00:00I'm in Juliet in Cutthroat Bill's gang, so we're, we are the gang, we are the bad gang.
00:06I'm kind of a good guy though. I'm a bad guy with a bit of heart.
00:11Juliet's a psychopath and I think we try to keep her a little bit level-headed, you know.
00:19So I think that's my place in this particular gang.
00:25So yeah, there's a level of kindness to my character, I think.
00:30She's not all bad, whereas Juliet playing Cutthroat Bill, she's bad to the bone, right.
00:38So I think I maybe try here and there to pull her back a bit.
00:42That's essentially who I am, but of course we've been in this gang for years and we do bad stuff.
00:52So we were in Calgary, it was minus 35 degrees, so wow, was there a best moment?
01:04I had good fun, you know, I think I may have shot the lead singer of Metallica.
01:10Peter and I are producing partners and we were given this book, The Thicket by Joe Lansdale, a brilliant book.
01:17We read it and we immediately thought that we had to be a part of it.
01:23It's a compelling narrative, complex characters, really a bespoke adventure.
01:29Not just a western, but it's a thriller.
01:34It has contemporary pieces, elements to it, something that we haven't seen before.
01:38So we immediately were like, we have to make this about it, we have to make it happen.
01:41He's brilliant to work with.
01:44As a producer, he is someone that gets right in there.
01:50He makes phone calls, he works with us on the script, he reaches out to people,
01:55he helps us with casting, he helps us put all the elements together.
01:59He's 100% a producer.
02:02And then as an actor, as you all know, he's brilliant, he's brilliant to work with.
02:07He makes things very easy on set and he brings his expertise every step of the way.
02:13It's definitely more upscale than what I got in the 1899 version of The Thicket,
02:19but I wanted to lean into the western thing just a little bit.
02:22My name's Slim in the movie, I'm kind of Juliette Lewis' long-time companion.
02:28I don't even know if I'm allowed to swear, but he's a bit soulless.
02:34He's lost faith in people and he's just got an appetite for whatever he can steal or take.
02:42I've been saying all down here, every actor should experience something like that.
02:48She's an absolute tornado on the opposite side of the scene.
02:52I don't know if you've seen the movie, but there's a disciplinary scene that I have with her.
02:57It's never the same twice and she keeps you on your toes.
03:01She's a legend. That was the character of this movie, that was a blessing.
