00:00What I found with the NHS in recent years is that the service from my GP has
00:05dramatically deteriorated and that's mainly been about getting in touch with
00:09your GP and arranging appointments. I found that when you actually can get an
00:13appointment and you see someone face to face you do actually get the care and
00:17attention that you need. The times I've used the NHS recently I've really felt
00:21like the members of staff are trying so hard and it's sad that they're not
00:27getting the support they need to be able to provide what they clearly want.
00:30I'm a huge fan of the NHS, they've been brilliant for me. I've had double knee
00:36replacements, I've had open heart surgery, I've had cancer surgery and I found the
00:42treatment I've had has been excellent and the staff are almost without
00:46exception a joy to be with. I think it's been underfunded for at least 20 years
00:53and when we came to Covid that's why we have to protect the NHS because it was
00:58already in a dire state.
