What if one of these kids was the next sustainability innovators?
Transcript
00:00These kids might look like they're just playing with Legos, and they are.
00:07But they're also learning.
00:08This video was captured at the first Lego League Discover, a building competition meant
00:12to teach kids about renewable energy.
00:14This is Ayman Al-Khabani, the event's organizer.
00:16He says this year the focus was all about sustainability, instilling those values in
00:20kids through competition, adding quote, they are fully aware of the sources of energy,
00:24how to save and distribute energy, and how to transport it.
00:27It is enough for us that they managed to learn these concepts, in addition to learning
00:31skills like teamwork, getting information, and problem solving.
00:34The competition involved 400 kids broken into teams of five, working together to find solutions
00:39to modern day, real world problems, in a kid-friendly way.
00:42And the parents seem to agree, with one saying children need to know more about renewable
00:45energy, and this might just put them on track to change the future, perhaps even inspiring
00:50the next generation, who might just come up with a solution to our sustainability problem.
