I’m confused as to why some make the simplest of simple actions like taking notes more and more complicated. The only conclusion I’ve come up with is the fear of missing out.

00:00Yesterday I saw a tweet about someone wanting a notes app.
00:04I was like great.
00:05I've done loads of research in the past two or three weeks.
00:08I chose a notes app and the best notes app there is without doubt for
00:13me is Apple notes.
00:15Now everyone's different people like bare notes and craft and so on.
00:19So I get it.
00:20But the simplest app the simplest thing that you can use to capture
00:27your data is the best notes app people use notes in different ways
00:34for research for meeting notes research Etc.
00:39Like a second brain.
00:40I use it as an archive everything's in there even put project files
00:45in there.
00:46Everything is in Apple notes.
00:48I'm actually thinking of starting to journal in Apple notes is not
00:52something I've done.
00:53But this person again replied and said that they were using that they
01:01wanted Zapier into integration and they use other apps to populate
01:06their notes and it got me thinking as to why are you complicating a
01:13note-taking app things that you should be writing down you should be
01:19making notes of not gathering information automatically from different
01:28places.
01:28I'm kind of lost in that sense as to why you want to populate your
01:35second brain.
01:39From a different way not from your own brain.
01:41Does that make sense?
01:42So I got confused.
01:45Am I missing something?
01:46What am I missing?
01:47When do you have like if you have so so many entries in your notes app
01:54when the do you have time to go back and read everything?
01:59We're all busy.
02:00We're all working.
02:01We're all we want to you know, live our lives to the fullest.
02:05We don't want to sift through notes after notes after notes and task
02:12managers tasks within the notes and just everything in a note.
02:17We want to take clear concise notes.
02:21So then we can act on those things and and kind of keep them as an
02:25archive.
02:25But if you're populating your notes app from external sources, you got
02:32so much fluff and stuff in there.
02:35When do you actually have the time to do it?
02:39Thing is it's the fear of missing out.
02:41It's the FOMO thing.
02:42I got to capture everything.
02:45But when the fuck do you have the time to go through it all?
02:48It's crazy to me.
02:51It seems everyone likes making things so complicated, but then they
02:56want a tool to uncomplicate it.
02:59Don't fucking complicate it in the first place.
03:02What's the what's the what's the deal here?
03:05What am I missing?
03:06Am I missing something?
03:07Wolf?
03:08Seriously, tell me if I'm missing something.
03:11I'd love to understand people's ideas of how what a simple notes app
03:19is.
03:19Why you're populating your notes app, which should be an archive with
03:24a bunch of stuff that you would never really ever look at again.
03:28When are you going to do it when you're 70 80 years old sitting in a
03:32rocking chair?
03:33Shouting at kids.
03:34I don't get it.
03:37Let me know.
03:39Anyway, as always keep it simple don't complicate things.
03:44I'll see you in the next one.
03:46Ciao.
