भारतीय पहलवान विनेश फोगाट और बजरंग पुनिया के कांग्रेस में शामिल होने पर पूर्व WFI अध्यक्ष और भाजपा नेता बृजभूषण शरण सिंह ने कहा, "18 जनवरी 2023 में जब जंतर-मंतर पर धरना प्रारंभ हुआ था तो मैंने पहले दिन कहा था कि यह खिलाड़ियों का आंदोलन नहीं है, इसके पीछे कांग्रेस है। विशेषकर भूपेंद्र हुड्डा, प्रियंका गांधी, राहुल गांधी। आज यह बात सच साबित हुई कि इस पूरे आंदोलन में जो हमारे खिलाफ षड्यंत्र के तहत किया गया उसमें कांग्रेस शामिल थी और इसका नेतृत्व भूपेंद्र हुड्डा कर रहे थे।"
