00:11So hands up, who wants it more? Liam Wilson and Yui Dib, they're about to meet with their
00:18boxing lives on the line at lightweight here in Wollongong tonight, Wilson and Dib.
00:25Go, yes it really is like that Ben isn't it, both careers are on the line here,
00:30whoever loses this is going to be put in a hard place.
00:34And fascinating to see what version we see of Wilson up here at lightweight, he's contested
00:41world titles twice at super featherweight and he's done very well indeed in both of those
00:48attempts without winning that elusive world title and now he's chasing Yui Dib who sees
00:55big things in his future if he can cause what would be an upset here tonight.
01:03Yeah Liam has got one of the best countering left hooks I've ever seen, it's incredibly fast and
01:09incredibly powerful. Yeah the left hook from hell, it is his signature punch and he will be
01:14looking for that against Yusuf Dib, Dib himself works off a really nice strong jab.
01:21Beautiful boxing. He'll want to get that into place here against Wilson early. Yeah definitely
01:25Yusuf Dib a very good technical boxer moving using the ring well at the start of the fight.
01:32Doing that really well, cutting him off, you know obviously Yusuf Dib's a lot of footwork,
01:37getting cut off, Liam doing a great job of that.
01:40Wilson closes in, tries to throw that lead right hand against Yusuf Dib.
01:51Yeah I've been wondering, you know I remember talking of Liam Wilson years ago and he told me
01:55how hard he struggled to make super featherweight and I'm surprised it's taken him so long to move
02:00up to lightweight but he looks good at the weight. He's done the weight very tough in recent years
02:08and was significantly more comfortable obviously yesterday. Yui Dib himself established
02:14at this weight now after fighting higher than this and it is Wilson to the body.
02:21Good body shot but you know very not his defense, Dib's very tight he's hardly getting touched with
02:28head shots at the moment. Yeah he looks very slick tonight as Yusuf Dib. He does. He comes
02:32back with a counter right hand too and he liked that. Good patience from Yusuf Dib as well.
02:39Obviously wait until the the shot was there. If it's not there he's not gonna not gonna take it.
02:43Yep he's not taking unnecessary chances actually. Boxing a very composed fight so far. Yeah he tries
02:49to counter with that right hand again there's Yusuf Dib and it's again Wilson leading to the
02:55body with that jab to the midsection of Dib. Now he closes him back in this neutral corner
03:02there's Wilson. Dib along to his right. Wilson looking to line up that big left hook. Yeah
03:10he'll use the right hand to lead and set up his body position on that powerful left hook.
03:18And if he connects with that there are a few who can stand up to it as Yusuf Dib comes forward
03:23with a right hand. Wilson meets him with another right hand.
03:28And they tangle right at the bell.
03:32Grounds. Yep. Very well Yusuf Dib that round. I must say it is pretty impressive that he fights
03:40out he's fought at a lighter division. He looks great at this division. When he told me after one
03:47of his early big wins you know back at the after party I got talking to him he told me how much he
03:54took off and I just I just thought it was crazy to be honest. And these are the highlights of
03:58the opening round as Billy Hussain talks to Yusuf Dib in the corner. Wilson boxing really nicely
04:04connecting with some good shots a couple of really nice body shots as well and then Dib
04:09with that good moment with the right hand right towards the end of the round. Nice countering
04:14right hand flush on the side of the chin. So a tight opening round as we expected.
04:30Barry you and I were calling that fight when Liam Wilson produced
04:34that left hook in Melbourne. Yes. Which will not be forgotten anytime soon. Never.
04:41In Australian boxing. And that guy lost the majority decision of the world champion.
04:47It was round two wasn't it? It was a bit later. An incredible shot as Wilson closes in and
04:55tries to get some shots away here against Yusuf Dib. Nice jab it is from Wilson.
05:00Dib is away again to his right evading and countering with that right hands.
05:08He had success with that shot in the opening round of Yusuf Dib.
05:13Now they hang on and they work as they break. I think the left hook will be great for Liam but
05:20I don't think he can over commit every single time. Maybe use it to cut him off.
05:23Yep. But don't go for it every single time. Dib's fighting a smart fighter at the moment.
05:29Yep for sure. They've obviously got their fight plan. They know the power that Liam possesses.

06:26Dib has done a great job of evading the power and getting outside. So far he has. You don't

06:44Very polished boxing performance from Yusuf Dib so far though. And disciplined as well.
06:49They've been very vocal about wanting to frustrate Wilson and make him fight their
06:55fight. And he's doing a pretty good job of that so far as Yusuf Dib. Yeah you can see they've
06:59got their fight plan down to a tee to frustrate Liam. Keep moving. Stay away and pick him off.

