Allocation MOU would be done by now if not delayed by Opposition, says Fahmi

The issues surrounding the memorandum of understanding (MOU) concerning the allocation for Opposition MPs could have been resolved earlier had the matter not been unnecessarily prolonged, said Fahmi Fadzil. 00:00I would like to say a few words about an issue that has just happened,

00:15which is the memorandum of understanding between the government and the judges.

00:20I was one of the people involved to discuss the issue of the memorandum of understanding,

00:29point by point,

00:35and at that time, after the decision was made,

00:38I was also tasked to keep track and submit a number of things,

00:44if I'm not mistaken, there were 17 or 18,

00:47which have been agreed to see whether it has been implemented or not.

00:54I know the process, I was involved in the process,

00:58I observed whether the principle, what is called as not only the object,

01:04but also the purpose, the higher objective.

01:07In the issue of the memorandum of understanding between the government and the judges,

01:12our intention is to make sure that the opponents play a constructive role in the parliament,

01:18avoiding playing a triad issue,

01:21and the most basic thing,

01:27that is as a start,

01:30our hope, like us before,

01:32almost every week we will meet,

01:35or after two weeks,

01:37to provide a solution,

01:40for those who have been involved in any form of hearing,

01:51not a preliminary draft.

01:53So I regret the action of the Chief Justice,

01:56and I regret that we invited the Chief Justice in various ways,

02:01including the welcoming of National Day.

02:03I regret because our welcome was not welcomed,

02:09we sent a cloth to wrap the clothes,

02:13he did not answer,

02:15he has already opened the story.

02:19We are doing our best to reach out in the spirit of democracy and for the people,

02:25but the hands that were waved in the spirit of not friendship,

02:29but understanding,

02:31was not welcomed,

02:32in fact, it looked like a victim play.

02:42whether in the Ministry or outside,

02:45we need to clarify this issue.

03:22If that is the desire of the Chief Justice,

03:26then it should have been done long ago.

03:29I feel this is the place for me to raise this issue,

03:33so that there is no misunderstanding.

03:36Maybe there are some people who ask,

03:40why is the difference this time compared to the past?

03:48first, to overcome COVID-19.

03:50Second, we wanted to see,

03:53a number of reforms or changes.

03:56As a result of that misunderstanding,
