00:00So Barn By Doggy, it's an online platform that connects dog owners with local borrowers for weekend and holiday care.
00:09And the way it works is people sign up, they create a profile, they write a bit about themselves or their dog.
00:15And then once they've created their profile, then they will start searching for other members, first and foremost, based on their local area.
00:26And then also availability and then reading each other's profiles.
00:29And once they've found someone they like, they will reach out to them and then they meet and greet, just like you do with a dog sitter or babysitter for that matter.
00:36It's all about getting to know people in your local neighbourhood.
00:41And why then? What are the benefits of interacting with a dog?
00:47So, I mean, maybe I can even tell you why I started it.
00:51So what happened was back in 2012, I bought a very cute brown Leopard Dog called Eston and we spent an entire day together.
00:58And I just remember thinking, why are people spending so much money on dog walkers or kennels or leaving their dog home alone when I would love to take care of a dog for free?
01:06And so the benefits is like people who don't have a dog, they get that happy dog time and without the full time responsibility.
01:14And you know what? We're in a very weird time in the world.
01:18Why do you think getting out and about and taking your dog for a walk might lift someone's spirit?
01:26I think it's always done good.
01:28And there's a lot of statistics showing that whenever people will have a dog versus people who don't, they get much exercise.
01:35You know, when you have a dog, you end up speaking with people locally.
01:38Dogs give you so much love and attention.
01:40Like when you're with one, it just makes you so happy.
01:43And then a lot of people who have a dog, you know, they very often they need help with socialization or taking the dog when, for instance, they go to the office or they go on holidays or their kids have an event at school or there could be kind of life changes they're going through.
