01:00negotiator Michel Barnier instead, a move widely criticised by socialist MPs, yet some
01:06remained quietly hopeful the new cabinet would reflect the will of the French people expressed
01:11in the July polls.
01:16We don't have a choice but to stay optimistic, and we can only hope that of all of the cabinets
01:22we've seen under Mr Macron, the last one will be the best.
01:28Other possible nominations include centrist Jean-Noël Barrault for foreign minister,
01:33and Sébastien Lecornu staying on as defence minister.
01:37The full make-up of the new cabinet should be unveiled by Sunday.
