00:00Hi, this is CT20, a procedurally generated survival sandbox.
00:14It's beautiful walking around here, even after a nuclear disaster.
00:20I'm Matteo Sosso and I've been working on this project as a game director for more than
00:25two years, yet I'm still fascinated by this place.
00:29Even if we are on a quest for survival, there's some magic when the streetlights are turned
00:35on.
00:36And something that in other games may be given for granted, like nightlights, in CT20 it's
00:43not a scripted event, but the result of a complex system interaction.
00:48Each faction in CT20 has its own way to generate electricity, and if you are smart enough,
00:55you can also build your own personal power network.
01:00This is the Ravage Factory, the Faction HQ, and the NPCs working here have to control
01:05the generator that never runs out of coal, which in turn is generated by the wood gathered
01:11by the lumberjacks.
01:13Since it's really important for the faction, this is a restricted area and we're actually
01:18sneak-peeking with our debug camera.
01:21In a quarantined city, getting access to power is vital.
01:25That's why, if you manage to get blueprints and materials required, you can also build
01:30your private network.
01:34Here I'm building the electricity meter needed for connection and the generator to produce
01:39the power.
01:41It's a matter of getting the right blueprint and materials, and choosing the right place
01:45to place it.
01:49And it works!
01:51Let's check the fridge, up and running, and if I need to spare fuel it's possible to disconnect
01:58the appliances directly or through the electricity meter.
02:05Like in real life, in CT20 there are many things you can do with electric power, and
02:09several items can benefit from it.
02:15For example, the gun turret here is active thanks to the Mozgas power network, and fortunately
02:22it's not shooting at me, as I'm not an outlaw in this faction... yet.
02:28Mozgas in particular have also advanced technologies like hydroponic cultivation rooms or meat
02:34replicator, but I feel more like the old times today, so I'd rather look for something more
02:41classic.
02:43Like electric stoves or ovens, cooking with an electric oven allows you to get much better
02:51food than the raw ingredients, both for your hunger and to trade your plates for money
02:56or for other objects.
02:59By the way, fancy some baked mushrooms?
03:04More than just providing a labor for its production, NPCs in CT20 do actually care for their hard-earned
03:10power.
03:12Electricity meters and power supplies are quickly reactivated or repaired as soon as
03:18somebody noticed the lack of energy, when the appliances stop working or the lights
03:23go out.
03:24I know, I'm being really annoying here.
03:29And this is just a small taste of what you can do interacted with our electricity system.
03:35You can benefit from your own generator or use the faction network, engage or interfere
03:40with the supply chain or even use a power failure to distract NPCs.
03:46You can choose the way of building or the way of sabotage.
03:49Or both, why not?
03:52Wait, what if I try something more dramatic?
