00:00Here in victory lane in Atlanta motor speedway with the driver of the number 22 for team
00:03Penske Joey Logano.
00:04The last time we saw you in victory lane was Nashville, but you guys open this playoffs
00:09with a win.
00:11Can you walk me through your final two laps?
00:13Yeah, it was obviously pretty intense there.
00:16I felt like we were in a pretty good spot before the last caution and then the caution
00:20came out and obviously green white checker.
00:22I felt good having Blaney behind me.
00:24You know, it's kind of the way you would draw it up is have your teammate back there and
00:27we've worked really well together in the past.
00:30You know, we've been teammates for a long time now, so we've gone through a lot of different
00:33scenarios together and experienced a lot of different things, good and bad that we've
00:36done.
00:37And I feel like we've communicated really well to where we can grow that relationship
00:40and you know, ultimately be able to get the push that I needed.
00:44And then when in here in Atlanta, it's so special.
00:47This track is so many memories sitting where we are as a kid racing legends cars and with
00:53your parents.
00:54I mean, I lived right over here, woke up every morning to looking at this racetrack
00:59thinking how cool to be to be out there and ultimately being able to be in victory lane
01:02is so neat.
01:03Even my spider Coleman and I, we raced each other as kids right over here and now he's
01:08spot for us and we're in victory lane together.
01:10Pretty neat.
01:11Well, we'll see Watkins Glen and Bristol following that.
01:14But you entered today ninth in playoff standings and only two points above the elimination
01:18line.
01:19It doesn't matter now.
01:20But as a driver, how do you want to attack the next two weeks?
01:23The only thing that matters now is playoff points.
01:24So when or stage win is all that matters for two weeks.
01:27So it's nice to be able to do that.
01:29It kind of keeps your batteries charged up, you know, it's a long 10 weeks.
01:33It's pretty grueling and stressful.
01:34So anytime you can not relax, but at least not have that added pressure where you're
01:40trying to count points while the race is going, right?
01:42Because that's what you do.
01:44You can't help.
01:45They say not to do that.
01:46But I tell you what, it's hard to not do that when you kind of have an idea of what's going
01:49on.
01:51Yeah, proud of the race team to be able to do that and execute.
01:53These guys are our true champions.
01:55We've done it before.
01:57And after last year, this point in the playoffs, we didn't make it to the first round last
02:02year.
02:03So they still have to click off at least one round so far.
02:05We saw what you and Paul Wolf can accomplish when you're given two weeks of prep.
02:08Are you already looking ahead to that next round or is the focus on Watkins Glen?
02:13You're asking me like 30 minutes after the race.
02:15So we haven't.
02:17Now, we're we're going to look a couple of weeks ahead, but but we still want to keep
02:23the momentum going.
02:25And there still is playoff points to grab.
02:27So it's not like winning the first race in the round of eight when you know you're in
02:31a championship four and you just don't care about two races.
02:33There's still a lot to race for, just like the regular season.
02:37There's a lot to race for in the next two races for us.
02:39I'll ask him the next round.
02:41But 30 minutes later, Joey Logano, a winner at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
