And if these rocks could speak, they would whisper of ancient winds and timeless suns. Of shadows stretching long across the desert’s canvas. Like giants frozen in a dance, their granite domes painted in hues of gold and crimson revealing the earth's very bones. Her great ribs of stone, piercing the sky and breathing secrets of a time before time. This imagery perfectly captured the scene that greeted the riders on the morning of the 3rd day of the BMW Motorrad International GS Trophy in Namibia. Bathed in the soft glow of dawn, the rocks stood like an ancient Greek-Roman sculpture - Nature’s masterpiece, with layers of stone draped over each other like a blanket. It was a visual feast for the riders, a brief moment of stillness and admiration before they tackled the day’s first Special Challenge, set right next to the campground.

Day 3, Special Challenge 1: The Spitzkoppe INSTA360 Challenge. Equipped with only a sheet of instructions and a compass, the riders set off on foot to find a hidden GS Trophy wooden board in the rugged terrain around Spitzkoppe. They had five steps to follow, navigating the rocky landscape to reach their target, then take a selfie with the board and return to the starting point—all while racing against the clock. With an Insta360 camera capturing their every move, the riders dashed over rocks and through narrow paths, eyes scanning the terrain for clues. The challenge tested their navigation skills, sense of direction, and quick thinking, all under the pressure of time.

00:00Day 3 of the GS Trophy in Namibia has begun.
00:13Today we'll feature three special stages and potentially some of the most challenging riding
00:17of this event.
00:18Once again, the team members will need to dig deep.
00:21And speaking of deep, we're expecting plenty of deep sand.
00:24We'll be doing a 156 kilometer loop with all of it being off-road.
00:28We'll be leaving the Spitzkopper camp, going into the Omaruwa riverbed, and then back
00:34to Spitzkopper camp.
00:36Speaking of the Omaruwa riverbed, it's approximately 45 kilometers of non-stop deep sand.
00:40Let's go check out the action.
00:53Day 3, challenge 1 of the GS Trophy in Namibia.
00:56For this special stage, the riders are not getting on their motorcycles this morning.
01:00They're hiking a short distance from camp to this beautiful spot in the rocks for the
01:03Insta360 challenge.
01:05The team members are handed an Insta360 camera, a compass, and a sheet of directions.
01:11They need to navigate through the rocks to a waypoint where they're going to take a selfie
01:15of themselves and run back to the finish.
01:18Time stops when all three team members cross the finish.
01:22We're at the second special stage of the day, the Camel Thorn Tree Challenge.
01:31This could do a number on a tire.
01:43Behind me is a motorcycle with a punctured tire.
01:45For this challenge, one team member needs to ride a motorcycle across this sandy wash
01:49to a finish line, while the other team members run to collect a tire repair kit, and the
01:53clock doesn't stop until all team members have arrived at this finish box and the tire
01:57is repaired.
01:58As promised, we've arrived at the Omaruwa river, this is going to be approximately 45
02:15kilometers of deep sand and the competitors have no choice but to ride through this.
02:39Now after a long and challenging ride through the deep sand of the Omaruwa river, the competitors
02:44have arrived at their third special for the day, the Omaruwa Metzeler Challenge.
02:50All the team members must start at the flag gate.
02:53First team member makes his way around the course through the flags and back to the gate
02:56where they have to high five the next team member and off they go.
03:00Time stops when all the team members are back at the flag gate, and it's a team event so
03:05help is allowed.
03:06Let's check it out.
03:07It's been a long and challenging day, many of the teams struggled not only in the special
03:22stages but also in that deep riverbed sand.
03:26It's getting late and some of the teams are still just arriving here at camp.
03:31Yeah, for those teams that are just arriving and even the ones that arrived earlier, they've
03:35got to get their stuff set up, they've got to get some food in them, they've got to get
03:38a good night's sleep because tomorrow could yet again prove to be an extremely challenging
03:42day.
03:43We're only at the midpoint of this GS Trophy and it's still anyone's trophy, so let's go
03:47take a look at the leaderboard, see where things stand and stay tuned for the action.
