Two-time World Cup winner frustrated with Putellas' Ballon d'Or nomination

Speaking at the Thinking Football Summit, World Cup winner Ariane Hingst doesn't think Alexia Putellas warrants the award because she has hardly played.

00:00What frustrates me the most is, and don't get me wrong, the likes of Alexia Puteas.
00:06Great, great player, but she's been injured for such a long time and it's time to come back.
00:11But she's also on the list to be the best of this season.
00:15This can't be right and I don't think that it does justice to the really great football players we have out there
00:22if Puteas is on this list named as well.
00:25We need to get away from the superstars and just recognise the season that has been played.
00:31If Lena Oberdorf wouldn't have missed the Olympics, I think she would have been top of the list
00:36and she is still for me, even though she missed the Olympics,
00:39because the season she played and the way she developed, it's just tremendously.
00:45And being biased, I have to say a German name, but she's not even on the list.
