00:03:16Introducing first, from Rutherford, New Jersey, Steve Macklin.

00:03:22And we kick things off with the former TNA world champion Steve Macklin

00:03:27who last week came to the aid of Eric Young after Young went one-on-one with Jake Something.

00:03:34Young had gotten the win, but Jake Something attacked Eric Young from behind.

00:03:38It was earlier on that night that Eric Young said he would stand by Macklin as an ally any time after emergence.

00:03:44However, it was Macklin, the first to stand up and defend Young.

00:03:50A very uncharacteristic move for Macklin.

00:04:01His opponent, from Phoenix, Arizona, Hammerstone.

00:04:06It's been a busy few weeks for Hammerstone.

00:04:09He competed in Ultimate X for the X Division Championship recently at TNA Emergence.

00:04:14But earlier on this week, Hammerstone appeared on NXT.

00:04:19Hammerstone had been paid off by NXT's Tony D'Angelo to try and take out the NXT North American champion, Oba Femi.

00:04:29Hammerstone brought quite the fight and tonight he's going to have to do the same against Macklin.

00:04:35Just the beginning of our action this evening.

00:04:37Still to come tonight, we will see a tornado match where the reigning TNA world tag team champions, the ABC,

00:04:44will face first class AJ Francis and KC Navarro.

00:04:48Plus, we are going to hear from Joe Hendry before his matchup with Josh Alexander tomorrow night at Victory Road.

00:04:56And in our main event, Matt and Jeff Hardy face Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards of The System

00:05:02before Edwards and Myers challenge the ABC for the tag titles at Victory Road.

00:05:09Now, Macklin, you're having a chance to brutalize Hammerstone.

00:05:15Not something you can say very often.

00:05:22Now, Hammerstone trying to pick up the pace here against Macklin.

00:05:27Macklin went to war with Eric Young at Emergence.

00:05:31Managed to secure the victory and in the process, earned the respect of Eric Young.

00:05:37Look, Tom, I'll ask you. I don't ask you a lot of questions because I'm often afraid of the answers.

00:05:41But what did you think about Steve Macklin coming out to the aid of Eric Young?

00:05:46Something I don't think we've seen very often from someone like Macklin.

00:05:52I mean, nobody hates Steve Macklin more than you.

00:05:54I was surprised because Steve Macklin has built up this reputation as someone that you can't really trust in this company.

00:06:02How many tag team partners has he turned his back on in the past?

00:06:05How many alliances have we seen that have blown up?

00:06:07But the fact that Steve Macklin came out on his own accord to protect Eric Young from Jake Something last week, that spoke volumes.

00:06:15What did you think?

00:06:16I mean, to your point, Macklin's kind of always carried himself ultimately as a bit of an army of one, if you will.

00:06:23Oh, huge spine buster by Hammerstone.

00:06:27And to your point, it wasn't like some obligational repaying a favor or nothing like that.

00:06:32In fact, it was it was Eric Young who was the one who went public and said he would back up Macklin if he needed it.

00:06:38Ultimately, Macklin was the first one to back up Eric Young.

00:06:41I'm very curious to see how Steve Macklin's left shoulder holds up in this matchup.

00:06:46You can see that kinesio tape on the left shoulder.

00:06:48Hammerstone is bruising as they come.

00:06:52That Macklin went for on Young at emergence.

00:06:56We thought he dislocated his left shoulder and somehow he gutted his way through it and got the win against Eric Young.

00:07:11And look at the way Hammerstone is applying the offense here.

00:07:14He's holding on to that left arm, making it more and more painful for that shoulder joint.

00:07:29As athletes, as wrestlers, we wear that kinesio tape sometime to help nurse an injury.

00:07:33But unfortunately, the issue with it is it makes a target even more so than was probably already there.

00:07:39If you watched emergence, Hammerstone is focused in on that arm.

00:07:45Really doing damage to the core of Macklin throughout this matchup.

00:07:52Spine, the lumbar, now the ribs and the intercostals, the shoulder there too.
