01:03So would you please, give me the fantastic official opening from
01:09the Local MP. Fantastic. Here we go. Here's our Local MP.
01:18Swimmer, come and join us on stage with your beautiful guide dog.
01:23Fabulous, okay.
01:24Happy Pride everyone. My name is Swithin, I'm a local councillor, I'm just the quick
01:30support act for Steve Darling, the MP. I just wanted to say, introduce myself, I'm a councillor
01:38on Torbay Council and I'm pleased to say that the Pride flag is flying from the Town Hall
01:43today so that's really good news. And it's such a lovely atmosphere here today and that
01:51contrasts with the homophobia and the anti-trans stuff that we're all having to compete with
01:57at the moment which is why Pride is so needed and why it's so important for us today and
02:03it's such a lovely inclusive event that we've got here today. The final thing I want to
02:07say is that before July we had an MP who didn't want to engage with Torbay Pride or take part
02:15but that's all changed and we now have a Steve Darling MP who was on the march last
02:21year and he's been on the march this year and he's brought the real support act today
02:26which is the guide dog Jenny. So please give it up for Steve, thank you.
02:32Thank you and it is a pleasure and a delight of mine to be here as the local MP for Torbay
02:40at this Pride event. Pride is all about inclusion and celebrating difference and saying that
02:47we are stronger as a community when we celebrate difference rather than living in a world of
02:53fear. I think politics is often in two different camps, there's some politicians who live by
03:01having stoking fear, there are other politicians who live by believing in hope and I think
03:08it's so important that we as a community dare to dream for our future and have that
03:15positive approach. For my sins I've served the people of Torbay both as MP and as a councillor
03:21for more than 30 years and it isn't that long ago that there were questions being raised
03:28as to whether it's appropriate for people who are gay to adopt or even act as foster
03:34carers which is just absolute madness. That's why as somebody who's adopted myself I'm so
03:40pleased that we've got the foster carers here today showing that we are inclusive and for
03:47me all that I think is left to say is thank you for the organisers of our event, it's
03:53made a massive difference, it helps the rich tapestry of what Torbay should all be about
04:01is this Pride event and have fun. So thank you Torbay.
04:05Torbay one more time as they make their way down on stage please give it up for our official
04:12opening speech there from our local MPs. Absolutely incredible as you said lots of important messages
04:18throughout that speech and absolutely we stand by all of them here as a community in fantastic
04:24Torbay Pride. Well should we continue the party? Should we continue having a sing-song?
04:33Because let me tell you something here today we have a whole host of live entertainment
04:37coming your way. Give me a cheer if you like music from the 80s. Give me a cheer if you
04:44like music right up to modern day. Well you're in the right place at the right time. Oh look
04:49at you looking ever so glamorous. Are you going to do something for us now? I'm going
04:54to give us a quick number but it's a bit old school. Do we like a bit of old school everybody?
05:00We're going 60s with this one but you'll all know it. Oh I like a bit of 60s because that's
05:05when the you know the swing in 60s happened. Should we go for it? I mean I'm too young to
05:10remember but all right liar liar.
05:40Not push. They call it not pushing limits. Not pushing. 25 mile speed limit. Motorcycle not allowed in. Go to school on Friday. Go to church on Sunday.
06:00They call it not push. Not push. They call it not pushing limits. Not pushing. Not pushing limits. You know this one.
06:18Oh my God.
06:48I would do the dip thing but me hair won't come off.
07:18Keep on burning. Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river. Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river.
07:38If you come down to the river, I guess you're gonna find some people who live there.
07:43You don't have to worry if you got no money. People on the river are happy to give.
07:48Fish will keep on turning. Strawberry keep on burning. Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river.
07:59Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river. Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river.
08:29Rolling, rolling, rolling on the river.
08:40Normally the only thing my Fitbit records is the sausage roll go from plate to mouth.
08:48You all right there dear?
08:53Did you have the wrong button dear? It's all right. I'm on number two darling.
08:57Did you say you do exercise? No. No, I didn't think so.
09:01Is it raining out there yet? Are you bothered? No, neither am I. I'm just worried about my
09:07air falling. So I put my umbrella up. Do I look nice with an umbrella? Right then. What we doing
09:13now? I know you can look better. Step forward. Turn to the front again. Turn to the front. Here
09:18we go. There we are. Rude. I'm singing in the rain. No, we can't do that. What are we doing
09:27love? What are you going to sing next? Well, I was thinking we could do a bit of glee. A what?
09:31A bit of glee. Oh, I love a bit of glee. Could get them singing you along because they're all
09:34a bit miserable at the moment. Then again, it is raining. Do you want to do a bit of a sing-along?
09:39Right, I need as many people to come closer. Get closer. Can we put some nicotine in the
09:44smoke machine as well? There's children out there. We can't do that love. It won't get to
09:48them. I'll just stand over it. Anyway, shall we? Shall we get on with it? Shall we have a little
09:52sing-song? Shall we have a little sing-song? We've got coming up for you. We've got amazing
09:56coming up, babes. We've got coming up for you. You've got to have faith. Tribute to George
10:01Michael. Yes. Yes. I love a bit of George Michael. But before we do that, shall we? Shall we please
10:08have a bit of glee? Go on then. Come on then. All right then. Oh, it's proper glee this.
10:14That lady over there just needed to go and change her knickers. She got that excited, obviously.
