00:00Founder of Christ Marcelline Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Fufayin on Sunday reacted to the
00:05criminal investigation being carried out by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration
00:11and Control, NAVDAC over Miracle Soap and other items he was accused of selling to unsuspecting
00:16members of the public with the claim that the products were registered and approved
00:21by NAVDAC.
00:23Prophet Jeremiah said he never used the name of NAVDAC to deceive any member of the public.
00:28Finding that he was given less than 12 hours to appear before the NAVDAC office in Asaba
00:33and as a result of the short notice, he wrote to the Regulatory Agency twice to make his
00:38position known to them on the issues.
00:42According to Vanguard newspaper, Prophet Fufayin spoke through his church's media outfit called
00:47Marcelline Television Deliverance Ministry, which issued a statement signed by Sophia
00:52Elloyd, faulting a media report by one of the National Daily's online, with caption,
00:58NAVDAC investigating Pastor Jeremiah Miracle Water, Soap DG, pointing out that the publication
01:04was false.
01:05According to the statement, Christ Marcelline Deliverance Ministry is a law-abiding Christian
01:11church and recognizes the extant laws of the land and even the NAVDAC Act in this regard.
01:17And as a Christian association, we are guided by Section 39 and 38 of the Constitution of
01:23the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that guarantees all Christians and our church the right to
01:28freedom of religion without interference whatsoever in this regard.
01:32It is equal to that, as a church we have been operated and guided by the tenets of our faith
01:38and biblical injunctions in the Holy Bible in this regard.
01:42We have been using certain spiritual items in expression of our religious beliefs.
01:48The statement also asserted that the newspaper via online publication, in the course of their
01:54story also stated and alleged that NAVDAC wishes to alert the general public on the
01:59activities of the church and the church uses NAVDAC name to deceive unsuspecting public.
02:05We wish to state that at no point our church has ever deceived or dishonestly deceived
02:10any members of the general public.
02:12All the church has done in the entirety of this issue is the church right to expression
02:16of religion through the use of spiritual items.
02:19The church has never even produced or sold to members of the public consumable items
02:24in this regard.
02:26We also wish to state that Senior Prophet Jeremiah Fufayin of Christ Muslim Ministry
02:31has never used the NAVDAC name as an agency to deceive innocent members of the public.
02:37However, as part of putting the record straight as rebuttal of the online news publication,
02:44the statement pointed, we wish to state that Christ Muslim Deliverance Ministry was fully
02:49aware that the only pending petition against our church is the one by Mr. Martins Vincent
02:53O'Shea, alias Vereda Blackman, who the church has since sued before the FCT High Court on
02:59summary allegations and matters.
03:01However, the church was in receipt of a letter dated the 27th of August 2024 from NAVDAC
03:08office extending an invitation to the spiritual health of the Church of the Church Miracle
03:13and Healing Spiritual Item by the NAVDAC Asaba Office with the full designation as referenced
03:19in this letter.
03:20It's quite unfortunate that as a law-abiding organization, we did officially as an organization
03:26wrote to NAVDAC Headquarters Office, Abuja on the short less than 12-hour time frame
03:31given to us to appear and buy an official letter communicated our position in this matter
03:36to NAVDAC and then also sent another subsequent letter to NAVDAC.
03:41We also bring to the fore and knowledge of NAVDAC that the supposed nominal complainant
03:46to NAVDAC Asaba Office actually forged the church's receipts in order to close himself
03:51with the right to bring a complaint before the NAVDAC Office in this.
03:55Regard, we also wish to state that presently there is an ongoing police investigation of
04:01certain receipts that has indicted the nominal complainant to NAVDAC Office, which same receipts
04:07is presumed to have been forged and used falsely in procuring the now investigated spiritual
04:12items by NAVDAC Office.
04:15Also it should be noted that the alleged spiritual items serves receipts of the nominal complainant
04:20to NAVDAC in which he purportedly alleged to have used in evidencing a case in NAVDAC
04:25Office.
04:26A look at same revealed that the position of the spiritual items receipt number are
04:30the same but different in other particulars with that normally issued by the church accounting
04:35office in the sense that vis-a-vis.
