20:49A few hours later, Tommy is informed his wife gave birth to a boy, but when he checks on
20:53him he discovers it's a hybrid baby.
20:55He immediately runs out of the room and has a panic attack before getting into the elevator,
20:59where Sing offers supportive words.
21:01In the present, Tommy and Becky search for Gus to no avail.
21:04Becky admits she feels confused because all her life she thought hybrids were nature's
21:08miracle, but now they appear to be just a lab experiment.
21:11Tommy tells her to wait in the house in case he comes back and goes looking for Gus more
21:14deeply in the forest.
21:16Meanwhile Gus is getting rid of all the things Richard gave him, including Bertie's picture.
21:20At that moment he finds a bunch of flyers promoting the hybrid preserve on the ground
21:23and a plane outside the forest.
21:25While Gus looks around, Tommy arrives and gives him the dog.
21:28Gus says he has no dad and that he wants to go to the preserve to be with others like
21:31him.
21:32Tommy shares the story of his hybrid son and how he almost ran away, but he realized he
21:36was only scared of being a dad so he went back for his wife and baby.
21:40However when he returned, the soldiers had already killed them both.
21:43He asks Gus not to abandon him too, but Gus reveals the plane's radio is working and he
21:47already called the preserve.
21:49Suddenly they hear a shot and Tommy collapses while they're surrounded by last men, who
21:52put Gus in a cage and take him away.
21:55Back in the sewers under the zoo, the hybrids hear how a bunch of last men arrive in the
21:58city with tons of trucks and even tanks.
22:01Abbott tells Amy to hand over the hybrids, but she refuses and starts a speech on how
22:04the hybrids are better than humans, which is heard by the kids.
22:07As the men surround the zoo, Amy activates a bunch of fireworks that keep the soldiers
22:11distracted while the kids continue to cross the sewers without being heard.
22:15While the last men break into the zoo, the hybrids make it to an abandoned church.
22:19Bobby wanders off and is found by soldiers, who immediately capture him and take him away.
22:23Wendy tries sneaking out, however she's quickly found and captured as well.
22:27Moments later when Amy arrives at the church disguised as a last man, she screams in grief
22:31when she discovers all the hybrids were taken.
22:34In the meantime, Sing and Ronnie arrive at the last men's headquarters.
22:37Ronnie is immediately isolated and Sing freaks out in anger, but the soldiers grab him and
22:41Abbott tells him they'll let Ronnie go after Sing finds the cure.
22:44Sometime later, the men bring Gus in the cage and Sing gives him some candy.
22:48When Gus says thanks, Sing is left in shock at his intelligence.
22:52He announces he wants more time with Gus so he asks for another hybrid to work on for
22:55now.
22:56Back in Judy's house, Becky admits her parents weren't actually murdered, they were killed
23:00by the virus.
23:01Her sister had been a hybrid, and the last men took her away.
23:04For a long time Becky was alone trying to find her sister while growing to hate adults.
23:09Eventually she found other kids in her same situation and they formed their own family.
23:12At that moment Judy's radio gets an important message and Becky sends one back, finding
23:16Birdie on the other end.
23:18At the same time a mysterious person picks up Tommy and the dog plush in their truck.
23:22In the last men's headquarters, Gus is sent to a warehouse and watches how another hybrid
23:25is taken away.
23:27There he meets all the kids from the church, including Wendy and Bobby who give him a big
23:30hug.
23:31The second boy is soon killed by Sing in his lab for the sake of the cure.
23:35Tommy wakes up in a strange apartment and finds Amy, who tells him they'll rescue their
23:38kids soon.
