00:20The announcement of the 40-year-old politician's candidacy
00:24was made at the launch of Barisan National's election machinery on Saturday.
00:29Johor Menteri Besar, Datuk On Hafiz Ghazi said Syed Hussien is a winnable, likeable
00:36and acceptable candidate.
00:59In this campaign, we want to have 66,000 voters in Makota.
01:12I am confident that with such a large number of voters,
01:16we will be able to go down to Padang and have as many voters as possible in this region.
01:24Syed Hussien said the late Makota Assemblyman had made tremendous contribution
01:29and he hoped to continue her legacy.
01:32Leaders from the coalition were joined by representatives of the Pakatan Harapan Coalition
01:38which formed the unity government together with Barisan National.
01:42The Makota seat became vacant when Datuk Sharifa Aziza Syed Zayin passed away on August 2.
01:49The nomination of the candidates will be held on September 14
01:53and polling will take place on September 28.