04:38That the nominal complainant's receipts are different from the position in the actual
04:42receipt booklet and receipts in the custody of the church.
04:46The dates on the receipts are clearly and obviously altered different from church client
04:51official receipts.
04:53All these issues and narratives are stated above.
04:56The church wrote to the NAVDAC Office and we clearly wish to state that NAVDAC till
05:00today never wrote to the church or gave feedback on these issues to the church or a legal representative.
05:07The church media stated.
05:09We had reported that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control,
05:15NAVDAC on Sunday said it has begun investigation into alleged act of criminality against Prophet
05:20Jeremiah Umoto for fail of Christ Muslim Deliverance Ministry, CMDM Oversoap and other
05:26Miracle products sold to unsuspecting members of the public, claiming the products were
05:31registered and approved by NAVDAC.
05:34NAVDAC in a statement said the church is currently not cooperating with them in the course of
05:38their investigation.
05:39According to the regulatory body, the church has failed to honor their invitation but decided
05:46to issue a legal document claiming the got the NAVDAC approval indirectly from another
05:51business the church is into partnership with.
05:54NAVDAC in the statement warned the general public to stop buying the products, saying
06:00it never registered the products.
06:03The products listed include Miracle and Healing Water, River Jordan Water, and the Miracle
06:09Water from the Pool of Bethsaida.
06:12This was contained in a statement by the agency's resident media consultant, Oluseyo
06:17Akintola, in Abuja on Sunday.
06:21According to Akintola, Umoto is operating with Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries,
06:26KM5, Erfurun, Sapele Road, Delta State.
06:31He said that the suspect was selling Miracle Water, Miracle Soap, and other unregistered
06:37products to unsuspected Nigerians, claiming that they were all NAVDAC approved.
06:43He said that NAVDAC got the heal through a series of petitions from concerned citizens
06:48about Umoto.
06:50He said that the Miracle Water and Soap were advertised to have healing capacity and NAVDAC
06:56certification.
06:57The suspect showcased the use of the Miracle Water and Miracle Soap on social media.
07:03He claimed that they had the capacity to heal baroness and that women who used both
07:08products would be pregnant with twins.
07:11He openly told his congregation that the soap is NAVDAC registered, which attracted the
07:16public to begin to make efforts to verify the claim, he said.
07:21Akintola said that petitioners also submitted some of the products from the church to NAVDAC
07:26for verification.
07:28He listed the products to include Miracle and Healing Water, River Jordan Water, and
07:34the Miracle Water from the Pool of Bethsaida.
07:37Others are a new beginning Mountain Camel Miracle Water, Water of Life Miracle Water
07:42from the Pool of Bethsaida and Father Smelled Perfume.
07:46He said that upon receipt of the petitions, NAVDAC, through its Director of Post-Marketing
07:52Surveillance, PMS, contacted the Delta State Coordinator to verify the existence of the
07:58church.
08:00The State Coordinator was also directed to take necessary regulatory action on the production
08:05facility in the church where the Miracle Water and other products were produced.
08:11He covertly bought the Miracle Water, 25cl, for 3,000 Naira from the church and took pictures
08:18of other products, he said.
08:21The NAVDAC Media Consultant said that on visiting the church, subsequently, the team met the
08:27Head of Service, H.O.S. Ogunleye Fufeyi, and the Chief Security Officer, C.S.O.
08:35He said that officials of the church denied producing Miracle and Healing Water or so,
08:40even with the evidence of the receipt of purchase.
08:44On August 27th, a team of investigators and enforcement team of NAVDAC, along with a federal
08:51task force on counterfeit and unwholesome foods, visited the church to commence an investigation.
08:58Officials of the church did not cooperate with the team, which prompted the issuing
09:02of a letter of invitation for them to report at the NAVDAC office in Acehba for further
09:08investigation, but it was not honoured.
09:11Instead of honouring the invitation, they submitted a legal document at NAVDAC headquarters
09:17in Abuja on August 28th, he said.
09:21Akintola said that a document made available to NAVDAC on September 3, 2024, claimed that
09:27the church entered a production agreement with One Global Table Water without the knowledge
09:32of NAVDAC.
