01:00Mr. Muddled could get it muddled, and frequently did.
01:04Imagine, for instance, something as simple as putting on your coat.
01:08Now, what could get muddled with putting on your coat?
01:13Well, see for yourself.
01:17Only Mr. Muddled would put his coat on like that.
01:21Imagine, for instance, something as simple as going for a walk.
01:24Now, what could get muddled about going for a walk?
01:27Well, when your legs start walking one way,
01:31and you start walking the other,
01:34that's a very muddly sort of walk.
01:37Poor Mr. Muddled, walking one way and going another.
01:41Now, you'd probably like to know where Mr. Muddled lives.
01:45In a house by the sea, near a place called Seatown.
01:50Mr. Muddled's house was supposed to be in the country,
01:53but Mr. Muddled, who built the house himself,
01:57had got the place muddled up, of course.
02:04This story starts one afternoon, when Mr. Muddled was having his breakfast.
02:08We know, we know you don't have breakfast in the afternoon.
02:13But you do if you get your meal times muddled up.
02:18Mr. Muddled was having bread and butter and jam,
02:21and a cup of tea with milk and sugar.
02:25He spread the butter on the table,
02:28then spread the jam on the plate,
02:30then poured the milk on the bread,
02:32and then filled the cup with sugar,
02:34and then poured the tea on the bread.
02:37What a terribly muddly mixed up breakfast.
02:44That afternoon, after breakfast,
02:47he went for a walk down the beach near his house,
02:50in order to work up an appetite for supper.
02:53He met an old fisherman called George, who he knew quite well.
02:57Afternoon, Mr. Muddled, said George.
03:01Good evening, replied Mr. Muddled.
03:04George smiled.
03:06How do you like to come fishing with me?
03:08He asked.
03:10Oh, no, please, replied Mr. Muddled, eagerly.
03:16Help me push the boat out from the beach,
03:19called George.
03:22Right-o, said Mr. Muddled,
03:23and pulled the boat further up onto the beach.
03:27Oh, Mr. Muddled, said George,
03:30and had to show Mr. Muddled the difference
03:32between pulling and pushing.
03:39However, eventually, somehow or other,
03:41they managed to get the boat out to sea.
03:49Now, let's fish, said George,
03:51dropping a fishing line over the side of the boat.
03:55Right-o, said Mr. Muddled,
03:56and dropped himself over the side of the boat.
04:01Oh, Mr. Muddled, said George again.
04:07It wasn't any good.
04:08They didn't catch any fish,
04:10so they decided to go home before it became dark.
04:14Help me, Mr. Muddled,
04:16before it became dark.
04:18Help me pull the boat up onto the beach,
04:21called George.
04:23Right-o, said Mr. Muddled,
04:25and pushed the boat back into the water.
04:27George was just about to say,
04:29Oh, Mr. Muddled, again,
04:31but he had an idea.
04:33He smiled to himself.
04:36Help me push the boat out into the sea,
04:39George called.
04:41Right-o, said Mr. Muddled,
04:44and pulled the boat up onto the beach.
04:46Well done, Mr. Muddled, said George.
04:49Mr. Muddled smiled a smile, and went home.
04:53George smiled a smile,
04:56and went to tell everybody.
04:59The following day in Seatown,
05:01Mr. Brick, the builder, asked Mr. Muddled
05:03to hold his coat for him.
05:04Right-o, said Mr. Muddled,
05:06and held his ladder for him.
05:08Which is what Mr. Brick really wanted.
05:11Well done, Mr. Muddled, smiled Mr. Brick,
05:14who'd been talking to George.
05:16Mr. Muddled was very pleased.
05:19Then Mrs. Scrub, the laundry,
05:21asked Mr. Muddled to pass her the soap.
05:23Right-o, said Mr. Muddled,
05:26and passed her a cloth bag.
05:28Which is what Mrs. Scrub really wanted.
05:32Well done, Mr. Muddled, smiled Mrs. Scrub,
05:36who'd also been talking to George.
05:39Mr. Muddled was extremely pleased.
05:42And then Mr. Brick, the coalman,
05:44asked Mr. Muddled to lift a sack of coal
05:46down from his lorry.
05:48Right-o, said Mr. Muddled,
05:50and lifted a sack of coal up onto the lorry.
05:54Which is what Mr. Brick really had wanted all along.
05:58Well done, Mr. Muddled, smiled Mr. Brick,
06:02George had talked to everybody.
06:05Mr. Muddled was delighted.
06:08In fact, Mr. Muddled was so delighted
06:10that he decided to go home
06:12and cook himself a large meal to celebrate.
06:15Roast turkey, peas, potatoes, and gravy.
06:21He put the turkey in the cupboard to cook.
06:26He peeled the peas.
06:29He put the potatoes in the refrigerator to boil.
06:33And then, do you know what he did?
06:36He tried to slice the gravy.
06:38Oh, Mr. Muddled!
