00:00A physical education program that has attracted nationwide attention has

00:07students at La Sierra High School in Carmichael, California swinging high in

00:11health standards. The school developed this project as a challenge to prove

00:15that an intensive physical education program could raise the standards of

00:19fitness among high school youngsters. There's plenty of proof that the project

00:23is successful. The youth are divided into three regular groups, plus a postgraduate

00:28elite, and to move from one class to another they have to pass stiff tests.

00:39This exercise calls for the utmost in coordination as they move the pegs from

00:44hole to hole.

00:52Other schools throughout the nation have studied this program and have discovered

00:56that it's not all work. The students wind up sliding into better shape. La Sierra
