you're looking at the matchup between Jack Draper and D. Menor, the demon, I like the
03:40demon straight up at minus 134.
03:42Don't overthink that one.
03:43And if you're looking at creative ways to jump in and play the tennis betting where
03:47you've got a really juiced-up favorite in Sabalenka, which makes a lot of sense, keep
03:53an eye on this game.
03:54I think Sabalenka gets the win, but Jessica Pergola has always played some very good tennis
03:58going up against her.
03:59They've played four times over the last two years.
04:01They've split a two-head apiece here.
04:03And for Sabalenka to win this one, two sets to one, we can get plus 150, so a little plus
04:09money if we can take it the distance and play the three sets.
04:12It's a home game here for Jessica Pergola.
04:14She is going to be buoyed.
04:15She's going to be charging off that environment that just hasn't managed to find that way
04:19to the next step, trying to make it through the finals here, off the slams.
04:23This is the best test you're ever going to get.
04:26How about this?
04:27On the men's side, the US Men's Futures, Yannick Sinner to win the Open at a minus 115 price
04:31here at the FanBlue Sportsbook, followed by Fritz at plus 360, Medvedev at plus 460, and
04:35Frances Tiafoe at 10 to 1, so four guys at 10 to 1 or less.
04:39If we're taking a look at the women's US Open Futures here at the FanBlue Sportsbook, Sabalenka
04:44minus 120 price, Svantek at a plus 230 price, Muchova plus 650, and then Navarro at an 11
04:50to 1 price, and we just talked about there, Jessica Pergola, 13 to 1 number here.
04:55If we're taking a look quickly here, who is your picks, men and women here, Dubsy?
04:59Who's winning it?
05:00Oh, I think Swiatek ultimately gets it done.
05:03I think it'll be a great matchup coming up this afternoon going against Jess on the men's
05:06side.
05:07I'll stick with Medvedev.
05:08He shortened up, was double digits last week, now sitting there around plus 440, so I think
05:13we get an upset.
05:14I think Taylor Prince, he'll make it through the final.
05:17Can he get it done?
05:18He's going to have to come up with his very best.
05:20Our number two on deck, right here on the Early Line, Sirius XM Channel 159.
