00:04:19Today, we're building on the advanced technologies pioneered with Apple Watch to make it even more useful, essential and intelligent.

00:04:58Introducing Apple Watch Series 10 with our biggest display and thinnest design ever.

00:05:43Apple Watch is an indispensable companion, and the display is central to everything you do with it,
00:05:50from discreetly checking the time to scanning a notification to a quick glance at your workout metrics,
00:05:56how easily you can read the screen is crucial.
00:06:00That's why for Series 10, we developed the largest and most advanced display ever for Apple Watch.
00:06:08It's the biggest wearable display we've ever built, even slightly bigger than Apple Watch Ultra.
00:06:13And compared to previous generations, it has up to 30% more screen area.
00:06:20With a larger screen, you can increase the font size without sacrificing content.
00:06:25And you can see an additional line of text and apps like messages, mail or news.
00:06:30It also makes it easier to type a message, enter your passcode or pause your workout.
00:06:36Both the display and the case have more rounded corners and a wider aspect ratio,
00:06:42which makes Series 10 appear softer, sleeker and more streamlined.
00:06:46The front crystal of Series 10 is made of durable ionics glass and extends further down the sides of the case,
00:06:53creating an expansive top view.
00:06:57Under the front crystal is Apple's first ever wide-angle OLED display.
00:07:03Each pixel has been optimized to emit more light at wider angles.
00:07:09Often, you look at your watch from an angle, like while you're walking,
00:07:13typing on a keyboard or when your hand is resting in your lap.
00:07:16So we made the display on Series 10 up to 40% brighter when viewed from an angle,
00:07:23which improves visibility and makes it easier to read your watch with a quick glance.
00:07:28We also developed wide-angle OLEDs to be extremely power efficient,
00:07:33which allows the display to update once a second in always-on mode instead of just once a minute.
00:07:39Now, a ticking second's hand is visible even when your wrist is down.
00:07:44It makes Series 10 feel more alive all of the time.
00:07:48You can see the effect on Flux, a bold new watch face that takes full advantage of the large display,
00:07:55filling the screen with color second by second.
00:07:58It was designed to complement Series 10's new aluminum finishes, starting with Jet Black.
00:08:05It's our first-ever polished aluminum finish for Apple Watch.
00:08:10This deep, glossy black was developed specifically for Series 10.
00:08:15The case is made from our durable aluminum alloy and polished using silica nanoparticles
00:08:21until the surface achieves a reflective shine.
00:08:25Then, it goes through a 30-step anodization process,
00:08:30which bonds organic dye to the housing at a molecular level.
00:08:35Joining Jet Black is a beautiful, warm rose gold, along with our ever-popular silver aluminum.
00:08:42The comfort of Apple Watch is so important because you wear it day and night.
00:08:48For anything you wear continuously, comfort is a function of size, shape, and weight.
00:08:54And on your wrist, every millimeter and every gram matters.
00:08:59That's why we pushed the limits of technology to make Series 10 the thinnest Apple Watch ever.
00:09:05At just 9.7 millimeters, it's nearly 10% thinner than Series 9,
00:09:11a significant reduction considering how compact Apple Watch already is.
00:09:15Achieving this radically thinner profile required further miniaturization of several already tiny internal modules,
00:09:22like the SIP, digital crown, and speaker.
00:09:26The speaker system was completely re-engineered to be 30% smaller without any compromise to acoustic performance.
00:09:34And for the first time on Apple Watch, you can play media like music or podcasts directly through the speaker.

00:09:44Also contributing to Series 10's thinner design is an innovative metal back
00:09:50that fully integrates the antenna into the housing itself, combining two layers into one.
00:09:56A thin isolation split encircles the metal back for great cellular performance.
00:10:02And it's bonded to a watertight layer that maintains 50-meter water resistance, so you can still shower, swim, and surf.
00:10:10The new metal back also accommodates a larger and more efficient charging coil,
00:10:15making Series 10 the fastest charging Apple Watch ever.
00:10:19In just 30 minutes, you can get up to 80% battery,
00:10:24making it easier to charge your watch whenever it fits into your day.
00:10:28The smaller speaker, metal back, and other innovations make Series 10 not only thinner, but also lighter-weight.
00:10:37Aluminum cases weigh up to 10% less than the previous generation.
00:10:42And we're introducing another lightweight material in a gorgeous new finish, polished titanium.

00:15:04If left untreated, sleep apnea can also have significant consequences on your health,
00:15:09including increased risk of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and cardiac issues.
00:15:14But one of the biggest challenges is that 80% of people with sleep apnea are undiagnosed,
00:15:20so they don't know they have the condition.
00:15:23To detect sleep apnea, Apple Watch uses the accelerometer
00:15:26to monitor a new metric during sleep called breathing disturbances.
00:15:30You can view your nightly values in the Health app,
00:15:33which can also help you understand the restfulness of your sleep.
00:15:36Every 30 days, Apple Watch will analyze your breathing disturbance data
00:15:40and notify you if it shows consistent signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea.
00:15:45As always, your data is secured in the Health app,
00:15:48which will tell you when sleep apnea may have occurred,
00:15:51and provide education on the importance of speaking with your healthcare provider,
00:15:55plus a detailed report to support that conversation.
00:15:59The detection algorithm was developed using advanced machine learning
00:16:02with an extensive dataset of clinical-grade sleep apnea tests.
00:16:06It was then validated in a clinical study unprecedented in size for sleep apnea technology.