09:34He said that the act was illegal according to the extant rules and regulations on commercial
09:39production.
09:41He said that the NAVDAC investigation and enforcement team had sold Global Table Water.
09:47He said that the factory was sued for adding and omitting the production, sale, and advertisement
09:53of unregistered and unwholesome Miracle Water would affect NAVDAC registration lumba.
09:59NAVDAC wishes to inform the public that none of those products being advertised and sold
10:04are registered with NAVDAC.
10:07The public is also advised to stop patronizing any of those products.
10:12NAVDAC is a scientific organization that is guided by verifiable facts before registering
10:18any product.
10:19In the meantime, we will continue with our investigation into the activities of this
10:24first organization, he said.
10:27We had in the month of August reported that High Court sitting in Abuja has adjourned
10:32until September this month for Martins Vincent Ocher aka Veridagman who identified himself
10:37as online police and Prophet Jeremiah Umoto-Fufain of Christ Muslim Deliverance Ministry.
10:43CMDM to begin legal argument over a soap said to be approved by National Agency for Food
10:49and Drug Administration and Control, NAVDAC which allegedly has the efficacy to kill people's
10:54suffering.
10:56On June 20, 2024, Prophet Jeremiah in a video comment on his verified Instagram page discussed
11:03the importance of a soap he described as a miracle soap.
11:07The Prophet spoke in a logical manner while advertising the soap and as at August 20,
11:132024 when we downloaded the video, some parts of the video has poor sound quality, preventing
11:19us from getting some other statements he made in the video.
11:23Some parts the video has good sound quality, Prophet Jeremiah talked about the importance
11:29of the soap and mentioned suffering, failure, disappointment and how the soap can be used
11:35to wash off body odor with prayers to God Almighty from him.
11:39On July 17, 2024, Veridagman in a video commentary on his verified Instagram page, played a video
11:47from his mobile phone, in which, Prophet Jeremiah said the miracle soap has NAVDAC number, adding,
11:55he wondered why people are suffering.
11:57According to the Prophet in the video, the soap is manufactured by a company but he needs
12:03to pray for the soap to work its wonders with the user having faith.
12:07Veridagman reacted and some parts of what he said reads thus, NAVDAC, I will come to
12:13your office later to drop a petition, you must tell us the ingredients they use in.
12:19Making soap that kills suffering since he is saying you approved it.
12:24As a pastor that claimed God called him, you are selling powers that God gave you for free
12:29to your members.
12:31NAVDAC prepare you, since you all were not, to be part of yayay things.
12:37Veridagman on August 9, 2024 posted a video and said, last one before we go caught.
12:44Person sue me 1 billion, who, NA say make I no gather evidence, NA so, who, NA they
12:52do for here.
12:53Anything you buy you no need faith, if I buy Panadol, do I need faith for it to kill headache?
13:00So why I go need faith for miracle water when I use money buy?
13:05Upon all you no get NAVDAC.
13:08In another video post, Veridagman said, so, based on caught, I can't talk about Pastor
13:15Jeremiah anymore.
13:17And now to NAVDAC, I am giving you guys 2 days to put up a disclaimer on this home soap
13:23saga or else we will all swim inside the poto poto of disgrace.
13:28NAVDAC do the needful, it is our country, we should all sink what is good for our people.
13:34Now all eyes on NAVDAC, let's see if they are truly doing their jobs to protect citizens
13:40from unregistered products that might be harmful to Nigerians or maybe it is by connection.
13:46Latest development, the founder of Christ Muslim Deliverance Ministry, CMDM Prophet
13:53Jeremiah announced that his spiritual products, including, Pool of Bethesda Water and Red
13:59Sea Water, will not be sold anymore.
14:03The prophet cancelled the sales of the products after weeks of public scrutiny and pressure
14:08from social media user, Veridagman who continued to do videos of buying the products and testing
14:14the products on people who have health challenges.
14:17In numbers of videos, he questioned the legality and regulatory approval of selling the spiritual
14:23products which include Miracle Water, Perfume, Spiritual Shirt, Soap, Mustard Seed and One
14:30Shot Oil.
