00:00For our athletes, knowing that they now have a Games, it's certainly around where they'll go in 2026.
00:06We know how important the Commonwealth Games are to many of our athletes.
00:09So to have that announcement and the support we're getting through the Scottish Government, the UK Government
00:14and Glasgow City in concert with the CGF is really important.
00:18So we were absolutely delighted.
00:20It gives you a clear date in the calendar.
00:22So from an athlete point of view, many of them will be coming off the back of Paris
00:28so it gives them a clear calendar date in two years' time they can prepare for.
00:32And then for some of them, they'll go on to other journeys through to LA and hopefully Brisbane and beyond that.
00:39Our focus is on the future.
00:40I'm looking after athletes and there are five pinnacle events as part of the High Performance Strategy
00:45taking us through to 32 and we've now got a Commonwealth Games as part of those five.
