00:00The fluvial procession for the Our Lady of Peña Francia is now being prepared for tomorrow.

00:05From different parts of the country, the devotees from Pahalik in Berhen are arriving.

00:10The witness is Oscar Oida.

00:16It's still early in the morning, and the devotees from Pahalik of Our Lady of Peña Francia have already arrived

00:20here at St. John the Evangelist Metropolitan Cathedral in Naga City.

00:25Many have come from faraway places to pray and share their stories about Our Lady of Peña Francia.

00:33I had cancer in 1986-87.

00:38Every time we would put flowers on her feet, I would whisper to her,

00:43let me have an extension, I still have a long life ahead of me.

00:48Many are selling memorabilia, rosaries, t-shirts, and other images of the Our Lady.

01:01will hold a mass in front of the Quadricentennial Arch in front of the Cathedral tomorrow before the fluvial procession.

01:09The celebration is extra special because it also celebrates the 100th canonical celebration of Peña Francia.

01:17Canonical coronation is a special recognition given by Rome.

01:21Usually, there are two requirements, antiquity and miracles.

01:25Antiquity because it should have passed the test of time.

01:28And in 1920, when the petition was made for canonical coronation, the devotion was already more than 200 years old.

01:37The fluvial procession is expected to start at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

01:42It is not the same every year because it depends on the water level in the Naga River.

01:49If the water level is too high, the peak of the high tide, we will not be able to pass below the Colgante and Panganiban rivers.

01:58If the water level is too low, the pagoda will be destroyed.

02:03It will not advance.

02:04So, we observe the tide in between.

02:09From the cathedral, the pagoda will ride the Our Lady of Peña Francia

02:13to cross the Naga River back to the Basilica Wharf or Landingan.

02:19For those who will jump into the river during the procession,

02:23in the belief that the river is blessed when the Our Lady of Peña Francia is crossing,

02:28the church has a different call.

02:31She is our mother and we reign her.

02:35The river is what she is crossing.

02:37We should take care of the river.

02:43We must make sure that the river will not be polluted

02:46because it is the river we dedicate to our Blessed Mother.
