00:00James Trenbath of National World reflected on another home loss against Arsenal for Tottenham.
00:07Well, I mean, obviously gutted to lose to your North London rivals.
00:11You know, like you say, three home defeats on the bounce.
00:14You know, absolutely devastating defeat, really.
00:17And, you know, still licking our wounds this morning, no doubt.
00:21Despite having much of the ball, what went wrong for Spurs in the encounter?
00:25Trying to take the emotion out of it as a fan
00:28and trying to analyse it as a journalist, I guess,
00:31and looking at the finer details.
00:33I think, again, it was a solid enough performance from Spurs.
00:36We may be flattered to deceive in certain areas,
00:39but, you know, as we've just been talking about,
00:42you know, we're certainly not as susceptible to the transition anymore.
00:45We're a lot tighter at the back, it feels like, this season.
00:48We're having a lot more of the ball, controlling the games,
00:51but we've definitely lost something in the final third.
00:53The cutting edge is definitely lacking.
00:55The form of certain players, you could look at the rustiness of Solanke, perhaps.
00:59You know, that lack of focal point that we've been missing in recent weeks.
01:02The decision-making in the final third, you know, very, very poor at times.
01:06A lot of sideways, a lot of backwards passing.
01:08And the final ball into the box.
01:10So, you know, that's a bit of a recipe for, you know, disaster, isn't it?
01:14Once Arsenal scored, it never appeared that Spurs would find a way back into the match.
01:19You don't take your chances at one end.
01:21You slack with the creation.
01:23And, you know, the fine details, we get done from one set piece.
01:26And, you know, that was obviously a sucker punch yesterday.
01:29And, again, Arsenal very, very strong from set pieces.
01:31We switch off.
01:33And then after that, it was pretty much game over.
01:35Duncan Falconer first spoke of Arsenal's ability to score from set pieces.
01:40I think, since the start of last season,
01:43I think it's 24 goals from set pieces we've got.
01:46And I think Spurs have conceded about 17 or 18 from set pieces.
01:51So, they're about as weak at set pieces as we are strong.
01:54Falconer then made clear why Arsenal intended to soak up pressure
01:58for the majority of the game.
02:00Yeah, I think a big strength Arsenal have had recently
02:04is we're very good defensively.
02:07With injury to Odegaard and the suspension of Declan Rice,
02:11I think we were always going to approach it in a slightly less attacking way.
02:15And, you know, we're a team who can soak up pressure like that.
02:18So, it's down to the other team to break us down on this.
02:21If they can't do it, we'll nick a goal from a set piece where we can do.
02:24The question now is whether Arsenal's defence
02:26can be the foundation for a title challenge.
02:29Speaking to friends the weekend about it,
02:32they said it was a lot like watching George Graham's Arsenal again at the moment.
02:35Yeah, it's not as interesting as it could be yesterday, I guess, going forwards.
02:40But, at the end of the day, if you don't concede any goals,
02:43you're not going to lose.
02:44And I think that's the way they look at it.
02:45We're set up so well at the back now.
02:47I mean, Saliba and Gabriela are absolute beasts.
02:50You're never particularly worried you're going to concede
02:55more than one or two goals in any game.
02:56So, if you score, you should win.
