00:00Ladies and gentlemen, Burt Reynolds making his directorial debut on the new motion picture Gator.
00:08For my first film as a director, I didn't want to make just another Burt Reynolds movie.
00:13I wanted to make a serious film about close personal relationships.
00:21I wanted to avoid sex.
00:22You charmed the shirt right off my back.
00:26I wanted to stay away from violence.
00:31I didn't want any wild chasing.
00:34No hair-raising stunts.
00:38No fight scenes.
00:41I wanted to make a film about quiet times in the country.
00:46And the little things that make life worthwhile.
00:50But United Artists didn't want to make that picture.
00:53So we made Gator instead.
00:56Gator McCluskey!
00:57Now we know you're in there.
01:00We're coming to get you, Gator.
