00:00On Friday, 26-year-old Turkish-American peace activist Ayshanur Ezgi Ege was shot in the
00:06head by Israeli forces after protesting illegal settlement expansion in occupied Beita.
00:12This comes just weeks after Israeli forces shot another American activist, Amado Sison,
00:18at previous protests near Beita.
00:20Despite witnesses saying the shot was taken to kill, the U.S. State Department said they
00:24are gathering more information about her death.
00:28We deplore this tragic loss.
00:31Now, the most important thing to do is to gather the facts, and that's exactly what
00:37we're in the process of doing.
00:39And we are intensely focused on getting those facts.
00:43And any actions that we take are driven by the facts.
00:47So first things first, let's find out exactly what happened.
00:51We have more info.
00:53We'll share it, make it available, and as necessary, we'll act on it.
00:58But if past cases can tell us anything, the wait for answers may be long and unsuccessful.
01:04After the death of Israeli American activist Ayshanur Ege, the U.S. State Department has
