00:00Hello everybody, it's George Gomez at Stern Pinball, and before I reveal our new game,
00:06I want to tell you an X-Men story.
00:08When I was in the fifth grade, I used to hide my X-Men comics in my geography book.
00:13One day I got caught while reading the issue where the Juggernaut fought the X-Men.
00:17Fast forward to the 80s and I was working at Midway Games and still reading the X-Men.
00:22The story that sticks in my mind is one of the greatest X-Men stories ever told.
00:27It's called The Days of Future Past, and that is the comic book that the new game is
00:32based on.
00:34Our heroes are trapped in a dismal future, and to reverse their fate, they must travel
00:38through time to change the past.
00:42I'm very happy to present The Uncanny X-Men, brought to you by Jack Danger, Waysan Chang,
00:49Kevin Kolodziej, a musical score by Charlie Benanti, audio production by Jerry Thompson,
00:56and of course, Chuck Ernst Group has created all original animations and video content
01:02for the game.
01:04The art is by Zombie Yeti, and it is truly a love letter to the epic Marvel illustrations
01:10that created the iconic X-Men franchise.
01:14The first thing you'll notice is a truly unique playfield layout.
01:18Jack has created a completely fresh array of shots, with surprising ball trajectories
01:23and results.
01:24Add to that a mechanically articulated sentinel that reacts physically to game events.
01:30The bottom of the playfield is also truly unique, themed around the famous X-Men training
01:36facility, the Danger Room.
01:38You too will have to train to survive it.
01:41Of course, the game features a huge cast of X-Men.
01:44Wolverine, Magneto, Professor X, Storm, Colossus, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Mystique, and all of
01:51your favorites.
01:53Stern Technology provides new ways to play with Insider Connected.
01:57And now, Jack will take you through the game.
02:00Have fun.
02:01Play The Uncanny X-Men.
02:03Hi, I'm Jack Danger, designer of Stern's all new The Uncanny X-Men.
02:07Growing up, I've always loved comics, and X-Men was the comic to have as a kid.
02:13And now that this is a pinball machine title I get to work on, I couldn't have been more
02:16excited to get started on this.
02:18Let's jump into my craziest layout yet with the features of the Elyon Premium Edition.
02:25Let's start with the main big bad from the X-Men universe, the Sentinel.
02:29It's motorized, its chin breaks away, it even fights back with a kicking target in its mouth.
02:35The Sentinel's hands are also featured on the playfield, destroying wire forms and knocking
02:39the ball off of its path of trajectory.
02:42Next we have Beast's Lab.
02:44This is an elevated captive ball vary target.
02:47In the back you will also see a custom sculpted Wolverine action figure having been thrown
02:52by Colossus in what is known as the Fastball Special.
02:56Also included in the Ely is an interactive speaker expression lighting system with X-Men
03:00themed effects, which will also be available as an accessory.
03:03So let's talk about the layout of this game.
03:05I wanted a flow unlike anything that I've seen before.
03:08I wanted cross shots, I wanted ramps that were backwards, I wanted targets you couldn't hit
03:12on purpose.
03:13Essentially, I wanted to make something that was weird, fun, and engaging, and what's an
03:17X-Men game without a danger room?
03:19Located to the left of the main flipper, this is a high risk, high reward area featuring
03:23a mini flipper, a ramp, an outlink spinner, and a whole lot of danger.
03:28Hit the X-Jet crossover shot to the X-Mansion ramp to make your way to the danger room.
03:38The Cerebro Ball Lock mechanism holds the ball to transition to the future.
03:44The Midtown shot is a playfield elevated wire ramp that wraps around the back of the Sentinels
03:49head.
03:52Shoot the ball to Magneto's magnet, which is capable of catching and throwing the ball
03:56with special ball effects.
03:59Shoot the right subway shot to feed the back panel ramp.
04:06Look for the double turnaround downtown ramp to watch a ball do something you haven't seen
04:10before.
04:15The highway ramp on the right features a diverter that can feed the ball to the left or right
04:18flipper.
04:24Stay in the steel uptown left ramp with chrome wire form return.
04:32City Pride sneak in shot.
04:38Now let's take a look at the Pro Edition.
04:42Gamers will experience a lot of the same interactions and gameplay.
04:49Custom sculpted destructible Sentinel head bash toy with illuminated eyes.
04:55Beast Lab Leaper Target.
05:06Players can extend the fun with Stern's award-winning Insider Connected system by discovering mutants
05:11with Cerebro and using their mutant powers in online quests.
05:18So go rally the heroes of the past to save the future in Stern Pinball and Marvel's
05:21all-new The Uncanny X-Men at sternpinball.com.
