01:55That's when Mina's story in Ring of Honor really began.
02:01Her allegiance with Mariah May reignited.
02:05And then kind of found herself almost as the third wheel
02:08between Mariah and Toni Storm.
02:13A culmination all in, but it is Mina who now finds herself
02:21horns-locked with an international star in her own
02:25right in Taya Valkyrie.
02:29You know, Mina had some great words as she traveled from
02:33Japan to the United States to wrestle for AEW in Ring of
02:37Honor.
02:38She said she doesn't know where her journey will take her with
02:41Mariah, with Toni Storm, but she does know she is ready to
02:46wrestle to compete for championships.
02:50That's one thing we've learned about Mina Shirakawa.
02:52She's shown that no matter what situation you've put her in,
02:55she's able to put herself in the spotlight situation.
02:59Even with that entrance known from Stardom, showing that
03:01heritage and culture that you come from, being able to put
03:05that display with great athleticism and personality,
03:07that's Mina Shirakawa.
03:09And the coat of honor right here, too.
03:11Yeah, that personality does not stop.
03:13When we talk about the heritage, we would be remiss.
03:15Oh, goodness, if we didn't mention the Vancouver Canuck-style
03:18gear of Taya Valkyrie, a proud Western Canadian.

03:25As Taya, big open hand, and of course it was Taya who led the
03:32ambush on Mina Shirakawa, which has led to this match here
03:39Taya herself, man, well-traveled, well-traveled,
03:42well-world-traveled.
03:44A lot of experience, and somebody like Donny T.B.
03:47on the outside has great experience himself.
03:50Well, Taya's been to Japan, been champion in Canada,
03:53Mexico, the United States, you name it.
03:55That's kind of what I mean when I say well-traveled,
03:57but you're exactly right, Ricky Bobby.
03:59This is a great showing.

04:02I spoke way too soon.
04:04The fighting, the open hand.
04:06The only difference with Taya, man, is all this great stuff
04:09that you can put inside this person, but she's also willing
04:12to bend the rules.

04:18And right here, she does not like being outshone.

04:24Mina becoming quite the fan favorite for both her wrestling
04:27and her dancing.

05:08It's whoever can control their breathing, their focus,
05:10their energy.

05:12Well, that's the thing about is that with being a grudge-type
05:15match, Mina is coming in with a great game plan,
05:18a focused great game plan, working on the leg and the knee
05:21of Taya.
05:22Now hitting the head.

05:25Any time you work on somebody's body part, Riccobono,
05:27you get their hands grabbing that body part,
05:29and it always exposes the head.
05:31That's a great call.
05:32The front face lock locked in here.
05:34And you talk to any wrestler, it always feels great when you're
05:37in this grudge situation to land the first shot or your best
05:40shot.
05:41Wow.
05:42But that doesn't always lead you to winning the match.
05:44Strategy and composure does, and that's what we're seeing from
05:46Mina here.
05:47And a little bit of that.

06:47I'll tell you what, Caprice, for someone who is traveling
06:52internationally, like Mina, is flying back and forth in 14-hour
06:55flights.

06:57There might not be a better place than the back of the neck.

07:00You don't know how stiff your neck and your back gets.
07:03Riding on the airplane for so long.
07:06Just enough time to check into the hotel.
07:10Oh, and again, that neck.

07:12And that neck is like a stack of dimes, as you always say,

07:16Very vulnerable, especially after those long flights.
07:20But you saw right there that Valkyrie kicking that leg.

07:34And that's going to continue to give her trouble throughout the
07:35match as those investments from Shirakawa paid off and maybe
07:39slowed down Taya just enough to maybe let Shirakawa find a
07:44window here.
07:45And again, favoring that knee.

07:53Yeah, that knee is giving Valkyrie a lot of trouble right now.
07:56They're going to try and rehab.
07:58But this is not helping the knee.

14:11there was just a little bit less juice on it because throughout the match,
14:14Taya couldn't plant as well as she wanted to,
14:17which led to openings for Mina Shirakawa.
14:20And that investment in the knee paid off.