10:18Just a small town girl living in a lonely world. She took a midnight train going anywhere.
10:39Just a city boy born and raised in South Detroit. Let us hear you sing.
10:50She took a midnight train going anywhere. Fabulous. Everybody, we want to hear you sing it all this
11:01afternoon. Can you do that? Whatever she's taken, I'll have a tablet.
11:13A singer in a smoky room. I smell wine and gin perfume. For a smile they can chill the night.
11:23It goes on and on and on. Hey, come on. Streetlights, wait. Up and down the promenade.
11:35There's shadows searching in the night. Streetlights, people. Maybe just to find emotion.
11:51Hiding somewhere in the night.
12:00Right, we're getting close to the chorus, everybody. We want you to sing it out loud. You ready?
12:07Working hard to get my thrill. Cause everybody wants a thrill.
12:14Anything to roll the dice. Just one more time. Some will win, some will lose.
12:26And some of us sing the blues of a movie never ending. It goes on and on and on and on.
12:37Check out that bright flame filter. Beautiful. Up and down the promenade. There's shadows searching in the night.
12:51Streetlights, people. Maybe just to find emotion. Hiding somewhere in the night.
13:08Alright, we are so close. We are so close to the chorus. If you don't know the words, it's
13:18Don't Stop Believin'. You ready? Here we go.
13:24Don't stop believin'. Yes. Let's hold on to that feeling. Streetlights, people.
13:39Don't stop believin'. Come on. Let's hold on to that feeling. Streetlights, people.
13:54Put your hands in the air. Scream. Come on. Party, party like you just don't care.
14:10Here we go. Here we go.
14:17I got my first real six string. Bought it at the five am time. Played it till my fingers bled.
14:27It was the summer of 69. Hey! Me and some guys from school. Had a band and we tried real hard.
14:37Jimmy Quid and Jodie Convery. Should've known we'd never get far. Oh, but we're holding back now.
14:48How the straw machine will last forever. And if I had the chance. I knew that we would last forever.
14:59Those were the best days of our life. Let me hear you sing.
15:03Let me hear you sing. Where was it? Back in the summer of. Hey, hey, hey.
15:11Ooh, oh, yeah. Wave your hands up in the air. Come on. Oh, yeah. Back in the summer of 69.
15:25Ooh, oh, yeah.
15:30Ain't no use complaining. When we got a job to do. Spend my evenings down at the drive-in.
15:40Hell, that's when I met you. Standing on your mama's porch. You told me that you'll wait forever.
15:50And if I held your hand. I knew that it would last forever.
15:57Those were the best days of my life. Let me hear you sing. Come on.
16:04Where was it? Back in the summer of 69. Hey, hey, hey. Ooh, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Sing. Oh, yeah.
16:14Ooh, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ooh, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ooh, oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Ooh, oh, yeah. Ooh, oh, yeah.
16:19Fabulous.
16:22Man, we were killing time. We were young and restless. We needed true moments.
16:29I guess nothing could last forever. Forever.
16:35Tommy, we are almost there for our first live act. Who's ready to party?
16:40Come on. I want to see you wave your hands up in the air.
16:45Where was it? Back in the summer of 69. Ooh, oh, yeah. Back in the summer of 69. Ooh, oh, yeah.

17:37Because the only... I don't have makeup with me. I have Dulux Tester Pots. Fabulous.
17:43Or I do that... Do you know that thing? I think Ada HD, who does Drag Queen Storytime, she does it with tinfoil.
17:49You squirt the makeup in and you just go... Beautiful. And you're done.
17:53Absolutely. Roberta does that, I think. I know she's here tomorrow. I can't wait. Anyway, now then,
17:57shall we do one all together? I'm not sure. What time are we on? What time? If we have time.
18:03We've got four minutes. Let me just check. Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it. Hit play.
18:07We're going to do a bit of this one. It goes... It's a bit of human. Are you ready? Come on.
18:11Come and dance with me. Here we go.
18:15I did my best to notice when the call came down the line.
18:22Onto the platform of surrender. And I was bought and I was kind.
18:29And sometimes I get nervous when I see an open door.
18:35So close your eyes and clear your heart. Come on then, Tobi.
18:42Sugar, the call. Are we what? Are we? Or what? Or are we dancers?
18:50My side is vital. My hands are cold. And I'm on my knees, looking for the answer.
19:04It's are we human? Or what? Or are we? Okay, come on, let's have a party.
19:14We're almost there, everybody.
19:20Hey, pay my respects to grace and virtue. Send my condolences to good.
19:33Give my regards to soul and romance. They always did the best they could.
19:40And so long to devotion. You taught me everything I knew.
19:46So wave goodbye and wish me well. Come on then, Tobi. Let me hear you sing.
19:53You gotta let me know. Are you what? Are you? Or what? Or are we? Yes.
20:02My side is vital. My hands are cold. And I'm on my knees, looking for the answer.

20:22Will your sister be alright? For when you dream at home tonight?
20:29For there's no message we're receiving. Let me know. Is your heart still beating?
20:37Are we human? Or what? Or are we? Yes.
20:45My side is vital. My hands are cold. And I'm on my knees, looking for the answer.
20:56Look at the VIPs over there. Hello. Fabulous. Come on then.
21:02You gotta let me know. Are we human? Or what? Or are we? Yes.