08:18You must remember that in his fight against Oscar Valdez for the world title in Arizona Liam
08:30Wilson boxed beautifully in the early stages. He was doing so well against the legendary Mexican.
08:36But his discipline went out the window. He came undone as they are saying he will do here.
08:43The Dib corner. Discipline so important for Liam Wilson. Definitely but you know like at the
08:48lighter weight he could have weakened him as he progressed in the fight.
08:53At light weight he might be able to fight the 10 rounds at a harder pace.
09:01Nice power in that left hook from Liam Wilson. Didn't land cleanly. Leads with the right hand
09:06trying to get the left hook away. Dib jabbing strongly. Moving nicely.

15:45why he's called for this fight tonight but you don't necessarily respect that mindset do you?
15:50Not really. I'm here for challenges and I know Curtis is going to be a walk forward fighter.
15:54He's going to be tough and yeah this is another challenge you know. Undefeated fighter I've got
15:58to try and conquer so here we go again. Barry you said that because you've tasted defeat. Because
16:04you've been knocked out before that you're going into this fight tonight with no fear.

16:13he's been in with some big scary guys before but there's always a fear of being knocked out and

19:46Some of the highlights from a really good round as we get into the Liam Wilson corner.
20:01Something I like. Something I like from Dib was every time Liam landed something big he was
20:05straight back on him. Dib was straight back on him going no I'm all good. I'm still here.
20:09I'm not lending my soul to him. I ain't crumbling.
20:14That's an intriguing fight that's for sure.
20:20And he stood up to the power of Wilson in that round. He took some flush shots
20:26and he was giving his own back. He fired right back. Certainly was. Round six of ten
20:33will we see a change in the contest. You know this is where Liam
20:36from beyond here he's had trouble in his recent fights and I think a lot of it had to do with the
20:41weight. I think he'll be a lot stronger. He counters with the left hook there. The right
20:46hand from Yusuf Dib got through. The left hook of Wilson came in response. He took it well though.
20:51He never batted an eyelid Yusuf. There's some sweat getting thrown around. We might get wet
20:58here by the way. A bit of blood too. A bit of blood. There's a right hand from Dib and another
21:03good shots. These from Yusuf Dib. He's on the chase now. Yusuf Dib with big moments. Wilson

21:41It is a very high quality bout indeed between these two world-class fighters. Well we knew
21:47that Liam Wilson was world-class. We've seen that in two attempts at world titles
21:52and plenty of other big performances but we've found out tonight Yusuf Dib most certainly is as
21:58well. Yeah this is the best he's ever looked and he does so with a big right hand. And again
22:05Dib coming forward now as well. Yes Wilson sits down on shots but Dib covers that well.
22:17I'm liking the fame from Dib as well. Yes he's doing a really good job. Jabbing away is Dib.
22:24He's had a big round six. Done some brilliant stuff this round Yusuf Dib.
22:37Jabs from both fighters. They're trying to find the big shot. It'll be Yusuf Dib trying to find
22:42that right hand. Liam Wilson he wants something big. He keeps searching for it but everything
22:50he scored with Dib has stood up to so far. And he fires back straight away. Good look at that there.

24:37At the start a lot of movement from Dib then that slowed down. Now maybe Liam slowing down.
24:43Yeah Dib's uh exchanging a lot more now. Yeah two right hands got through. There's a hook
24:50two off the back of it from Wilson. He tries to find the right hand. He's pouring in big shots
24:54as Wilson. Yusuf Dib has taken a couple of big shots flush on the chin. He hasn't battered an
25:01eyelid. He's got a great chin. He does. Wilson marching forward again. There's a right hand
25:06from him. That just takes him. Yeah brilliant right hands from Liam Wilson but Dib is showing
25:13what sort of chin he has. Certainly. Wilson boxing better here looking dominant this round.
25:20Counter right hand from Yusuf Dib. Yeah but countering again. Wilson's really putting the
25:26pressure on here. He is. He's standing there and if he's going to do that he's going to have to
25:30take some shots and he's happy to do so it seems is Wilson. Yep. He tries to fire and find something
25:38really big. Yusuf Dib counter right hands. Right hand as well. Uppercut and he turns that around
25:48goes to the body. There's Wilson. Bit of boxing from him. They're on the inside. An uppercut from
25:52Dib. Body shot from Wilson. That one. Oh that hurt. Has hurt Yusuf Dib. It's hurt Dib. He's felt that
25:59and here goes Liam Wilson. That was a vicious shot. That really hurt Yusuf. He has hurt him.
26:06He comes back and he comes back big. There's Dib again. Every time Liam lands Yusuf comes
26:12straight back with a big shot of his own. He does. He's really really got a great chin. He's
26:17in brilliant condition. Oh there's a right hand too from Yusuf Dib. Steps out and throws it.
26:23Wilson. He's right in the punching zone after hurting Yusuf Dib. He's taking big shots.

