00:08decision to appoint center-right politician Michel Barnier as prime minister.
00:15Left-wing parties are accusing Macron of ignoring the results of the recent legislative elections
00:21after he refused to pick the candidate of the new Popular Front alliance which came
00:26out on top in the July vote.
00:30Barnier has emphasized the importance of health care reform, particularly improving access
00:36to care and addressing the issue of medical deserts in both urban and rural areas.
00:43Protests against what is seen by demonstrators as a presidential power grab were set to take
00:48place in more than 150 cities across France.
00:53The demonstrations were organized by the France Unbowed group as well as several student
00:58unions.
