00:00Mixed fortunes for the weekend weather across the UK. For some it will be sunny
00:04and very warm, others will see outbreaks of rain with torrential downpours
00:09leading to localised flooding. So for Saturday it starts off fine and bright
00:13for Scotland, Northern Ireland, the far north of England. The rest of England as
00:16well as Wales will be mostly cloudy with patchy light rain across parts of Wales
00:20and Midlands, Central and Eastern England. That patchy rain continues into the
00:24afternoon breaking up into showers. Some of them will become heavy and thundery
00:28particularly out towards parts of Wales and Central and Western England where
00:32there is the risk of localised flooding is up to 70 millimetres of rain could
00:36fall within six hours. There will also be another batch of wet weather spreading
00:40into southern counties of England later in the day. It will be a widely warm day
00:44though and feeling pleasant in that sunshine where it will be fine and dry
00:48for Western Scotland and Northern Ireland where locally temperatures could
00:51get up into the mid-twenties. Sunday sees a north-south divide, northern areas
00:56cloudy but mostly dry for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Meanwhile England and
01:00Wales will see low-pressure system moving northwards with widespread spells
01:04of rain and heavy and thundery showers particularly heavy across Wales and
01:07southern parts of England.