14:32Veridagman in some of the videos he posted after he was served a lawsuit of 1 billion
14:37Naira went an extra step of testing the products on a large group of disabled individuals but
14:43no results were observed.
14:45In the prophet's defense on Sunday, he stated that the products would not be effective unless
14:51supported by a genuine love for him according to premium times.
14:56During the church's August break program 2024 titled, Break the Limit, on day one,
15:03the prophet reversed his stance stating that anyone selling his spiritual products would
15:09be cursed.
15:10He said, I want to make it clear to you all tonight.
15:15The spiritual items are not for sale.
15:18Anybody out there selling these spiritual items to you, I will lay a curse on them because
15:23it's not for sale.
15:25Adding, users must register at CMDM to receive the spiritual items for free, which will be
15:32prayed over, stressing that proper guidance will be put in place to prevent chaos.
15:38You, users, have to go and register on the mountain, CMDM, then they, those in charge
15:44of the products, will give it to you for free.
15:48They will pray on it on the mountain, and then I, Fufi, your prophet, will tell you
15:53how to use it.
15:55You will be surprised because you are not here to test.
15:59You already believe.
16:01Don't test it.
16:02My prayer is to believe.
16:04Don't test why we register because we want to control the crowd.
16:09Something that has no instructions or guidance is useless.
16:13We can tell everybody to rush and take the spiritual items, but no, a stampede will occur.
16:20That's why we have to guide you people to receive the blessings, and anybody out there
16:25selling them will receive a curse from me.
16:28In response, Veridakman said, I went on his page, and now, he says he is giving it for
16:35free.
16:36Papa, Prophet Fufi, even if you provide it for free, you still have to have another number,
16:43which you must provide.
16:45Veridakman, while speaking, compared the sale of the products to Valuaget, a private Nigerian
16:52airline, highlighting that despite having fewer passengers than Fufi's congregation,
16:58Valuaget ensures their free water is appropriately regulated.
17:04He said, yesterday when I came from Abuja to Lagos, I used Valuaget.
17:10They don't sell products.
17:12They only give water to people inside the plane, and Valuaget water still has enough
17:17that number.
17:18Let alone you, Fufi, who has plenty of people sitting in your church.
17:24You must have enough that number before you put out anything people take into their bodies
17:29or use on their scale.
17:31It's a must.
17:32Although the prophet announced removing certain products from his church's offerings, Veridakman
17:38some questionable items are still on the website.
17:42He said, you, Fufi, said you don't sell anything anymore.
17:47But what is this?
17:48Cash flow ATM card.
17:51EFCC should take up this case.
17:54Is it going to put cash in your account without you working?
17:58Is it that when you buy this ATM card, you slot it in, and it starts dispensing cash?
18:05I see this as fraud.
18:07Veridakman had also criticized the sales of the, I must carry my Samuel apple, priced
18:13at $12, approximately 20,000 nairas.
18:17He questioned the rationale behind such exorbitant prices for what is marketed as a spiritually
18:23enhanced fruit.
18:25Is it that when you eat this apple, you get pregnant and start having Samuels?
18:31No matter how spiritual this is, it's too much for an apple.
18:35The self-acclaimed online police said that the handkerchiefs priced at $2, 3,200 nairas
18:43are still available, raising further concerns about monetization within the church.
18:49Adding that he would file a case with the Nigeria Police Force, National Cybercrime
18:54Center, NPFNCCC.
18:58Every product you produce must have enough that number.
19:01It's not about a miracle or no miracle.
19:04I'll write a letter to the NPFNCCC.
19:08Premium Times stated that the controversy is not new for Prophet Kufayil, who has been
19:14selling and advertising faith-based products like the red seawater since 2019.
19:21Checks on the church's website show that the spiritual products were also sold to people
19:27in South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
19:32His spiritual items have long been promoted as possessing miraculous powers, but the recent
19:38backlash, spearheaded by VDM, intensified scrutiny.
19:43The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the lawsuit between the social media user,
19:49Veridakman and Prophet Jeremiah Kufayil of the Deliverance Mercyland International Ministry,
19:54Wari, Delta State.
