00:00Again, the Philippine General Hospital was on fire, so some patients were quickly evacuated.

00:05Here is my report.

00:11The patients spread out in the atrium or quadrangle of the Philippine General Hospital around 6 o'clock this morning.

00:18Some were in stretchers and some were in wheelchairs.

00:22The patients were evacuated after the mezzanine area of the main building was burned.

00:28The smoke was so strong that there was no choice but to evacuate our patients to the ward.

00:34One, two, three, and four, because that's the closest area.

00:38We were able to enter, but they said we couldn't continue because there was a fire in the ward.

00:45That's why we all went outside.

00:47The smoke was so strong in the back, so the tents were removed by the guards.

00:54Of course, we were scared. It's a good thing that we weren't inside.

00:57The patients were in stretchers. It's hard to be in a stretcher.

01:02The DOH immediately notified the patients who needed to be transferred to the hospital.

01:07According to the BFP, the second fire alarm was issued and the fire was declared at 7 in the morning.

01:13In the initial investigation of the Manila Fire District, the so-called call room in the mezzanine of the main building was burned.

01:21What we are involved in is mezzanine, which is done by doctors' quarters.

01:31That's where our doctors rest.

01:34What we are involved in is the overheating of the air-conditioning.

01:42But what is the root cause? There is no clear answer yet.

01:45There was no fire in the walls, ceilings, or flooring.

01:50The fire happened in the medical supplies.

01:58The area that was burned is a renovated area, the office complex.

02:05The room is in good condition. It's not in wiring. That's why we need to investigate.

02:12No one was injured.

02:14The PGH asked for help to the patients affected by the incident.

02:20According to the rehabilitation of the hospital, some of their programs are to fix the old facilities.

02:28Actually, it's getting old. That's why there is an ongoing rehabilitation in the building, including improving the electrical wiring.

02:39A few hours later, the operation of the hospital is back to normal.
