00:00Hospitals across Lebanon have been overwhelmed with injured people, many injured in the eyes
00:04if they'd been handling devices that they showed early signs of exploding, or in the
00:10abdomen if they'd been attached to their belts or in their pockets.
00:13Let's hear from our reporter in Beirut.
00:15Wahad Taha sent us this from outside the American hospital in Beirut.
00:21I'm standing here in front of the American University of Beirut Medical Centre which
00:25has received a significant number of Hezbollah members who sustained injuries over the past
00:32two days since the Pagers attack occurred on Tuesday which resulted in more than 3,000
00:40injuries across Lebanon and since the walkie-talkie attack that occurred yesterday on Wednesday
00:48which also resulted in around 400 injuries across Lebanon.
00:53Now most of these injuries were in Beirut's southern suburbs, in the southern part of
00:58Lebanon and in the Bekaa Valley.
01:00What is common between all those areas is the fact that they are all Hezbollah stronghold areas.
01:05When it comes to what we are expecting over the next few hours, we're expecting to hear
01:11from Secretary General of Hezbollah Hassan Nasrallah later this afternoon in what is
01:18going to be one of his most anticipated speeches.
01:21This was a major security breach for Hezbollah following the past year of this war of attrition
01:27with Israel where Israel was able to assassinate a significant number of Hezbollah top-ranking
01:33military commanders and field commanders as well in precision airstrikes.
01:38But something on this scale where telecommunication networks are intercepted or even tampered
01:44with by supposedly Israeli intelligence according to the story coming here from Lebanon is extraordinary.
01:50So we're waiting to see and hear from Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah
01:55later this afternoon.
