Melvin Jerusalem keeps title

Melvin Jerusalem successfully defends WBC title.

Melvin Jerusalem made his countrymen proud after winning via unanimous decision against Mexican foe Luis Castillo to successfully defend his WBC strawweight title at the main event of Blow by Blow in Mandaluyong City on Sunday night, Sept. 22.

Jerusalem raised his fist proudly after handing Castillo his first defeat in his entire career.

The match lasted 12 rounds.

This is the first world boxing championship hosted in the country.