26:45here. Good shot with the right hand from Dib again. Wilson grimaces. Tries to get that body
26:53shot away. A body shot from Dib as well. Wilson tries to find the body. Where he's had success
26:59in this round. He reaches out with the right hand. Success to the body from Wilson in this round and
27:09he'll keep looking for that. But there's a right hand from Dib again. His straight right hand has
27:18been the punch of this fight. He finds it again. What a fight this is. And a brilliant round of
27:26boxing. As Dib gets through with a big shot right on the belt. But he walks back without a staggered
27:34Wilson. That was a big shot right on the belt.
28:04Right hand right on the belt. That was a bomb. And so was that. That was the body shot.
28:12And look at Yusuf Dib's face. He was in the middle of throwing his own punch but
28:20it caused some damage. But he came back big. Did Yusuf Dib. And we are getting deep in this one.
28:29I wonder how the judges are seeing it Ben because it's a see-sawing bout. Well they could be anything
28:34the scores. Yes. In this one because both fighters have been brilliant and have had so many moments.
28:41That was a good right hand again from Dib. Yep. You've got him in a headlock. It'll look like
28:48Liam early in the rounds will land some good shots and then later on he'll take them. So it's going
28:52to be very hard rounds to score especially these last few. Yes.
28:59Well they're both keen to take it out of the judges hands. The left hook. It is the left hook. He's got him. He's got him. Liam Wilson with the left hook from Hell.
29:14Again. Wow. The left hook from Hell. Oh my goodness. Wow. That is devastating stuff.
29:23Liam Wilson a world-class puncher. Wow.
29:29He has produced not one but two absolutely monstrous shots that have sent Yusuf Dib down
29:41and well and cruelly out. Traveled six inches. That left hook. Well look at this one.
29:48Oh. Right on the point of the chin. Might have traveled a foot.
29:54How about more for the trouble on the way down. Yes. And it is a devastating knockout victory
30:03with Yusuf Dib still crumpled on the canvas. Let's just hope Yusuf's okay. He's now sitting
30:11up up against the ropes but look at this. Oh right on the point of the chin. And then
30:16just a little bit of interest when it was already over. As we're saying through that fight Dib was
30:22taking them right hand so well but that left hook must have some power. As we said Liam Wilson's got
30:28the left hook from Hell and you know he's countering left hook. He saw the power and
30:32it only traveled six inches the first one. That fight was getting away from Liam Wilson. Yusuf
30:37Dib was starting to have things his own way. He was on top. He was putting on a great show
30:43but it just shows you one punch it just changes everything and you know very impressive. Especially
30:48a punch like that. Yes. A punch with that power. We know about the left hook. We've seen it before.
30:53We saw against Jesus Kwadwo. Yeah. We saw in that rematch against Joe Noyne and we've seen it
31:00against Navarrete the world champion to send him down and now we have seen it devastatingly
31:06and brutally against Yusuf Dib who was producing the performance of his life. He certainly was.
31:19That last one right on the chin. It'll be fascinating to see what the scores were doing
31:26at that point because it was a tough fight to score. Yeah it certainly was. It would be
31:34interesting then and that's good to see it is Billy Dib and Liam Wilson
31:44having a conversation
31:47and clearly the Dib family will be devastated but very pleasingly Yusuf Dib sitting up now
31:54and well aware of his surrounds and there's plenty of history between Liam Wilson and the Dibs
32:03and he did have a couple of things to say right after the knockout so let's hope
32:10that these words
32:14turn cordial at a point but this is the embrace that really matters. Yes. Yusuf Dib and Liam
32:20Wilson who both produced a fight of the year contender. Definitely. I'm sure there's a lot
32:27of respect for each other after that one. Yep. Incredible fight. Certainly was. What a fight it
32:36was. Ebbs and flows and Wilson started very very well then Dib came back and was boxing brilliantly
32:46and then it ends with a bang. As we know that left hook. That embrace is great to see.
32:56When he lands that left hook Ben we know what it does you know just incredible power. As I said it
33:02has to be because some of the right hands that Liam was landing was clean you seen the sweat
33:06just going straight off him took him like a champ but that left hook just had something else. Ben and
33:11I have seen him do it a few times and he's just got the best left hook. Okay let's make it official