19:56TVC News, in a report on Saturday, said Justice Owusu Iheme, who presided over the case, adjourned
20:04it to the 6th of September for a hearing.
20:08The adjournment followed Mr. Kufayil's counsel, Ihesekean Samuel, who prayed the court for
20:14an adjournment, saying he was just served with the defendant's counterclaim.
20:19It was gathered that Justice Iheme further ordered Veridakman and Mr. Kufayil to maintain
20:24the status quo.
20:26The status quo injunction was issued to preserve the current state of affairs while the case
20:31progresses.
20:33TVC reported that Justice Iheme restrained Veridakman from derogatory remarks about Mr.
20:39Kufayil until the latter's injunction motion was heard.
20:42Mr. Kufayil requested a court order compelling Veridakman to retract the Libelous Publications
20:48of the 17th of July and any other defamatory content.
20:53Prophet Jeremiah sought a court order mandating Veridakman to publish an unconditional apology
20:58in at least three national newspapers within seven days of the judgment.
21:03Veridakman and Prophet Jeremiah's attorneys expressed their views on the court's legal
21:08determination.
21:10The Prophet's lawyers said, even when there was a false order for status quo, he kept
21:16coming before the social media just to harass, to defend continuously and to drag continuously
21:22and that the court ordered for status quo and restated it.
21:26So the defendant is running the risk of contempt proceedings and the committal too.
21:31Prison, Veridakman attorney, Ademona Adedukum, said, Martin's Vincent O'Shea, who is counterclaiming
21:392.2 billion nairas in damages for breach of contract and deceit, also has a pending interlocutory
21:46application to also stop the Prophet Jeremiah Fufil and his church, Christ Mercy Land Deliverance
21:52Ministry, from selling any regulated products without filing the proof of certification
21:57or registration of such products.
22:00On Sunday, a video statement signed by Sophia Lloyd and posted on the Prophet's Instagram
22:06page said that the church's legal team had been instructed to take action against Veridakman
22:13for false allegation.
22:15According to the statement, Veridakman claimed in a recent video that the church had removed
22:21all approved spiritual items from its official website.
22:25The church dismissed these allegations as unfounded lies and cheap propaganda, emphasizing
22:31that the video was a deliberate attempt to damage the reputation of the general overseer
22:36and the church as a whole.
22:38The statement read, The management of Mercy Television has hearing by this press statement
22:43refuting claims made by an online critic, Mr. Martins Vincent O'Shea, popularly known
22:49as Veridakman.
22:51In one of his recent video publications, O'Shea alleged that the church, under the leadership
22:56of Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufil, had removed all approved spiritual items from
23:01its official website.
23:03In a strong rebuttal, the management of Mercy Television labeled O'Shea's claims as
23:09unfounded lies and cheap propaganda.
23:13Church stated further that the video publication was a deliberate attempt to defame their general
23:18overseer and tarnish the church's reputation.
23:22The church clarified that O'Shea is not an official representative of Mercy Television
23:27or the church and has no authority to speak or act on their behalf.
23:32The management also reminded the public that all official information about the church
23:36will be communicated solely through its verified channels and urged the public to exercise
23:41caution and discernment when engaging with any further content from O'Shea.
23:46Mercy Television distanced itself from any liability or responsibility for O'Shea as
23:53actions, statements, or publications, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and the truth.
24:00Veridakman had vowed to bring 800 deaf, 700 blind, and 36 infertile women to court to
24:08challenge the Prophet to demonstrate the efficacy of his miracle products publicly.
24:14Veridakman demanded the demonstration take place in front of a judge.
24:18The social media popular user pursued his challenge by purchasing Prophet Fufil's
24:23miracle products.
24:25He experimented with the products at an undisclosed disability home in Abuja,
24:31housing approximately 1,500 residents.
24:35Veridakman documented the process in a video, showing individuals with disabilities using
24:40the products without apparent miraculous effects.
24:44However, Mr. Fufil addressed his congregation during a live Sunday service and said that
24:50his spiritual products might not work for everyone except those who love him.
