00:00Hi, welcome back to my channel. In this video, I will explain the ending of Kings of Joburg

00:04season 2. So, let's begin.

00:07Kings of Joburg is essentially an 8-part television series about a gold truck traveling from place

00:11to place before finally coming to a dead end.

00:15Following Jonah Ferguson's untimely death from a covid complication in 2021, his wife,

00:19Connie, took over to continue the second season of A Kings of Joburg.

00:24Season 2 of Kings of Joburg picked up where season 1 left off.

00:28We previously saw how Simon was tormented by the mermaid's constant demand for a blood

00:32payment. When Magic Turner abducted Simon's mistress and son, Simon had to intervene to

00:37save them, but in order to preserve the magical power, he sacrificed his own son in front

00:41of Emo.

00:42To break the curse, Emo shot his own brother, however, it was discovered in season 2 that

00:47the mystical power of the mermaid was now housed in Mo's body.

00:51Let's explore how his magical prowess might enable Emo to prosper and become the new King

00:55of Joburg, just to let you know this video will contain spoilers.

00:59Kings of Joburg opens with Emo being tortured by the mermaid's demonic growling while she

01:03is still inside Mo's body.

01:05As we can see, after Simon vanished, Angela, Simon's wife, had suspicions about Emo.

01:11She assumed Emo was covering something up regarding Simon's disappearance, which was

01:14accurate given that Emo had actually killed his brother after witnessing what Simon did

01:18to his son.

01:20The new King of Joburg was Emo, who was now the leader of their gang.

01:24Tlatlo, his son, was committing a heist.

01:27They had a deal with Danny Steenkamp, who would be buying the gold stolen by Emo and

01:31his gang.

01:32But there were many sites focused on the gold truck.

01:35As an example, Zaza wasn't simply looking to get revenge on the Mazayers, she was also

01:40playing Mimi as a card to get Tlatlo to provide her access to the gold.

01:44While everything was going on, Akilo Bajo, who had been shot in season 1, was seen to

01:48be miraculously alive.

01:50He kidnapped Sonia Themba, also known as Fumzy, who we knew to be a special undercover spy.

01:56After Sonia and Emo were married, she confessed her identity as being an undercover agent

02:00to Emo Akilo Bajo wasn't by himself, though.

02:03He was employed by an entity and planned to abduct Fumzy.

02:07Victor was the new officer who had been transferred into the city.

02:11Ho forced Officer Stan to resign and took control of the police force.

02:15But as time went on, we learned that he wasn't even a trustworthy officer because Victor

02:19was subordinate to the same man Akilo Bajo was employed by, and both of them had their

02:23sights set on the gold truck.

02:25In A Kings of Joburg, the enigma of the Mazayer mermaid was eventually cleared up.

02:30Simon and Mo's mother, who was the first victim of the mermaid's curse, wanted to kill every

02:34member of the family.

02:36But Simon killed her in order to put an end to the curse, but instead, he was possessed

02:40by the mermaid.

02:42Kings of Joburg, season 2 also revealed that Simon and Emo had a sister named Veronica,

02:46who was not related to them by blood.

02:49She had been adopted by Taleti Mazayer, Mo's uncle.

02:52She used to work as a prostitute on the streets, where Taleti rescued her and took her home.

02:57Veronica respected and adored Taleti the most because it was Taleti who taught her how to

03:01be self-reliant and resilient.

03:03However, it ultimately became clear that Taleti Mazayer was the primary antagonist of the

03:08story.

03:09Was Simon dead or alive?

03:12What happened to Emo?

03:14Magic Turner was seen receiving tips from a person who was none other than Veronica.

03:18She had been employed by Taleti the entire time, and at his request, she attended Mo's

03:23wedding.

03:24Meanwhile, Simon's passing was confirmed once his body was discovered.

03:28Aquilo Bajo and Agent Victor were actually working for Taleti.

03:32We learn that Aquilo Bajo had abducted Mo's wife, Fumsy, in order to confront him so that

03:37Taleti could take over his gang.

03:39Taleti was the one who hired assassins to murder Mo's father and now it was his goal

03:43to take over Mo's illegal enterprise.

03:45He wasn't, however, loyal to Veronica.

03:49He trained Veronica to be a fighter so that she could defend him, but he ordered Aquilo

03:52to kill all of the Mazayers, including her.

03:55He wanted to clear his path since he didn't want any barriers on his mission to entirely

03:59take the reins.

04:00Magic, though, unexpectedly turned out to be Mo's collaborator.

04:05He sent Veronica a recording of Taleti's voice.

04:08Many things became clear once the gold truck was ultimately delivered to Taleti.

04:13We observed Veronica turning the tables on Taleti and siding with her family.

04:17She played the tape on which Taleti gave Aquilo the go-ahead to murder them.

04:22Along with killing Taleti, Mo also shot Aquilo.

04:25When Victor got there and saw that Taleti was dead, he broke down.

04:29Victor's true identity as Taleti's son was revealed when the officers later arrived on

04:33the site and arrested him.

04:35Mo was also detained along with Victor, maybe for carrying out the heist or murdering his

04:39own brother.

04:41We can only assume, as nothing was cleared in the series.

04:44We saw Aquilo Bajo still alive and in possession of some sort of evil power at the end of Kings

04:48of Joburg season 2, but it wasn't specified what that evil power might be, and to be honest,

04:54we are probably better off without a subsequent season of this show to explain it.

04:58Additionally, we see that Mo's son and Veronica both acquired the mermaid's magical ability.

05:03When Fumzy arrived to visit M.O. in prison, we noticed that his son had a glow in his

05:07eyes that suggested he might have the same supernatural power as his father.
