00:00As you may know, I try to hold myself to a very high standard for myself.
00:19And this was not that.
00:22This was not that.
00:24And so what I'd like to say to everyone watching and listening, even if you've had one drink,
00:33don't get behind the wheel of a car.
00:36There's so many alternatives.
00:42Call a friend.
00:45Take an Uber.
00:46There's many travel apps.
00:48Still, take a taxi.
00:53This is a mistake that I made, but I'm hoping that whoever's watching and listening right
00:59now can learn from this mistake.
01:03I know that I certainly have.
01:07And like I said, even one drink, don't get behind the wheel of a car.
01:13I'd like to say we can all be more safe out there, and I'm going to do my part.
01:24I hope that everyone else does their part.
01:27After much discussion and a thorough review of the evidence, today the district attorney's
01:36office correctly agreed to not move forward with that very charge.
01:42You see, the evidence revealed that my client finished the contents of one drink in two
01:49hours at the American Hotel.
01:53And contrary to what was reported, he wasn't drinking other people's drinks or warned in
02:02advance not to drive.
02:06He wasn't rude.
02:07He wasn't obnoxious.
02:08He wasn't belligerent.
02:09In fact, he was polite, and he was cooperative, and he was respectful during his entire encounter
02:20with law enforcement.
02:22His plea today to the reduced and amended non-criminal charge, this traffic violation,
02:27is consistent with these facts and full acceptance of responsibility for them.
