Kamara had a dominating performance in Week 2 but can he and the Saints keep this up to be in awards consideration?

00:00which I'll ask you this question, Nick, like, would you rather bet on Derek Carr
00:03at 40 to 1 to an MVP? Or would you rather bet Alvin Kamara at 21 to 1 to win
00:06offensive player of the year? Because you think you'd rather go car? I mean,
00:10Kamara has an injury concern, which is the big problem with him, but he's put
00:14up a lot of touchdowns and that offense is humming and they expected to win
00:17their division as well. I think Kamara is an interesting and he's 21 to 1 car.
00:21You're getting a bigger payout, but I think also there's bigger hurdles as
00:24well for car, given the fact that he's not seen as like an MVP caliber
00:28quarterback. I'll just I'll say this about the Saints offense and like I
00:31spend a lot of time thinking about this stuff for various reasons like we
00:34haven't seen yet. We basically the Saints offense has been funneled through
00:38three players besides for car. Who's like the trigger man? It's Kamara, it's
00:42Shahid and it's Olave and it's in that order. Basically, we haven't seen anyone
00:47else. And I know that Moreau and Juwan Johnson both caught touchdowns in week
00:50one. Taysom Hill is a little bit involved in the run game, but it's
00:53really just those three. Like what happens when other players start
00:56getting involved? Kendra Miller will come off IR. You can laugh, but like
01:00Kamara, I don't know if you could be able to hold up physically for an
01:02entire season. Olave compared to the others has done nothing yet. Like this
01:07matchup coming up on Sunday against the Eagles and that secondary, this should
01:12be doesn't have to be, but should be one where we will be singing after the
01:16game. Oh, lovey. Oh, uh, so yeah, I do think we'll see other members of the
01:25Saints start to get some shine away from Alvin Kamara. So I'd rather bet
01:29car, but your point is taken on Kamara. But to that point, there was one baldie
01:33brought this up when we chatted with him. Like the Eagles run defense is
01:36horrendous. Like what if Kamara goes for 150 yards on the ground? I think that's
01:40in the range of outcomes based on how the Eagles have played run defense so
01:43far this season and a couple of touchdowns and all of a sudden you talk
01:45about Alvin Kamara. He's sitting at 9 to 1 to win offensive player of the year.
01:49Like I just think that it's one like and now I don't really want to back
01:52running backs that much in this award because of the injury risk with those
01:54guys. And also there tend to be in committees. You mentioned Condre
01:58Miller. He's gonna end up coming back and maybe he gets into the mix here.
02:00But I think that Kamara is just an interesting guy. Just given the fact
02:04that he plays on a really good offense, probably gonna score a lot of
02:07touchdowns and their favorite right now, at least co favorites to win the NFC
02:10South. So he kind of checks the box from a team standpoint. It's just can
02:14he stay on the field and stay healthy? And also will he be like kind of like
02:17the focal point of the Saints offense that remains to be seen.
