00:00There's a new, fast-paced, close-quarters arena map coming to X Defiant.
00:22Welcome to Rockefeller.
00:25Hi everyone.
00:26My name is Layla, and I am the Global Maps Producer at Ubisoft San Francisco, supervising
00:31all of our incredible map teams as they work to bring your favorite Ubisoft franchises
00:35to X Defiant.
00:37This map may seem familiar if you were lucky enough to get a couple matches in during its
00:41surprise guest appearance at the launch of Season 1.
00:44Now as we look ahead to Rockefeller joining the permanent rotation, let's take a look
00:48at what this map is all about.
00:51Rockefeller is an arena map, where you'll play modes like Occupy, Domination, and more.
00:56Though it was inspired by the world of The Division, we wanted to put our own spin on
01:00it by adding more vibrancy and color and turning it into a paintball arena.
01:05You'll notice paint splatters and improvised cover all around the map, and the cherry on
01:09top is the Carnage Castle right in the middle.
01:13Spend 30 seconds here and you'll understand how it got its name.
01:18Rockefeller is what we consider a close-quarter, fast-to-action map.
01:22It feels frantic and fun, partially because of its smaller size, but also because our
01:27attack lanes all lead to this sort of mosh pit middle point.
01:32Expect a lot of short-range, fast-moving encounters in this map.
01:36This makes game modes like Hotshot and Team Deathmatch particularly fun, as you can expect
01:40to run into someone around almost every corner.
01:45It's also a good map to gain weapon levels on your road to mastery, as you're likely
01:49to get a lot of opportunities for kills.
01:52Now, Rockefeller didn't always look like this.
01:55It was originally much larger, and featured a second level you could climb to get to a
01:59sniper nest.
02:00But we found in playtests that no one used that path, and players either stuck to the
02:05interior spaces on the sides to avoid snipers, or fought directly below the tower itself.
02:11The map told us it wanted to be smaller, and so we listened, and that led to the rip-roaring
02:17Rockefeller you see here.
02:20Once again, big thank you to the whole ANSI team for their work on this map.
02:24We can't wait for everyone to get into Rockefeller and storm Carnage Castle.
02:29See you on the battlefield!
